Waterloo
I'm currently reading Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code very interesting book, all about 2 people trying to solve a mysterious code left by a dieing man.
Jonanananas
From what I've heard, most of them are godawful too. I've read them a lot a few years ago...but by now, I wouldn't really recommend them anymore. Though if you want to start, I think Michael A. Stackpole's X-Wing Series(starts with "Attack on Coruscant" I think is one of the books that is quite early in the timeline.
Crocefisso
I've always hated those tie-in books for film or TV series' - they're never any good. Sally
I'm reading Matched by Ally Condle, its actually a lot better that I thought it was going to be. Then I may re-read the original 101 Dalmatians again, I haven't made up my mind yet. Gotta Catch 'Em All!Blog
tripsis
I'm reading Inheritance now. I'm honestly not a huge fan of the author since the series is basically copied from every other fantasy novel.. but since I like the novels they're copied from I can't help but also like this series. Anyway I read the other three books so just finishing things up. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
Duff
Found out that I hadn't finished reading Xenocide by Orson Scott Card. Luckily, I placed a bookmark in there. I'll probably pick up reading that book for now. | My Tumblr |
Duff
Xenocide is so engaging. I don't know how I ever put it down in the first place. Definitely planning on finishing it during this break. I don't doubt that directly afterwards I'll start the fourth book of the series (Children of the Mind). | My Tumblr |
Range_This11
I started reading the book Legend by David Gemmell. I received it for Christmas from my younger cousins. We usually send each other science fiction/fantasy novels every year. I've never heard of it before, anyone ever read it? Duff
I'll give it to you, they kinda start off slow. But when you get past a certain point, they'll be among the best books you've read. As for me, I finished Xenocide this morning (woke up at 10am, stayed in bed until now to finish it). The ending was interesting. Definitely have to start on Children of the Mind tomorrow (or later today). I was never much into science fiction. It's always been medieval fiction (Lord of the Rings, The Belgariad, The Mallorean, etc). But these books rank equally with all those other books. | My Tumblr |

Ellac
Finished reading Inheritance, which I got as a present on Christmas. I was rather disappointed with the ending, but I couldn't put it down. :| Thanks to Iglw for the amazing signature!
mlskid
Finished reading Inheritance, which I got as a present on Christmas. I was rather disappointed with the ending, but I couldn't put it down. :| Same story here... blah, I thought the ending was really disappointing, especially as to how it all ended. Oh well, I was lifted back up when I read the acknowledgements and he said that he was going to leave the storyline of Alagaesia open in case he wanted to come back to it... I was immediately praying for that.lol Summoning help:[hide=Wio, lol][/hide]

Randox
Finally finished Oryx and Crake. At first I didn't think it was going to be a good book, but it actually is. [hide=BIG SPOILERS]It does sort of have the same premise as I Am Legend though.[/hide]Excellent book, and I will NEVER read it, or anything else by that author, ever again. I'm just a sucker for something that is at least close to being a happy ending. I just read the first book in the Hunger Games. So good I did it front to back in one sitting, which took a solid 6 hours while I was supposed to be sleeping. Kinda regretted that. I expect I will go throught the next two at a similar pace. I find the book to be similar to the Japanese movie Battle Royale. Might have even been an inspiration. The actual story though was quite different, it just shares some similar elements (specifically the hunger games themselves are a close resemblance, but better). When the movie comes out, we will finally have a battle royale in English  I'll be interested to see how they handle all the nudity though (nothing explicit in the book, but a lack of clothes gets mentioned in the book several times). Easily my favourite book I have ever read after the Belgariad and Mallorean co series.

Randox
Is that like a sequal to it or something? I thought it was a standalone. If it is, maybe I'll get you to fill me in

If it is, maybe I'll get you to fill me in  [hide]It focuses on another group in the same world apparently. Remember God's Gardeners? The group that Jimmy's mom was in I believe. It focuses on their side of things. Anyway, this is according to the Internet (considering I didn't read the book yet).[/hide]

hellbellz
I started the first 100 pages or so on a car ride recently of Stephen King's 11/22/63. It's so interesting to just listen to King's characters and how real they act and perceive the world around them. If anyone is just a casual Stephen King reader, I recommend this book. unkn0wnwarrior
^I've never tried reading any. I'm currently reading some John Grisham. A Time to Kill, maybe followed by The Chamber. I've got about 10 of his books to read.
