If speculators are correct, three of the major activities done in Runescape since the days of classic (one is destroyed while the second taken a stab in the side) will be corroded all thanks not to Jagex, but the gold farmers. You have to thank them for ruining the game. :-k
-
What's wrong with that? Runescape's a competitive game; it's what makes it fun. People just want to compare themselves to others as a motivation to improve. :-k

... Nobody still bought any of my gold bars yet... *sneaks away with a chicken*

I forgot to note: While the market for rune equipment isn't well-recieved in member worlds, it's a HUGE market in free worlds since it's the best kind of armour available. I tried selling a rune scimitar in the Grand Exchange and in no less than THREE seconds it was eaten up! Another thing to note is the use of said armour for new hard quests due to its fairly good defence values and cost, as well as fighting animated suits of armour in the Warrior's Guild.

How far I'd go: Replace the drop option with the destroy one, Change the death penalty system entirely, giving players in the Wilderness a score based on several factors such as level of killed target, their equipment and the level of Wilderness it happened; then give the top high-scorers gold as much as they've gathered points. Of course, the replacement for the death penalty would become a "wounded" state where a player cannot have another fight for a set time period, which is prolonged if they were skulled. It's just an idea, but that would essentially eliminate drop trading and "death" trades.

I'd rather take this another way: Illude people into thinking the skill is becoming obsolete so they stop training it altogether, then release something extraordinary when very few people can actually do it.

How exactly would the Warcraft franchise itself is original? It copied Warhammer entirely, as did Starcraft to Warhammer 40K. :-k

If the other alternative is struggling to enter world 2 just to waste hours yelling about what I'm selling/buying with no success then by all means I'll use the Grand Exchange. Player Feedback (not whining) is the ideal solution when it comes to fixing problems when an update goes live.

Cheery Statement: I can get me all of the Barrows sets now, woohoo!

Who usually buys 1k amulets of power normally anyway ? Just high alch them urself. Some newb made up that idea, I dunno why people are still carrying the topic around. Keep talking bout it and they might think we actually want it tho. You can buy things from the exchange individually, hence the progress bar below your sale. It doesn't neccessarily mean you're selling 1k amulets ALL at once. XD

The Grand Exchange is like the Dwarven Consortium: PERFECT for common resources, but terrible for those that are not. Try selling a thousand amulets of power and see what I'm talking about. #-o

There's one gripe I have about this particular system: I have over 1k prayer potions (3) which recently were tagged at 8k minimum. The market price's lowest is around 7.8k yet I settle the price to the regular so people would most likely buy it. What happens is they don't sell due to people automatically setting their bet on the lowest price to save up money... Wait, I'll give a clearer example. The market price of an item = 237 {216-252} What people usually buy it for (street price) = 200 My set price = 220 Result: No sales, since the system is very meticulous regarding equality of bets with items, leaving those who price their items at odd numbers (218, 222, etc.) putting items up in vain. I believe this can be fixed by using a system similar to Puzzle Pirates, in which the buyer can see all the prices for an item and is allowed to view a stock per price... Although that's exactly how the standard shop system in Runescape works, only being more elaborate.
-
Eventually, they'll also remove the 3-item limit on death and would not let you lose anything after death. After all, it's a covert way to transfer wealth and who cares about player killers in the Wilderness which consist of at least 30% of the Runescape population (both free and members) about losing their favourite part of the game?

I've been trying to buy and sell a couple of things using the Grand Exchange, but didn't quite work as expected... Nobody is selling watermelon seeds at market price, Nobody buys duelling rings, rings of recoil, gold bars and 4-dose prayer potions at market price, Strangest part of all, nobody would dare sell a dragon armour set yet.

Isn't that Lucien's house? I'm sure something as the Grand Exchange building would be at least as big as the Varrock west bank...

As my favourite future penguin questline choice was, "We all live in the yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine~" with your character drawing the home teleport symbol and an imp falls on you out of nowhere.

Player Suggestions Jagex Actually Used? (w/ proof)
Sharane replied to NukeMarine's topic in General Discussion
Actually before that, when you failed to steal from an NPC you went in combat with it and knowing the 3-turn rule it killed some of the NPCs before you could even escape. -
Player Suggestions Jagex Actually Used? (w/ proof)

Player-owned houses, the Godwars Dungeon, the farming skill, the upcoming summoning skill and mock items based on updates people always wanted (Diango's toy shop) were all player-suggested to a point as far as I can tell. The evil penguins is probably a hit towards Linux since Runescape had/has trouble running on that system. :P -
Has anyone ever noticed summoning in the lore (Demon Slayer, the Necromancers and Malignus Mortifier or whatever his name is, Shadow of the Storm, etc.) Never involved magic, which had runes as the primary/major source of power? :-k

A christmas present ring would be interesting. o.o

November/December 2002 comes to mind, with people thinking party hats and crackers will drop again and prices falling faster than a chunk of rune ore from the Baxtorian Falls. Imagine what they felt on Christmas day that time. :P

stop ruining threads - if u want to complain...
Sharane replied to dacona's topic in General Discussion
well there is another good way besides just ignoring them... its a little red X at the top right of your screen, click it and all your problems will go away That's how the French Revolution was started. :-$ To be the first to not be bashful, I'll say people are like rabbits: They don't like change and will panic if it happens. Also, since the RSOF stinks they'll realise they cannot let out their angst from something that happened in a game there so they'll pester other players, especially those not involved in the change, those that don't mind it and those that simply don't care. It's wrong to ignore the constant flow of topics about the very same subject yet it takes some really dimwit to post the three-hundredth topic about something. :-k -
That is stupid in so many ways... That's the same as Windows ceasing updates on Windows 95 to have people who still use it get 98 or better at least. In a business sense, I don't blame them. :-k

Removing the drop option would essentially destroy one of the main events Jagex themselves began in the first place: Drop parties.
