August 25, 200619 yr This week's Tip.It Times has been released. Feel free to discuss the article or post any comments. If you have any criticism, please make sure it's constructive! :D Had a Wonderful Vacation. Did You Miss Me? The Editor The weather at Catherby beach is lovely this time of year. The fishing was excellent and just for a change, there were very few silly rude kids or River Trolls. Had a couple of good games of gnomeball on the beach, got myself a nice tan and even managed to stock up on a few lobsters... Click here to read the rest of this article. August 25, 200619 yr nice atricle well written and its so tru jagex really does seem to neglect the higher level players. especially ranger like me
August 25, 200619 yr good article, all tanned from catherby beach :) the game could do with more top end armour , but then everyone would complain because they couldn't wear it / couldn't afford it , im sure Jagex will think of a way to bring it in , in their own sweet time...
August 25, 200619 yr Nice article. I can't say the whole thing of Jagex neglecting high-levels really effects me, as my skills aren't all that high, but I still think that would be nice. Except for the thousands of people complaining about how they can't get it. -.- [People complain enough about restrictions like 'h0mgz! 50 herblore!?!?!?!/!!/!111', I shudder to think how much whinging there would be if armour came out for level 90 att/str/def.] Cool.
August 25, 200619 yr Editor, I dunno who you are... but I have to wonder, do you realize the impact of a higher level in the prayer attribute? It more than lasts longer, and in a bad situation with a random event evil spawn, IT MIGHT JUST SAVE YOUR REAR AND GET YOU THAT NICE DROP YOU WANT!!! 'Nuff said. Shame on you man (or woman, if you are one!) ... :shame: ~Mr. D. V. Devnull (Note: Yes, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. So please, feel free to have a laugh, but please don't flame me since you know I am right... Heck, I am sitting here, doing a "" in my mind right now since this was enough to cool my jets...) [Edit] and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)
August 25, 200619 yr Since when has tip.it times stopped being articles and morphed into a blog? I mean, nicely written and all, but it's way too bloggish. It's not tackling an issue that concerns all and in no way does it invite others into it. It's just "The Ed thinks this, Ed thinks that". Sorry, but this is what I'd politely call "A filler" :| This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
August 25, 200619 yr do you realize the impact of a higher level in the prayer attribute? It more than lasts longer, and in a bad situation with a random event evil spawn, IT MIGHT JUST SAVE YOUR REAR AND GET YOU THAT NICE DROP YOU WANT!!! Out of interest, what does having 90 prayer, as opposed to having 52 prayer, do in a fight besides last longer? I'm not flaming you or anything, I just don't know. Cool.
August 25, 200619 yr White d hide: lvl 80 range \ Tbfgraphx14Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.

Out of interest, what does having 90 prayer, as opposed to having 52 prayer, do in a fight besides last longer? I'm not flaming you or anything, I just don't know. Simple long and short, it also defends you from losing HP with the protect prayers, which buys you the time to land the extra damage to kill your target before it can have a chance of doing you in. In short, the more prayer, the more of a pre-emptive strike you can mount to just get the drop items! My usual is this: If it costs me more than my prayer to get a random event kill drop, it likely wasn't worth it!!! ~Mr. D. V. August 25, 200619 yr good article i think that all the new quests these days have high requirments but they aren't combat ones, they all need like 60 smithing and crafting for example they should make some more quests which involve the most used thing in the game, combat and reward us with some more DECENT armour not like the tyras helm, how pointless! they should stop with the poncy insignificant armour and make more "real"armour like barrows drag and rune etc Sig by me....
August 25, 200619 yr to a certain point i have to agree with bubsa, but the article did contain some insight. many players have been waiting for a high level (80+ in a skill) armor or weapon for some time. to see that come would be a really awesome thing. and also, i think prayer is a very useful skill, especially for any decent warrior/ranger/mage. to say that having prayer above 49 isn't that big of a deal, to state that "higher prayer lasts longer. Big deal[,]" then right afterward stating that high level agility gives the "useful ability to run longer" is quite contradictory. this makes me think that The Editor was just trying to think of things to write and forgot to check the quality of his article- signs of a filler. proud quest cape ownerhere's my first post on the TIF (scroll to the bottom)feel free to pm me, but do make sure that i know you're a Tip.It user (in other words, give me a HYT)
August 25, 200619 yr Thanks for the article and the insight. I have mixed feelings about "high level stuff" in terms of weapons and armor. Sure, it gives the lower level people something to reach for, but the lack of such levels the playing field up in the wilderness just a bit. On the other hand, I am interested in adding stuff to the game that gives the high-levels something to do - something that is not only interesting and captivating, but doesn't involve repetitive motion injuries from doing the same action a half a billion times. So what could this be? Well... I'm working on it. Watch the suggestions forum soon because this idea I have will blow you away - and I guarantee that you've not seen it before here on tipit (I know, I checked already). - Sligo I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but, I am not sure you realize tht what you heard is not what I meant.
August 25, 200619 yr I really enjoy these articles but there is one thing Id like to let you know. As of July there were 9 million active Rs accounts worldwide.
August 25, 200619 yr I think the whole article was bogus, for the simple reason that DRAGON IS NOT THE BEST WEAPONS AND ARMOUR IN THE GAME. I'd like to see his research done again, accounting for the fact that BARROWS WEAPONS AND ARMOUR ARE BETTER, and require 70 attack/defense, as opposed to 60. =; :shame:
August 25, 200619 yr This article seems out-dated, the editor asked for lvl 70/ 80 defence armour, well it's been out for a while- barrows. Only saw one mis-spelling-fairly Other than that, a good enough read.
August 25, 200619 yr I like this one it's voiceing a lot of my thoughts about skills in the game. my latest annoyence is the upgrade of the d axe with such a low requirement surely it should be lvl 75+ as it means that lower lvls can now reach higher lvls easier. By normal economy trends this means we will have a sudden rush of magic logs as more players reach the higher lvls and are able to chop them faster but by contrast maple/yew sales may suffer because everyone is chopping magics......not in my opinion the best state of affairs. Not to mention the compusary tripling of d axe prices as soon as the announcement was made.
August 25, 200619 yr That really doesn't mean half the players can weild the "ultimate" armor. It just means they have 60 defense to do it. :? back to rs, i guess. it's been 4 months. RSN:P H Osho <- gonna start on him soon, fresh.
August 25, 200619 yr New article :) Time to read! Edit: Don't really like the article. It's more hating the game in my opinion... And begging for new stuff. Also, the x-number who says members pay and should get more. We, f2p's, know about that! You don't have to say that every time!! "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"[Currently playing: K1ll L1f3]
August 25, 200619 yr Author Only saw one mis-spelling You mean faily instead of fairly in this sentence? Even the ultimate in armour, Dragon, can be worn by a faily new player with level 60 defence. That's a typo, not a spelling mistake. In any event, it's fixed. Remember, the SEARCH button is your friend. Use it!
August 25, 200619 yr Heart Unit is NOT a clan. We are just a Pest Control group, big difference. The only thing Heart Unit does together is Pest Control. Several clans, including all of the "top 10" have Heart Unit members. In a world without fences, who needs GATES?
August 25, 200619 yr Yeah, when you finish EVERYTHING that Jagex puts in the game, it might get boring. But, when you're done working with NPC's, you should somehow set some goals with other players. Start a clan, and lead it to victory. Make a goal to get x-number of wilderness kills. Try and get a screenshot of Zezima. But that's the thing. Each human-controlled-player is a citizen of runescape. They alll have something to contribute, to help others. That's what makes multiplayer games so great. :D "Dost hath not giveth thy name 'noob' to thy brethren... ...Or thou art must considereth thyself a noob as well."
August 25, 200619 yr I couldnt agree any more, we really do need some higher level weapons and armour.. but cmon jagex hasnt even finished the dragon line, who knows when will get something better then dragon -.- 70+ all skills. 17/24 skills 75+
August 25, 200619 yr I mean, nicely written and all, but it's way too bloggish. It's been like that since they got slapped for the last article attacking Jagex. ...who knows when will get something better then dragon -.- People keep forgetting, we have barrows armour. Go look up the stats on both, it's better. And I just find this line funny: Reward us for hanging in there, for coughing up our $5 every month, for sticking with the game. It isn't Jagex's job to "reward" anyone for playing Jagex's game. Just like I tell everyone else that complains like this: Don't like it? Go cough up $15 a month for WoW.
August 25, 200619 yr I completley agree with Bubsa on this. The past few Editor-written articles haven't addressed the main issues in Rs. It does feel that we're all just ready one person's opinion each week. I also didn't like the reference to Heart Unit - 'sounded like free advertising. Offline and unavailable.
