  1. Unless you have evidence that they are indeed scamming, you should not report for scamming. In this instance, it is clear that they are encouraging RWT by selling real items (membership PINs) for ingame currency (GP or items) thus reportable under Encouraging Rule Breaking (since there is no longer an option to report for RWTing its self). The other option that I posted (disruptive behaviour) is the most commonly suggested rule to report for if you're unsure because it ensures Jagex looks into the context, rather than seeing 'oh, this person did not trade anyone thus could not have scammed' without looking at anything else.
  2. Yes. Report them. Personally, I would report either under 'encouraging rule breaking' or 'disruptive behaviour'.
  3. Hmm...maybe. I guess we'll have to keep an eye on that tracker for a bit. If the free 2 week P2P offer did start 2 weeks ago, we should be able to see it in the graph.
  4. Possibly, but I don't think that the free membership thing started 2 weeks ago? I thought it began like this week. Could be wrong though :/ Also, that would imply 100,000 people created accounts on the same day to have them all lapse on the same day. As popular as RS is, I don't think they're getting 100k new players per day.
  5. I think I reported half of them over the past fortnight! :P Is it a banning or a roll-back? From what I can tell, that tool checks the numerical value of the last person on the highscores. If the accounts were rolled back they would still show on the highscores, so it's safe to assume that they were banned.
  6. Well, according to that link that I posted, crafting emerald rings are -1.87 gp/exp, so you would lose 138k for 49-55. If you use a crafting potion for boost from 52, you can get away with losing only 50k.
  7. If you're looking for fast and expensive, cutting emeralds would take like 15 minutes and cost 1.9M. A balance of speed and cost would be some sort of gem jewelery. That would be like 1.5 hours and cost like 100k. Slow speed with profit, you're looking at something like spinning flax for like 4 hours and 700k profit. Those are just broad generalizations based on this spreadsheet. Also, I would assume you could pot some levels, so that could save you some time.
  8. "Were already well underway with our next generation of anti-botting software called Optimus, which is going to be released shortly, and were also currently developing ways to remove the remaining screen-scraper bots from the game. Well also be continuing to fight gold-farmers on every front." Source To me, the "and we're also" I've highlighted means that Optimus is geared toward reflection/injection. Which means they're working on killing all kinds of bots. As for Powerbot's recent claims; I've been checking in on their site to check on where they were for quite some time now. While it's obvious the claims of 'almost done' were meant to keep people coming back, it is pretty clear by how they word it, that they've been progressing. A short time ago they claimed to have a bot working but still had legal issues. Now they claim to have those legal issues taken care of. So I do trust that they will release a bot soon, which will be IMO a resurgence of level 3 throw-away bots used my the public to fund thier mains.

  11. Last year the paws lasted until 16th May and the BXPW was in March. They do not stack, however.
  12. I think what he meant was that the hardware is so old and outdated that it is physically the third largest in the internet  . Seriously though, I'm trying to find any sort of proof of this on Google right now and can't find anything to corroborate Stevew's claim.
  13. This guide will go over most of the usefull info for familiarization. Essentially, the summoning master has a student who occasionally shows up at a random mini-obelisk every couple of hours. Talking to him will allow you to enter into the 'spirit plane' where you become a familiar, and wander around the plane gathering raw shards. Once you gather 60, or time runs out you are kicked out. Talk to the student to ask about a reward. You can either get summoning seconds (worth a couple hundred K iirc) or tripple charms for up to 40 minutes (dependant on your score).
  14. Quite honestly, MATTYZ, those skills are not good money makers. Easy? Yes. Good money? No. Other than rune mining, I don't think any of those skills pass 400k/h which, compared to boss killing, is not very good. Tyler, 1 - Slayer would be your best bet for charms since you don't have the money to burst lobs. You may think about killing waterfeinds, but IMO slayer is much more productive. Be sure to do familiarization once a week. Most people use the 3x charms on waterfeind tasks to get a lot of crims very fast. 2 - Quests, I'm not sure on. I would assume people will say the Majaharaat(sp?) questline. Most common items for slayer/general combat would be bandos with a chaotic rapier (from dungeoneering, 200k tokens). 3 - It all depends on what you enjoy and what you want to do. If you're combat focused, you will want 95 prayer and high (high 80's) herblore for soul split and extreme/overload potions respectivly. Farming is nice to do slowly. Doing a herb run every so often is a great way to make decent GP in a very short amount of time.

  17. Considering this method only got popular once the OP leaked it, I'm not surprised that Jagex overlooked it. Sure, they should know about their game, and by playing it on normal accounts they should have a general feel of how people play their creations, but if someone spends 8h/day making RS, I think the last thing they would want to do is play Efficiencyscape. Also keep in mind that the percentage of players with the in depth knowledge off all things efficient is VERY low. Even most people who do efficient gameplay, I would assume, don't understand why it's efficient.
  18. I've had this problem too. I use IE9. I guess it's just that...
  19. Yeah, it's pretty clear by now that goldfarmers have found ways to bot. The first ones back you could tell were very basic screen scrapers that broke every couple of minutes, but now they're getting more complex, doing more and more. Either they've gotten REALLY good at screen scrapers, or they've broken the clusterfuster code. Regardless of how, the goldfarmers have been back for a while and are getting stronger. Also as to the lack of F2P bots; a large chunk of F2P bots before were just throw away accounts that the public used to fund their mains. Anyone looking to actually make money off goldfarming would either have to have been P2P or had a ton of accounts running. Now that there are very few public bots available, only goldfarmers are back en masse, leaving F2P mostly free from bots.
  20. Oh, I talk to goldfarmers all the time, occasionally I like to give them a kind 'ni hao ma' in hopes they respond. Perhaps I am mad, but I prefer to think I'm not :shades: . By the way, you used the thumbnail link. It's best to use the forum code, so we can see the image without having to go to the site.
  21. As Sonikku said, superheating is probably your best bet to train smithing/mage. I know Water has a great guide on youtube that outlines methods and speeds for pretty much every superheating method available to F2P. As for money making, I was writing a guide about a year ago but RL got in the way and it got set aside. I do still have my old spreadsheet (here) that you can use for general reference for skill related money making. Some of the figures and formulas may be broken, but it's more or less a general guide to show you relative profits per hour of most skilling activities. Beside the skill you will see my level is backets, such as Woodcutting (99). That's the level that I did all of the tests at. So naturally you won't be able to get, say, as many yews per hour as I did, but cutting oaks may very well be near the same speed.
  22. Quite honestly, Jagex doesn't need to focus on getting F2P to P2P. As other have said, Jagex needs fo focus on getting people into the F2P game and let the rest of the advertising do the rest. Current Playing = 111,230 Current F2P = 18,403 (16.54%) Current P2P = 92,827 (83.46%) Now assuming all members are on the highscores we get; Total P2P = 740,652 Total F2P = 146,835 So even if they get 20% of F2Pers to convert to P2P, they're only growing their subscribers by 4%. That 20% conversion rate is way too high of an estimate imo. A conversion of 5% which is slightly more realistic, would only lead to 1% increase in P2Pers. That's probably not even worth the effort of making a new advertising campaign.
  23. I was under the impression that it was agaisnt the rules. I never use mousekeys so I don't know first hand, but I was sure I read that it was... I guess I was wrong. Really? Twice as long? Then disregard my suggestion to do iron, granite would be best. I though it would be 1.5x faster max.
  24. Just a little addition, you must also only use relative motion, not absolute. So you can have keys that make the cursor move up 10 pixils, but you can't have a key that maxes your cursor move to 'position X'. I don't know if you're looking for profit as well, but fastest mining with profit that I can think of is iron ore with banking in the resource dungeon in the dwarven mines. Not the best exp/h, but the extra ~300k gp/h is quite helpful to some people who don't do high income activities like boss hunting.
