All those poor guys going for 120 DG, going to get screwed over by a level 12 divination door.

What does the 'kot' in the name mean, anybody know?

Protect/save, I think, which would make sense with Jad's healers being called "Yt-MejKot". In this context, probably "saviour" or "protector"... so probably not helpful.

So if it's a dead ga'al protector...then it'll be a rock, in a place of fighting?

EDIT: Saw on the RSOF thread that somebody mentioned it may have been dead :P

You just know that the 'bookcase' is going to contain some really underwhelming information that wasn't even worth finding out.

[01:24:34] CJ Hunnicutt: it takes skill to be that [bleep]ing stupid

Something special is totally gonna be the html5 engine beta we already know is due in april from various jmod sources I reckon.

That or it's gonna be surprise new skill next week!

Obviously by 'next week' I mean the last week in April since the video itself will be out next week, making 'next week' from the video perspective the last week in april.

Does anyone know the FC for searching for the lost Ga'al? I'd be interested in helping find it if I could.

Does anyone know if we are getting the wilderness war bands this week?

I have a feeling that it will come next week because we got the rules update on gambling yesterday.

Also, isn't War Bands the only update left planned for this month?

No, we also have the Easter Event, so if I had to guess we will get Warbands next week, with Easter on Thursday. At least I think so... I'm not so sure though.

I thought it said the guthix butterflies were there instead of an easter event.

EDIT:

Is the Tribute to Guthix this year’s Easter event?

Mod Maylea: Sadly, due to the gamechanging circumstances brought by the death of Guthix, there is no Easter event this year.

pile of lore

among other notable things is the statement that the next quest is going to involve the temple knights, and that it could go into more detail on saradomin's lore perhaps?

(that part is speculation though)

feel free to babble at length about what this year will bring, though

I think the Temple Knights related quest the start of Sir Owen's questline, I seem to remember them saying his quests would be starting early this year.

Bits I liked from the big Lore QA

1) Ancient mage should soon have it's old names back.

2) Karamajan god will be central to a lot of upcoming story

3) Theres 1 god who used to be a Gielinor mortal that we dont have back story to yet.

4) Theres a god whose name appears more than once of the world map that we dunno about at all yet (My personal theory is Avarrocka or Ardougne - Ardy cause it appears twice Avarrocka cause they've built it like 3 times! First at the digsite, then at current local then rebuilt at current local as Varrock)

5) The Elder Twelve mostly have built in defence mechanisms akin to the Stone having the Dragonkin

6) The Tokhaar have been reconfirmed as one of the 12, meaning we know 6 for sure (staff, sword, horn, stone, crown, tokhaar)

7) Mortals can become gods by spending a lot of time around elder artefacts

8) There are more than 3 Elder Gods and they are elemental (as seen in the vid) - but only the 3 are associated with Gielinor - also an Elder god other than Jas is specifically mentioned in the lore already. (Totally Dramen I reckon)

9) There are currently 7 tiers of God that Jagex have worked out BTS, each with at least 1 god in them

9a) They mentioned Amascut is a demigod, which is the lowest tier of godhood, though she is a strong demigod.

9b) They also mentioned Zamorak is an ascending god

9c) They said the desert Pantheon was entirely unaffected by the Edicts

9d) So we got at least 5 tiers of god right there - Demigod, Tumeken's level somewhere between the demis and the gods, Ascending gods, gods, elder gods

9e) I'd speculate the missing levels are possibly splitting 'gods' into the 'younger gods' and the 'old gods' and perhaps 'new god' or something for gods that have just been made and have yet to start ascending (eg gathering more godly power)

10) Apparently Seren took 'extreme measures' to avoid the Edicts

11) Explanation of the universe/multiverse thing - Swiss Cheese. Each hole is a universe with a solar system or two and a few planets, the cheese itself is the void known as the abyss which we utilize for teleportation.

12) All the Elder Twelve are going to end up in Gielinor eventually and will be important to coming events (though the tokhaar won't be included story-wise) but the 'majority' already are here ergo there has to be at least 1 more we dunno of to give 7/12 (I'd guess the enchanted key based on previous qa randomly mentioning it)

13) Zaros confirmed as the God of Control (sidebar: woot all my years of theory kinda right I always said 'might' which is kinda the same thing roughly)

14) Daelyt Ore highlights a weakness of Vampyres/Vyres

15) The Bloodline of the Vyrelords and Icyene is complicated - heavy implications they come from the same source.

16) Guthix is so powerful despite being a relatively new god because he stabbed Tuska, killed Skargaroth and had a long time alone with the sword, staff, horn and stone (which is the most powerful artefact) to basically supercharge him.

17) Brassica Prime is a real god, but not one who will be further explored

18) Duel Arena is currently being overhauled (at least graphically) and the overhaul will bring lore and design elements that explain who built it and why.

This is a downright crazy explanation, time will tell if it's the kind that's just crazy enough to work.

Makes sense though and it does kinda iron out the issue we had where everything was shown as a universe but had multiverse references.

Yeah, it makes sense, I'm just not sure what to think of that explanation. On one hand, it's a fairly unique approach to one and they've actually made it work. On the other, it works more or less the same way as a 'vanilla' universe (with some fairly ridiculous flavor, if you know a bit about astronomy), and they could just use the abyss in the same way that other fantasy uses planes.

I guess it depends on what they do. The abyss could actually be pretty unique, if they gave it some attention.

1) yay

2) Marimbo? we havn't gotten any other karamaja gods have we?

3) based on number 2 i'm gonna go with marimbo for new back story, or maby armadyl and he/she used the staff to become a god while guthix was sleeping?

5) Is interesting. I'm guessing that the crowns defense mechanism is that it attracts other elder users whenever its power is used. and could its defense mechanism explain why guthix's sword broke?

6) Is it the tokaar who are an elder item or could they mean the forge instead? then what does that make the tzhaar? and can we then make lesser copies of elder items?

10) I'm gonna guess that to avoid the edicts seren gave up her god hood and literally became the crystal the elves use. Able to protect them with her very essence and didnt it say somewhere that by communing with crystal the elves commune with seren or some such thing.

13) Really zaros makes no sense at all as the god of control. Look at his strongest followers. Marahajatt, dragonriders and by extension dragons, demons. All of which by definition are extremely independant beings who would resist any form of control imposed by zaros unless it benefits them. He was just asking to be overthrown then. The power theme from the zaros thread fits so much better.

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!
