Actually everyone did NOT get this message. At least, I didn't. I sided with Lucien during the quest. :P

Because I think this topic deserves separate discussion, I'll quote Siim's post which includes the whole message:

Okay, the paper from the guard of Armadyl now:

"Alas, I regret to inform you of a dire situation, which I know you worked hard to prevent. My name is Idria. I am a leader, of sorts, of the Guardians of Armadyl. I realise that you made a supreme effort in preventing Lucien from gaining the staff of Armadyl.

Please accept my gratitude for your efforts in this endeavour, however, it seems that the resourceful Lucien has found another route to our beloved treasure. We believe a certain treasure hunter by the name of Movario had something to do with this, but, ofcourse, there is no proof.

For my own part, I wish you well and advise you be on your guard against Lucien's machinations.

Yours most respectfully,

Idria."

Got an idea. It says that Lucien found a new route. Maybe the new route is the sealed door?

Just a wild guess.

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

seems to me as if Lucien gets teh staff either way. well it's good that i teamed withg him then :D

so if this is really from teh upcoming quest, we will probably have to fight/help him.

The clock is ticking, and your time is running out, mortals.

The new route has something to do with movario, who is searching the dorgesh'kaan caverns. He is definitely working for lucien, as you can pick a lucien amulet from him, but he refuses to tell anyone exactly what he's doing.

Even with the unlocked Ring of Charos? What about Lucien himself?

Actually he does tell you what he's doing with the ring. I remember this being discussed on the thread I created after I found out how to get the RC guild master to tell me what she was searching for.

He's searching for an ancient artifact that gives off a "very specific" form of energy, similar to what the RC guild master says. As she is referring to the Eye of Saradomin aka the Stone of Jas, I can only assume that Movario is searching for the same thing, although he doesn't say outright.

Here's a wild thought: perhaps the Staff of Armadyl has the stone of Jas on it?

If you've completed the quest, "Defender of Varrock", Zemorragul (sp?) already suspects that Lucien has received the staff. Perhaps Movario is searching for the Stone of Ja to add to Lucien's collection?

If I was trying to overthrow Zem, I'd grope for every advantage I could get.

Yay wild speculation on my part! XD

Ah, sorry, I usually wait until there's like 3 new quests out to do them all. Haven't done that one yet :P

I can't help but think that there's a connection between the stone and the staff of armadyl though. What does Lucien need the staff for? Perhaps it can help him search for the stone? More wild speculation ftw.

well the stone of Jas is the source of ALL magics so, if Lucien gets it, and learns how to awaken the power of the One Staff, he will simply will become greater then any god.

According to peoples' speculations Guthix tried to destroy then hide the stone of Jas. If the god which is teh most feared (admit it everyoen are afraid of Guthixian edicts) couldn't destroy the stone, then maybe the stones power is more then Divine, Lucien would be thinking of becoming the greatest god with it, and the awakened staff.

Groping people doesn't give Lucien any advantages on Zemouregal. If that's what he tried to do, we now know why he walks with a slight 'limp'.

Matt: You want that eh? You want everything good for you. You want everything that's--falls off garbage can

Camera guy: Whoa, haha, are you okay dude?

Matt: You want anything funny that happens, don't you?

I just got it! Was about to say I didn't, but I did! This plus the rumble could very well be hints at the new quest to rule them all!

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

You also have to take into account that there are gods greater than Guthix also. Remember the Meeting History quest?

That guy was tailing me for 30 minutes.

I thought he was some part of the halloween quest because of the 'Swept away' title.
