Maybe in order to make it less of an endurance fight, yet similar to nex, she'll summon waves of dragons?

And with something that massive a swinging tail might as well be considered a ranged attack if it comes from a distance.

Trouble with summoning iron/steel dragons is that they are metal dragons (which the kbd/qbd are not) and also that they are very weak comparatively. You could really only put brutal (black) dragons in a decent fight because of the additional magic attacks do not allow tanking as easily. But you can still tank lots of things with ganodermic or just Bandos.

I doubt she'll summon anything at all personally since they said not an endurance fight more like Nomad with physically dodging attacks.

'"And with something that massive a swinging tail might as well be considered a ranged attack if it comes from a distance." - Regardless of how far away the tail is, if the tail itself is physically hitting you it is melee.

Melee = stuff physically connected to the attacker hitting you.

Ranged = physical objects flung at you.

Sure the tail may be long enough to reach over while it's base is far away, but if the tail itself is reaching you to hit you it is gonna be a melee attack, that just simply what the words mean.

To be honest, I don't see this boss being anywhere near the level of Nex. The clues are in the BTS really. When Nex came out they basically said if you weren't maxed you weren't going to get far. This one is pitched towards a minimum combat level of 120. Sure it will probably be hard, just not that level of hard.

The mention of Nomad is making me think more along the lines of her being able to do a dodgable attack that hits max life points -1.

For those who have played the game 'Darksiders', I think it may have similarities to the boss monster known as "Straga". Only thinking of it cause Straga is massive and his arena where you fight him has a similar shape as the QBD concept one

Apparently in some Modcast the developer said they copied the base stats of Nex onto the QBD, though.

Then we now know Magic is not going to work against the QBD. That leaves melee and range. Personally I hope range with dragonbane bolts will be the most effective.

That's true but doesn't the majority of Nex's damage come from her special attacks? Besides, this is a solo boss and considering Nex is practically impossible to solo bar the few bugs that people abuse I can't see her being in the same league.

EDIT: I'll just put this here.

Awesome. More chances to win stuff I won't be able to claim.

Still, it's good for members to get a chance to win some of this stuff that's not available any other way.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

Dangit, and I've been destroying all my spin tickets lol. Stock up on earned spins and try for these stupid cosmetics, or stick to my SoF refusal which has already lasted a week ... ugh.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

You realize that half of RuneScape will be walking around with those cosmetic items if they are indeed occupying the common slots on the wheel?

To be honest I think of this more as a holiday item. Lots of people will get it but later on down the road less and less people will have them. Not to mention this is a 2 day deal. However, this would set precedence to do it multiple times such as cryptic clue fest rewards.

I kind of hate the options we have.

1) Spend 20$ on 75 spins and have a pretty good chance of snagging them all. (Personally, I have no problems with this as they're purely cosmetic, but you can receive xp lamps for cash which I'm against)

2) Test our chances on the wheel w/o the bonus weekend and have such a rare chance of getting them that a party-hat would be a more reasonable goal.

Assuming they'll let me recieve it from Diango. Some of us aren't getting that option. I have had a three month card going since like may 1st without a lapse in subscription.
