End of an Era... probably...

Woox16 was an idol among non-PvMers who don't understand how easy monster hunting in runescape is. Nobody else really cares.

Fixed it for you

I don't know Woox personally but I remember him b/c of his TDS log, it was pretty impressive he had like 50 dragon claw drops or some ridiculous amount. You never wanna see anyone quit, but life (or i guess runescape?) goes on.

And not a single ____ was given that day.

Hi.

I noticed you seem to think your retort is somewhat witty or something like that, seeing as you posted the exact same thing in the similar thread.

Just letting you know that somebody else already wrote exactly what you did, except that other person did it better

Never heard of him.

Never corp'ed or nex'ed myself in my entire runescape career.

Never will.

Meh. Some 15 year old kid got bored and started looking for reasons to quit. Understandable. End of an "era"? Hardly. This will be something people mention, but nobody really truly cares about. (And nobody should tbh...)

Slack_Tide.png

Meh Woox was just a sequel to The Murder 21 (and a lot of the things he did were essentially copies of TM21's vids). There'll be another one along before too long.

And not a single ____ was given that day.

Nobody ever quits this game.

I've seen a lot of players that I'd personally consider prominent leave in the past.

However, usually pro players are driven away because they think the runescape community sucks.

They aren't driven out by Jagex's actions directly.

The only people I've seen threaten to leave, or leave runescape over Jagex blunders have more or less been anonymous nobodies.

Like, in that regard, I'll concede that w00x symbolizes a regression for Jagex in that regard.

But at the end of the day, runescape "idols" aren't as respected or as influential as in other games.

Both in regards to the game developers and the community.

Naaxi.png

Jagex will cross the line for me when they start to hunger for money too much. The community is already a mess as it is. I'm seeing PvP pures and jerks wherever I go, skilling, PvM'ing. It's disgusting.

This.

I don't think there was very much good in this "era" anyway.

Im a pure but im not rude or a jerk. :(

A 15 year old quits Runescape. NOBODY CARES.

I wouldn't call one player quiting the end of an era.

Afterall, nobody refers to old runescape as the Zezima era.

He just successfully trolled you with "courtesy" and managed to get a reaction out of you. Lol

Woox will be forgotten over time, but I must say I am pretty impressed with the stuff he has done in terms of MH'ing. He isn't the best out there, and one can say his videos lead him to "fame" (meaning there are plenty of others out there just the same but without the nice vids).

Now, I also agree that this doesn't deserve a topic of his own, but reading the topic does give me the chance to highlight two things:

1. Many of you relentlessly make the guy look like some drama queen with hormones acting up, he just said he was leaving without some grand spectacle of drama and ROFL/LOL words. If you'd compare his actions with many others, and especially of his age, I think he's more mature than the majority of people. So no need to start saying he's mad. For someone that notorious, he was awfully silent and good mannered during his time spent on RS (of course I only deduce this from vids, rumours, forums, ...). It's not only about him, but lots like to rip on whatever person is brought up here, mostly based on ridiculous statements.

2. Woox had some valid reasons to quit that we should care about. The getting maxed and finding the game boring is his personal one, and not for us to debate. But the popularity of RS HAS gone down. Compared to pre-"wildy return", my experience tells me there is a crapload of botter, scammer, hacker influx into the game. I've found friends around me getting hacked by some ingenious tricks (in case some of you are itching to respond with "own fault!"). And the attitude of Jagex not holding it's promise is dissappointing.

Didn't know who he was until reading this thread. He's no Zezima that's for sure.

Why is this still up and the much better thread locked?

Woox will be forgotten over time ...

Who's "Woox"?

nyuseg.png

His announcement to quit could very well be the first bouncy pebble that causes an avalanche...

No it won't. Woox16 is a nobody, at the end of the day. His departure is closer to the end of a fart than the end of an era.

Okay -- there's a visual I didn't need ...

No, wait, not a "visual" -- an "audible"?

... "sound effect"?

I have no intrest in helping "keyers" farm xp.

who the hell is this guy? i think the zarfot thread should be unlocked as long as this one is open... this is the dumbest thing i have seen on these forums (and there have been alot)..

how could a nobody quitting cause any more ppl to quit... By that logic...having zarfot/zezima/n0valyfe/ quit would cause WWIII to break out...

This, I didn't know who this person was until I read this topic. I think one less person isn't going to change ANYTHING about anything.

287b5w.jpg

I genuinely have no idea who this "woox16" is, never heard of the name until this topic actually.

I can't actually see why this topic is still open if I'm honest.

This, though I do know who he is. Zezima and Zarfot were more well known and in Zarfot's case more influential than Woox16 and yet when they quit we didn't get a topic about it because really, no matter what you do in RS you will always be just "one player".

Pretty much every post in this topic has been people saying they don't know who he is or care that he quit, so it's not really the end of an era

I will probably quit RS for good if they make it possible to buy items or money.

This thread is still open because SOME people actually understand why its open and respond in it accordingly :)

Woox16 quit for a number of reasons (which he explains in the blatently obvious to spot video)... Some of which are personal, but others are reasons that Jagex is directly responsible for...

THOSE reasons (and the possible snowball effect of people quitting over an update) are why this thread is still open, regardless of 90% of you saying something along the lines of "Who's woox and dont bother explaining cuz I dont care"...
