I must fit into this category - Cannon noob who cant afford good armour and prayer abuser who drinks too much weed?

aka - Uses best slayer master for cannon, uses cannon for nearly all tasks, wears either dragon chain for personal prestige or prayer gear to annihilate, whip, uses tormoil/ss/block prayers, drinks extremes or overloads and healer/yak/steel titan.

I not too sure I agree with those categories. Especially the glory guy. Poor guy... Probably just prefers the teles on it and doesnt wish to use up inventory space just for a tiny boost of a fury or doesnt see the point of the huge extra cost.

Btw where the hell is the godsword noob who cant afford a whip and resorts to lending. I see plenty of them.

There's tons of type of players when it comes to slayer. The newb one doesn't even seem like a noob one. Sorry he can't afford Bandos? I'm neither of those 3. Wheres the range or mage slayer? barrows slayer? etc etc.

61,358th to 99 range on May 23rd, 2010.

100,927th to 99 def on February 13th, 2011.

Actually, I think the newb one is the only accurate stereotype. The other two are completely wrong though.

I am fine if there is just one huge thread with the types of players, with the correct information of course. I mean it is thoughtful for the OP to post a thread, but unfortunately most of the information are incorrect.

Well, in life, you might find that generalisations are generally wrong.

Of course, but if done right the stereotypes can be entertaining. Do you not agree?

O i fullheartedly agree. I'm just saying we shouldnt be looking at whats defined as "pro" or "noob", but rather what *you* think is. That's the discussion value i was looking for earlier, but the op didn't seem to agree.

This slayer generally wears a glory, a fighter torso, and a rune defender. No matter what you say to him, he will defend that glory is superior to the fury, fighter torso is better than a bcp, and that the rune defender outstrips the dfs. There's no use arguing with these people- They'll ignore what you say and start citing numbers and such. But that's fine.

The defender is better then the dfs...

this. And your missing the guy in prossy plate+v skirt, who pietys every task because he would rather spend all his money on skills+ppots then bandos.

1. rune def is better than dfs, idk why you would argue that

2. most "pro slayers" use summoning also, anyone without an iron or steel titan isnt a true power slayer

id add the cannon-o-holic like myself or perhaps a step above the pro slayer is the powerslayer who uses everything for speed, we cannon tasks even in single combat just for that boost of speed no matter how much people say "waste of money"

id also add the "pray everything" this guy uses either prossy + sw, bandos + sw, or prossy + fc and simply prays + turmoils every single task he does, not necesarily powerslaying but simply prayer for everything, this guy will argue prayer > eating food or using bunyip

Rune Defender > Dragonfire Sheild, I think most people will agree with that. If you have a high defense level, then higher defensive armour isn't needed, there fore bandos isn't really better than a fighter torso.

So much is wrong with this thread that I cannot form a complete thought to encompass it all... It'd take me time that I'm not willing to invest.

The challenge of a mistake is not to avoid it. The challenge of a mistake is dealing with the outcome.

Well sometimes I use bandos but I've given up using it because I have fighter torso (who needs a few more defence points when you have a pony to heal you?). And the +2 str bonus from tassets doesn't really help me much. So 45M+ is really a waste for me imo, and I have 18.3M slayer exp, I should know. If you wanna waste money on a few extra strength bonus points, go ahead, I just think bandos is overrated for its price when fighter torso+unicorn can do the same job. Also I don't know why on earth people use the dragonfire shield so much. I see people using it at dark beasts praying. it may be 2 str bonus more than a rune defender, but you're missing out on, what, +19 attack bonus? Pretty stupid imo, you might as well be wearing a strength ammy and lose as much attack bonus as humanly possible. DFS I think should only be used on dragon tasks. It's the reason I keep selling it whenever I buy it because I hardly ever use it over a rune defender.

I think the guy in full bandos and dfs is actually a good stereotype, he just described it wrong. It's not a pro slayer, it's a slayer who is obsessed by strength and showing off.

You make a good point, and I agree. They're the lazy-slayers who actually got to 99. Slayer cape, DFS, full Bandos . . . and a bunyip on every task.

Make vague assumptions about people, don't mention the two other combat types..

?

I don't understand the discussion value of this thread. Someone explain.

All three of people pictured could be sucessfull.

A noob slayer is one who half kills monsters and leaves it for others to finish.

A noob slayer is one who steals kills in multi or crowds you out of your spot in single.

I am a noob slayer.

The original post was so flawed, that there are already 3 pages of corrections in one day. I guess the "discussion value" thing worked itself out.

How is it showing off? Just how?

Wearing Bandos isn't about an "obsession with strength." It is about DPS and hitting as high as possible as fast as possible. It's this little thing people call "fun" that people, like me, like to have.

The challenge of a mistake is not to avoid it. The challenge of a mistake is dealing with the outcome.

This.

Rune Def > DFS

Torso = BCP, if you need that def so badly you aren't a "pro" slayer.

Also, why does the "noob slayer" have a firecape, and the pro slayer doesn't?

So many flaws, and this stereotypical fashion isn't even accurate. You can see somebody who's gotten 99 slayer using a noob setup. Does it make them a noob? No. It makes them somebody who doesn't need 75m in armor just to kill simple tasks.

DPS?

I generally slay in SH/Swars cape/fury/zerker(fero)/defender/prossy top/v skirt/d boots/whip of course.

Oh and i also use extremes on ever task repotted when i hit 120/99 and i also use this thing called piety and a set of something called dragon claws. Oh yeah and I have something like 3k special restore pots in the bank to use.

And your waste on bandos/dfs is better how?

Dammit. I venture into this section for the first time in months and I find this polluting it.
