  1. The problem is that in order to have 'competitive prices' Jagex would have to price their GP ridiculously low. Even competition among bot sites has taken GP from ~$2.50usd per mill at the start of free trade to $0.70. There's simply no way that Jagex can undercut the prices that these RWT sites can offer because they use so many bots. Not to mention the massive inflation that would happen.
  2. #1 @SerpentEye I've only seen 2 F2P snipes here so in my opinion, GE should be allowed for F2P worlds since it's so rare to see Tipiters there.
  3. Superheat and smelting gold ores till 88, then addy plates should be the fastest way. Dunno about gold exp rates but addy plates apearantly maxes at 280k exp/h based on game ticks, though I only managed like 230k exp/h.
  4. Fixed the title for you.
  5. Gold ores with gauntlets = 1.60 gp/exp @ 80k exp/h Superheating gold ores = 4.12 gp/exp @ 104k exp/h Superheating and smelting = 3.00 gp/exp @ 153k exp/h Mining gold and superheating @ LRC = 0.43 gp/exp @ 48k exp/h Again, all taken from Grimy's spreadsheets. Sacred clay hammers would halve the gp/exp, but the time to get them cancels the time saved so if it you enjoy SC, it can be handy. Also, you'll need 88 smithing to do addy plates which means you'll have to get a few levels first.
  6. As for 'best' ways to smith, I'd say platebodies. From Grimy's Spreadsheets; Iron = 3.02 gp/exp @ 105k exp/h Steel = 10.95 gp/exp @ 157k exp/h Mtih = 12.33 gp/exp @ 210k exp/h Addy = 3.46 gp/exp @ 262k exp/h * Note: exp/h values for Grimy's spreadsheets are based off game ticks and max values, the max I ever managed with addy plates was 230k exp/h and that was paying full attention. Usually I use 75% as a good estimate of my exp/h versus the max, but that's based on my play style, not neccesarily everyone's. More AFK would be artisans workshop. AFIK using iron ingot iii you can get 100k exp/h which is as good as you'll get doing iron platebodies.
  7. World 7 is the 'official' F2P homeworld for Tipit, so I'm always there. Though, I rarely see anyone else I regognise there. I have however been HYTsniped there once, so I guess I`m not the only one who used it. A good part about W7 is that, since it`s the Dunge homeworld there is nearly always 1500+ people so resources respawn at a good rate, but enough of those people are in Dunge that the spots are just as full as any other world. The bad part is that full worlds = target for RWT spambots, But I clear them out pretty fast :shades:
  8. If its just a deposit box you wouldnt be able to access your entire bank, just move stuff from your inv to your bank That's what I mean. If you're in the mining guild you'll most likely be banking at Fally East bank so you can withdraw urns every trip, but if you're at the resource dungeon or the coal trucks the space taken up by the urns is not worth the extra time it takes to deposit every few owes mined.
  9. Note: That my last post was assuming that you're using a deposit box and not an actual bank. If you are say, mining in the mining guild, it is probably worth while to use 1 or 2 urns per inv since you'll be able to restock when you bank your coal. Don't know why I didn't think of that....
  10. Not to jack the thread, but why not use urns? Won't they boost experience? The extra bank runs (seeing as you lose 1 inv per urn and many people start with ~20) may or may not actually decrease exp rates. I don't know because I haven't tested it but I would personally not bother.
  11. I don't know, as I haven't been P2P since free trade, but I would assume that the mining guild there isn't too full so you could do it there. Also, another good place would be the Dwarven Mines resource dungeon. There's ~10ish coal rocks and a deposit box. Another place that comes to mind would be the coal carts by Seers. As I've said, I'm not P2P so I don't know how full they are, but those are the only places that come to mind. Or, as an alternate option you could mine iron ore in the Dwarven Mines and then bank in the resource dungeon which should be more exp/h as well as more gp/h than coal. Another option would be to power mine. Then once you get 77 you can mine concentrated coal in the living rock caverns.
  12. Bot bots and more bots. I hear members complaining about them, but it's far worse in F2P, so any training you do you WILL have to compete with multiple bots, wherever you go.
  13. W7 GE is fine seeing as since this started I haven't recognised a single TIFer in W7 GE. Also, I must have been AFK because I've been hunting for a snipe there for ages. That, or I was in the midst of reporting all the bots that bank at the GE <_<
  14. February 1, 2011; The day Runescape died. Thank you Free Trade! Note: I cleared this world of RWT spammers no more than 45 minutes before this picture.
  15. Exactly. Other than Thomas, on paper Boston is maybe a 2nd-round playoff team and I'm sure they knew it and used that as motivation to work harder than anyone else. I've been a Vancouver fan for many years and will still be, but I just can't stand they way the Vancouver citizens are handeling this. At least have some dignity in losing! Suck it up and walk home, there is nothing good that ever comes from rioting, burning, and looting.
  16. Off the top of my head Prayer - Dbones / Frost bones on gilded altar Hunter - Herby Habitat / Red Salies FM - Yews / Maples Con - Oak larders / mahogany something Thieve - AA knife fighters Agility - Wildy? RC - Combo runes / ZMI Mining - Powermine granite / iron / bank iron @ resource dungeon Smithing - iron plates (steel if you wanna spend 3x more) Crafting - Blue d'hide bodies Fishing - C2 dunge / Barb fishing Cook - swordies Farm - herb runs / trees
  17. Hey Nuff, if you don't mind me asking, how much do you pay per runner? And how much does that come out to be in terms of gp/exp?
  18. Just a reminder to all the F2Pers out there that World 7 is the official Tipit homeworld for F2P so I'll be sniping people from there!
  19. Got this today. Took me a while because I have been busy with work / baseball and when I am online I spend more time on my personal bot hunting route than actually smithing. Anyway, now that this is done I think I'll start on that F2P skill related money making guide I've been planning for a while. Addy bars were bought at 2250 each so the cost from 85 was ~40m but I'm gonna make a bit of that back slowly merching (I do very low risk flipping) while I write my guide / alch the plates I made (will get 90 mage).
  20. iirc you can only fail guessing a password 10(?) times before it locks you out for a while so it's not like you're going to get hacked by brute force dictionary attacks anyway. Like highlanders said, the only way people get hacked is phishers or keyloggers (or rarely guessing recoveries).
  21. That's nice, but I can't help but think something's up when 1/2 the time the vid cuts in with someone saying either 'wow' or 'u glitched bro'.
  22. Were you on W7? I noticed that they look more at cb level than skill levels and actual dunge expertise.
  23. I have had a similar experience except with a doubler in P2P, Plasma. Someone was offering to double unlimited amounts. I was hesitant assuming the people he was doubling for were team mates but there were so many of them that I trusted him with a few hundred K. He doubled that and kept going with everyone. Eventually people were having him double 10, 20, even 40M at a time. After each double he would say "XX mill doubled for [player]". After 30 minutes he turned from legit to scamming. He would offer the doubled amount back but would decline in the second trade and still say 'XX mill doubled for [player]'. Just as I was about to get him to double my GP for the fifth of sixth time I started seeing people accuse him of scamming so I declined the trade and he logged. From the looks of things he made off with a couple hundred M. How much of that was his 'investment' I'm not sure of but i made 18M off him (gave some of that to people who were scammed). The moral of the story is that if it looks to good to be true, it is.
  24. The problem is that robots don't feel impatient.
  25. So, I had my hour with a JMod today. It was pretty short notice but it worked out alright. TIF was down so I couldn't go back to find my post about what I was going to do so I had to go by memory. Here's how it went; Introductions. My slave was Mod Edu, who is in Fansite Support (started a month ago). We went on my daily 'bot bustin' run where I hit common bot-hives and report them all. He took down names and forwarded them to the bot-killing mods. The ones who were very obvious he took care of himself. As we went on the bot hunt, I gave away 50k to any legit player we could find. Sadly, we didn't find all that many.... Then we headed over to the GE to cabbage bomb and other stuff. Sadly he couldn't join in the bombing so I had another player who latched on to us (very nice guy) help me. I asked him to get dressed up in Torva and a partyhat but he couldn't wear Torva because it's P2P.... So he just danced in a partyhat. I handed out GP to people at the GE while Edu praised me and danced. And then my time was up. The bot busting took too long because he had to manually take down names for the CM mods to take care of so we didn't have much of a chance for shenanigans (We only made it half way through my daily route before heading over to the GE before time ran down). Overall it was a great experience and a lot of good was done (newbies praised me for the free 50k). A huge thank you goes to the Tipit Events Team, Kenshinjapan for donating the slave to this contest, and of course Mod Edu for being such a great sport. Not a single legit player mining in the mining guild. Just look at the minimap...so many bots. Pre-cabbage bombing
