Teh_Evil
Ok, the other day, I was watching TV, and an ad for a site called BarbieGirls.com came on. You create your own room, buy clothes for your character, chat online...etc. Some of the characteristics of RuneScape. Now I'm sure Jagex has a little bit of spending money to throw around, so how would you feel if a RuneScape TV ad went on the air?
Lemurian
I wouldn't be able to see it, 'cuz my country has strict laws for commercials aimed towards children. Master_Smither
I think that it would bring in alot more immature people because I doubt jagex would advertise on nonkids channels....... 22woger22
I wouldn't see the ad, Jagex will probably play theirs during the day and not at primetime night. I'll tell my cousin to watch out for them while he's watching Play School. :)
Dalcyte
I don't think TV based soley website advertising will go very far. It's so hard to make people actually remember a website adress they see, while it's easier to make people remember a product. All it is a website name. Also, they can't do the game good justice on a huge screen like that, without ruining the pixel quality. It wouldn't work in the first place, and i doubt sincerely that they'd do it. However, if it did happen, i would be upset, because it would bring a lot of idiots into the game probably. Kids who won't spend more than a month in the game because they can't figure it out, but make it that much worse while they are there. Word spreads fast enough with kids anyway. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
Skate4u
hmm not really sure how i would feel..it would probably bring new players to the game which might mean more updates? who knows :P gwd drops:bandos:hiltx1
dynastyfan0
I dont think jagex needs to, and if they did, I think it would be a turning point for the end of this game as we know it :| 2181st to 99 Runecrafting on 7/28/2009

Lemeja
Barbiegirl.com and Runescape are very different. What channel would they even advertise on? Not gonna happen. :P
wudero
Barbiegirl.com and Runescape are very different. What channel would they even advertise on? Haha. ESPN, or maybe The Outdoors Channel, of course. :o I for one don't think it would be too great of an idea either. If they did that they would just be wasting that money on something unimportant and that would ultimately make the average IQ of runescape lower lol. Latinoking
If they did...we're DOOM! Prob not but near it. RuneScape doesn't need to advertise it's that damn good. Since it's one of the best MMORPGs in the whole planet. If they did maybe do it on G4TV late at night or during Attack of the Show. I found something that proves it's one of the best. World of Warcraft Like 2004, World of Warcraft has won the award for Online Game of the Year. WoW is the best made MMORPG yet because........Runners-Up: Guild Wars, Battlefield 2, RuneScape http://www.gameogre.com/2005awards.htm If you see the awards for 2006. Maple Story won (I dunno that game is a joke) But RuneScape is mention and is a runner-up. I am Teh_King[My dA][My Last.FM][My Twitter]
Umega
It would be a big mistake for Jagex, lots of hyper immature little kids would be running around. It would bring down the game. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

An adult game would be for people who are 21 or older. You only have to be 13 to play this game even though half the people playing it at probably less than that. Quit. Mayjest
Well, everyone said that Nintendo was for kids, yet when they advertise they sponsor things like the Friday Night Project and the X-Games tournaments... hardly things designed for 10 year olds. Jagex could well do the same thing. I'd put the odds of a Runescape TV ad at about 10% though... not worth betting on. Goals to get my skills back up to a barely respectable level on the high scores: Currently going for Bone to Peaches spell. It's amazing how boring doing the same repetitive task is! warren211
I wouldn't want the ads. where would they advertise? its either on channels for adults or teens like ESPN or the discovery channel (which would attract very few players) or on nickelodeon or disney or whatevr kids stations are in your area. Now, not all kids watching those channels are over 13, because its typically aimed at younger kids, and the game is 13+ anyway. how effective would that make the ad if it either gets honest kids to wait till their 13 (thus not attracting many new players) or make players lie about their age, which certainly isnt a good way to start a runescape career. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Shiv0234
DAN! : I agree with pretty much everyone else on this topic. No deal. RuneScape has plenty of members already, and it will continue to grow, even without the use of television advertising. There'd be no point in putting all that money into advertising on TV, because most of the people that would watch the shows would be non-members, which equals no $. Nenga
This would bring a lot of kids into the game, kids that we, nor jagex want in there. I'd be a waste of money for jagex, and it might end up costing jagex more money. Ponies!
