Why can't F2P have...?

Think for a second that you're Jagex. You read those forums and see that there are a LOT F2P people who want an achievement cape. There are even people buying membership just to get a cape. Well if I was Jagex, I would think: "There are people buying membership just for the capes, we make less money if we make the capes free."

I think that's why they're still P2P.

Thank you Tych0 for not using the cliche answers.

I think F2P players deserve a better way to raise Crafting. In a member's world, spinning flax at a low crafting level can easily raise it. F2P have to get cowhides by the 1ks to even attempt to raise it. I think this needs to be changed. :D

They could make flax and bowstings a nonmember item. Then we could raise it by collecting flax from a new patch north of remington or buy the stuff and spin it. It would lower prices for member fletchers possibly giving them a better profit margin for yew longs. Should even make a great profit for low-mid leveled f2pers by buying flax and spining it.

That is what I think.

not bragging or anything as being a member, not trying to a smart aleck, but the reason the f2p does not get member items because f2p does not pay for the game, they play for free. If Jagex gives member stuff to f2p, all members would quit and become f2p, which means no more money for Jagex. And if you say "well we only want part of the stuff!" Well then players will feel Jagex has giving up on not making f2p updates, which means more f2p will be begging for more stuff and more stuff. And another thing, you have to be member to get skillcapes, you dont have to be member to use it's emote

Well, dont no if thats neccesarily the case because f2p still gives a reasonable sum of cash to Jagex becuz of the ads. I mean the ads must generate a nice tidy amount of cash, and adding some stuf to non mems from mems wouldnt be that bad, i mean its not like were asking for every p2p thing to be put on f2p (i just want more bank space, jagex is making 5 mil per month + Ads on f2p, and i dont see y they cant put 2 or 3 more lines in banks for f2p.).

No, f2p don't give that money to Jagex, the advertisers do, and so Jagex gives YOU something, instead of you giving them something.

Personally the main thing F2p should have is also access to their capes of achievement. i mean why not, they can still get to 99... now the quest one won;t be possible and of course all members skills, but hey, guy manages 99 str or attack of def in f2p and thats amazing, cause it's a lot harder in f2p then in p2p lol.

But for forums. i wouldn;t support f2p having access mostly because those things are already way to busy and people would make multiple account to post on the forums. just remember. if you have a friend thats p2p he can always post for you. and truth is. most things on those forums, all you gotta do is search for someone buying and you're good. or search for someone selling and check who on thread is buying, cause you can always offer...

About the fourms they could have one fourm for members that you have to log on a member account to get into and a seperate non members fourm that you have to log on a members or non members account to use.

The only problem with that is websites making free accounts and advertizing on the free fourm :-k but thats what mods are for anyways.

Maybe they shouldn't make the achievement capes totally non-members.

I think they could make so that when you leave members it doesn't appears in your inventory as "members object". It would just be some kind of non-member object, that you can only buy in member worlds. This could be a solution for the people that only become member for the cape and after a month go back to non-members... Certainly when those people have 2 99 skills. What's the fun of having 2 capes when you can only wield 1 of them and the other one is just appearing as a member object?

To become a member simply to buy the cape though isn't an option for some people nor is it very logical in my mind. Therefore if they were to make it a non-member item they may as well make it obtainable in non-members worlds.

they should make lost cuty f2p because then dds and d long could be used in f2p wildy which would make pking their much easier aginst all those f2p pures with 40 att and realy hi str
Not a very good idea. As for your reason, the pures would simply get 60 attack if that were the case, yes?

Iwould like to see three things included for f2p. then I would not say that there is any other thing That i, personally would want to see:

1) 1 f2p forum. used by both f2p and p2p. tough p2p probably won't use it.

2) some ranged quests. f2p is biased towards melee, then mage. there is not any ranger quests.

3) Capes of achievements. Including a f2p quest cape (f2p worlds only. Given to you if you have done all f2p quests. has less bonuses than the otehr quest capes.)

Sounds good, but every F2Per and their cousin has done all the quests. The quest capes would be as common as the SoS boots or the F2P scammer/autoer/moron. (Hee hee. :P )

It was their choice to train them in F2P. If they want the capes, they pay. That is why Jagex keeps them P2P. By the time someone reaches 99, they are a loyal player. If Jagex can suck them into P2P, then there is $5 every month.

dude thats [developmentally delayed]ed if someone gets 99 in str atk or def then they shouldnt have topay $5 a month for a cape if they get 99 str,atk or def then they should have the right to get the cape os acheivment

So you would place all the skill masters, for non-member skills, to a non-member area? And make the capes totally non-members? That's a thing that's never going to happen, JaGEx won't earn money that way... Like I said before just make them semi-non-member or something like that.

I tink us p2p should give the f2p the games room... then theyll be happy and use it all the time becuase heck we never use it!

Make a hole in the ground that the f2p can crawl through and go straight into the castle, but cannot leave.

I really think that Jagex should add a better wizard top. Warriors earn the right to wear the rune plate body by completing the dragon slayer quest; same with archers and the green dragonhide body. What do mages receive? A pat on the back and some melee xp. Making this new wizard armor as an intermediary between the regular blue/black wizard top and the mystic robes should not harm the RuneScape economy because there would still be the incentive to become a member and wear the much better mystic, infinity, splitbark... armor. As a back-up, it would also be effective if we could buy a wizard bottom in the Wizard Tower after defeating the dragon.

Hm I wouldnt like that some masters would be moved for example the fishing master from the fishing guild, maybe they can make that the masters of f2p-skills which are in members world, they have an apprentice in the f2p worlds, for example the fishing apprentice would be at the river in barbarian village, the magic apprentice maybe somewhere in varrock palace (the grey guy?) the ranging apprentice in the back of the varrock arrow store...

Wouldn't that work?

What I had meant was that the capes would be "fully F2P" as he put it. Not necessarily that the skill masters would be moved. And yeah that would work Constanti, there is many ways to make it work really.

Although I have posted it a few times before, here was the idea I had come up with awhile back:

What if there was a portal that took you to the skill master to buy the cape. In F2P worlds you would not be able to leave the area or interact with anything besides the skill master. Thoughts?

I think that F2P really needs a couple more updates every year than we have been getting. P2P people say that the new Varrock benefits us also, but not in any skill-related way. The new Museum is only for members, and while I enjoy the new look, I don't spend every moment on Runescape admiring the scenery!

That being said, here is what I think we should get, though not all at once by any means:

  • More Bank Space- I am a mage and crafter, and I don't have enough room for my melee armor once I put all my runes, magic armor, and crafting supplies in the bank.

New Mage Robes- Melee fighters can use any armor up to Rune and Rangers can use armor up to green dragon. That is 7 different levels of melee and 4 different levels of ranged armor. Mages have blue and black robes. There aren't any stat differences, so that means mages only have the 1 level of armor.

F2P spells- After Fire Blast, mages don't have much incentive to level up. A warrior's max hit increases when he advances strength levels, and A ranger's max hit increases when he advances ranged levels. A mage's max hit doesn't get any higher unless he is using a different spell. Why can't we get another spell between the Blast and Wave spells?

Prayer potions- would be nice if P2P could sell them in F2P.

I personally don't ever have any bankspace problem at all even though I do both combat and skills. I would advice you to throw/sell aways things which you are not planning to use for the next few weeks of gaming sessions

Agreed. However, mages are able to in some way negate their low armor disadvantages against melee through the spell bind. P2P mage armors don't provide any form of melee defence bonus at all except for some special ones

Higher magic lvl allows your spells to hit more accurately.

Prayer potions- would be nice if P2P could sell them in F2P.

Unnecessary. There is no specific monster in f2p that requires protective prayer to fight and fighting with protective prayer on being a more effective method to fight such a monster.

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

Not to flame, but for crying out loud, just pay the lousy $5 a month. I don't get how ANY F2P player thinks they have the right to demand things, and complain that P2P get all the good updates. Of course we do, we pay for the priviledge! It's like hanging about outside of a cinema, complaining that all thje paying customers get to see the movie, when all you have to look at is the poster.

Maybe I'm completely offbase here, but for a game that doesn't cost them anything to play, F2P make out pretty well. Go find another good MMPORG that offers what RS has and doesn't charge you a dime.
