  1. Since it seems to be a theme: Note, I'm the one in rune, shes the one in...a wizard hat, an ammy, and leather gloves.
  2. I don't think it would need any reward, the point would be to be able to say you were able to kill a certain selection of creatures under a given circumstance, would be great for people to be able to create challenges for their friends. I think that when you enter the "arena" any runes or munitions or any degrading armors should be replaced by arena versions so that the arena truly has no effect on the character aside from bragging rights. When you complete or set a challenge the game could give you a (obviously long) alphanumerical value that other people could then enter to see who did what challenge or what challenge hasn't been beat and so on. Definitely would be fun to see how many goblins it would take to to kill me if i had no armor on and so on.
  3. I kinda took "i dont think we can say anything on this matter" to mean that its not gonna happen any time soon.
  4. Not obvious at all, what if they have firefox set to use a proxy in Colorado and IE set not to? And for some reason the person decides to switch which browser he/she is using to play the game? Just because an IP shows up as being from one location, doesn't mean the player is actually anywhere near there.
  5. Far from "starting" to use, network manipulation to gain an advantage on consoles has been around since 2001 when people played xbox games over the internet using things like XBConnect or GameSpyTunnel. From personal experience I saw it used in 1999 for C&C Tiberian Sun and I know it was used in StarCraft in 1998. Theres no such thing as a lag switch, but there are many different ways to interfere with a connection. Examples: -"Bridging" a connection to force all traffic to go through one person's connection -(D)DOS'ing a person's connection to cause latency and possibly drop them from the game -Using Linux to generate random packets to cause lag -Some routers/modems have a standby button, which in some games would allow only your actions to count for a limited amount of time -and others All of these rely on client-to-client connections, but Runescape is entirely client-to-server connections
  6. I'm gonna guess that like the chicken it falls from your hands after so many whacks
  7. The onscreen keyboard raises the VK_KeyEvent delegates the same way a keyboard does, so it provides no protection.
  8. For the most part people don't bother propagating simple keyloggers anymore, simply because with the popularity of broadband internet its possible to stream alot more information than just keys, most trojans now have a VNC client as well allowing the controller to view the victim's screen in real time, negating any sort of keylogger protection.
  9. Some people really need to learn more about how the internet and computers work before they waste a page of text. Nobody has EVER had their account hacked on runescape, that would require breaching Jagex's servers and if a person was able to do that I guarantee you they wouldn't target some joe-shmo account, they would go after the credit card and billing records. Having their password cracked via attempting to login using a list of common passwords is another thing entirely. No anti-virus is perfect, especially Macafee and Norton, you're better off using nothing than either of those two. You obviously have no concept of what a router or modem does. If a person is behind a router their computer has a localized LAN IP address (usually in the form of 192.168.0.100 or similar), their modem however has an external WAN address that is seen by websites and other people and services online. While you're LAN IP might rarely change, you're WAN IP can change quite frequently depending on your ISP and whether or not you pay for a static IP address. LOL, doesn't that defeat the point? There is going to be no constructive criticism since you have no idea what you are talking about.
  10. An API for interacting with it would be nice also.
  11. ya but thats unnecessary RAM being wasted LOOOL, and you think you won't waste that RAM in Runescape? How silly. Once again, this is impossible in Java + too many technical issues + we can use our own players. Its far from impossible in java, wouldn't be too hard even. From the OP's post its unclear if they mean a player where their music is uploaded to jagex's server (which would cause a massive influx of copyright lawsuits against jagex and a ridiculous strain on their bandwidth) or a player that would be nothing more than an exact clone of say..WMP or any other media player on a person's computer already, which would be redundant and pointless, since, they already have a media player.
  12. I don't understand why you would be in denial about how famous Zezima was/is. Easily the famous Runescape player of all-time, regardless of how awesome the game was during the 'Golden Age' of RSC. Just because you're at the top of the scoreboard means nothing, the people I listed were famous for more than just how much they played, but instead for what they accomplished and how they acted. I forgot about Musashi22, he amde me a mith 2 hand a long time ago. Also andyawz belongs on my list, its a shame he quit. [/hide] Musa is back by the way :) Too bad I'm too much of a nobody to be remembered by any of them, only person on my list i ever knew was andyawz, consistently traded him natures for rune armor for a few months, but now nobody even remembers the longtime #1 smither.
  13. I think the best implementation of this would be allowing the accumulator to change appearance to that of the range cape, while still maintaining the stats of the accumulator.

  15. No, none of the other capes grant any unique bonuses, so neither should the ranged cape.
  16. TKS LadyKillJoy GearShifter LilYuffie88 The Old Nite
  17. I have yet to get any better drop than a half key and I had been a member consistently since the first week it was available :(
  18. Do you know how difficult it would be to replicate the Jagex login screen? Probably not, since you've never worked with Java before. But it would be painstakingly difficult to accurately replicate that Java login page. Best part of all, should a phisher actually manager to copy it, one or two changes of the 'glowing orbs' algorithm + wavy lines, and presto, your site is secure again. In reality, they don't bother with it since it's time consuming to do; phishing sites generally disappear without a trace in a few days. Its actually very easy to recompile the cached .class files, insert your phishing page as the target of the login data, and recompile, with only moderate java experience.
  19. WTF???? I never talked about porn! What did any of my thread have to do with porn??? FFS make some sense. "the tubes that are red" IE: Redtube What possible other context could you have meant? I fail to see anything offensive in the quote, only somebody who knows what that website is would understand the insinuation in the first place, and if somebody knew of it then its most likely not offensive towards them due to the nature of its content.
  20. First off, these things haven't been caused by lag and I haven't been playing on the extremely populated worlds. A few things I've seen that I'm wondering if anyone else has: 1) no attack animation when attacking, I was standing still with no animation and firing arrows, everyone else saw me as standing still as well 2) invisible players, and not near the avatars 3) I respawn outside the 15sec area
  21. Do you just enjoy making yourself sound ignorant? It got updated when pvp worlds came out with the miasmic spells.
  22. Mages don't need to rush anyone in order to win; what are you basing all these assumptions on? You've obviously never pvp'ed as a mage. With my stats (see sig) I can wear a full suit of melee armor, drink a sup def pot and maybe a mage pot, pray piety, stand right next to a meleer and blast him to the ground with any barrage spell as he hits 0's on me and starts whining "def noob!!!!!!!!11!!" as he dies
