Anyone encounter this before?
I think it's most likely that you tripped the automated mute system. Looking at your clan's name, it's pretty close to the name of a common RWT company. A couple wrong letters in front of 'walmart' and you'd trigger the system.

28-Feb-2012 - Squeal of Fortune
Yeah, I've spun probably over 100 times on all my accounts and the best I've gotten is a couple medium lamps. No one has a drop sample size large enough yet, but from what I hear, most people are talking about 1/10000 for the 'grand prize'.

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
Well prepare to be madder :P 5 in <330k exp. I've heard that since the last update effigies have been dropping like crazy when it comes to slayer tasks? I had a friend who got 3 from Dark beasts, used them up then got 2 in his next task of Ice strykes. are Jagex actually listening to their players now, or like just pure fluke?? Perhaps Jagex tweaked the droprate while you're on a task? That would make most people happy because they get thier precious effigies, but still prevents people from camping one npc for effigiescape. I don't know if that's the case, it's probably dumb luck, but it could happen.

Herb profits
I don't know if they're "worth it" from an efficiency point of view, but marigolds (flower patch) sell for ~3.5k and the seed is essentially nothing.

Will Dragon Bones rise or crash after the BXP weekend?
Gilded altars do NOT work during BXPWs so technically, they shouldn't be affected by the weekend. That said, all the markets kind of go a little crazy right before BXPWs so I can't really say which way they'll go.

auto typing against rules?
It comes down to Jagex's lack of hard enforement, and peoples' general willingness to break the rules when they know the worst thing that will happen is a couple day's mute.
-
auto typing against rules?
Yes. Under 'Macroing and Use of Bots' or 'Disruptive Behaviour'. Source.

Squeal of Fortune - Question about the 10M
I don't know for sure, but I've heard rumours that the 10M prize doesn't work that way, and it's only able to be used in shops. I do not know this for sure, only heresay.

I'd like to take this time to thank tip.it....
They were hacked a while back. No one knows exactly what was taken, but it's pretty safe to say that everyones email addresses are out there now. That said, before the hacking I never got phishing emails ever. Since then I get maybe 3-4 a week max. Are you sure you didn't use that email address on another site as well?

Facebook parenting for the troubled teen
I think that his responses really shows that he's just a solid parent who was tired of his daughter not appreciating anything, not some crazy redneck who should be institutionalized as some people have said over the internet. I'm also really impressed with the appearant coolness of his daughter in taking the punishment. Yes, I'm sure she freaked out when she heard. Rightly so. But when you step back and think about it, you realize that the fathers reaction was perfectly reasonable considering how she called him out in a 'public' space while making sure that he could not see it to defend himself. I see it all the time on Fabcebook. Someone calls another person out but sets the privacy so that they can't see it. If you're going to post crap about someone, they deserve the right to see it and get their 2 cents in. I agree, he comes off as much better in the comments. I think this is for a couple of reasons. 1 - Right when the incident happened, he probably only had a few hours between seeing her video and making his response. In that time, he probably was still in the 'rage' mentality. 2 - Sitting on a computer writing a response is far different than making a video response. It seems as though the video was off the top of his head. And surely before posting the written comments he went back and edited and formatted them.

IQ Testing
In Canada (at least where I'm from) we don't have tests for post-secondary education. I'm sure if you have taken the test, they'll look at the score. But I was never required to take one, and I never heard of my friends needing to either (except the ones that went to school in the US). I was looking into taking the SATs for fun in grade 12, but the only time it was offered near me was durring baseball so I couldn't do it.

IQ Testing
I've always thought of IQ to be essentially what others in the thread have said, logic and reasoning skills. That's why most tests won't ask you factual questions like 'What is the capital of Canada' but rather questions like 'What number comes next in the series 1 - 2 - 3 - ?'. As long as you have a basic understanding of the fundamental concepts (basic language, math, etc) everyone should be on equal knowledge grounds going into the test. Memorizing the periodic table isn't going to help you in IQ tests, only having a high intelligence. While we're on the topic, does anyone know somewhere to take a real, solid IQ test? I've looked online but all I usually find are those cheap websites with corny names like 'freeiqtest4u'. On those (and I've done a fair number) I typically score in the top 1 or 2 percentile, but I'm curious to have a real test score.

The Obligatory Ice Hockey Thread
7-0 Umad Florida? Was an interesting game to say the least. First two periods were quite good with both teams playing well. Pavelec made a few great stops to keep the lead. Then the Jets just blew it open with a 5 on 1 rush to put them up 4-0 and just never looked back.

Herblore Help!!
Without knowing exactly what you're looking for, we can't give the best advice, but here are some guides for general reference. Grimy Bunyip has made a herblore spreadsheet that lays out the exp/hour and gp/exp rates of pretty much everything you could ever make. Tipit has a comprehensive guide to all things herblore including basics that you need to know, and helpful tips on attaining items. Tipit also has a handy calculator that can show you how many of each potion you need to make to get a goal level. Or, you could use the similar herblore planner to find out what level and how much exp you will get for making any number of potions.

the price of a coin
I won 10k gp, and it's plain ol' gp. Nothing else to it. My friend told me otherwise.... <_< It's appearantly only the 10M reward that can only by used in stores. The easiest way around this would be to buy shards, then sell them back at the same price.

My pre-paid 1 month card won't work!
It can take up to 24 hours for the confirmation from the store to get to Jagex to confirm that the card was sold and not stolen. If it's any longer than that, you could try the RSOF and they may be able to help.

Chopping Oaks
Bots. Goldfarmers seem to have cracked clusterflutter a while ago, and public bots just did recently. With this comes large number of accounts training on things like oaks in order to get the levels to cut yews or magic trees. Also, they're not half bad money in F2P so it's actually a viable training method for WC meaning real players also cut oaks.

What do you do when you're left home alone?
I do exactly what I would normally do, but with music. 2 reasons I don't normally listen to music. 1 - my housemates ask me to turn it down even if it's so quiet that I can hardly hear it, let alone them in the other rooms with the doors closed, and 2 - for some reason people like to make fun of me because I'm a huge Carrie Underwood fan

This "free trial"
I made a new account today to get the 2 weeks free trial so I could try out the new Troll Warzone. I did not get the trial. Is this only for people who have never been P2P on an account (I assume Jagex can check that via the cache?) or is it limited to a certain geographical location (I live in Canada)?

Got report problem here
Well, just saying that they are doubling is not breaking any rules. However there are a few things you can often report them for; Disruptive behaviour - this is often called the 'spam rule'. A lot of the time doublers either use autospamers or type the exact same thing hundreds of times in a row in hopes of attracting a person or two. If they are flooding the chatbox, I report for this. Scamming - Simply saying 'doubling' is not scamming, but often said things are reportable for scamming such as demanding the double be done in two trades. Encouraging rule breaking - If they claim to have hacks / bots / cheats I occasionally report for this (depending on the context and wording, it can also be done under disruptive behaviour, exploiting a bug, etc). It's pretty rare to see people claim this now, but I do see it.
