September 15, 200718 yr You aren't wasting money on an online computer game. The levels are harder to get and that is a challenge. I save $144 a year not to buy members. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
September 15, 200718 yr This is the wrong forums. Try help and advice. But i would stay F2P if you like challenges. Although I myself am having a hard time deciding whether to go P2P or stay F2P. Im choosing P2P because the pros of getting members definetly out number the cons I engineered this thread with precise variables that I know would cause lul-worthy flames.
September 15, 200718 yr those reasons arent that great... Don't pay 5 dollars a month so you can play a harder game with less skills no minigames and the worst community on the net! And really a high level on members is as respectable as someone with high f2p skills, noone says "omg your only level 70 noob" and follows up with "oh your f2p? you rock". also I dont try making the most of my money, its only 5 bucks! i dont try to make the most out of a bag of candy because it cost 5 dollars. There is no reason for anyone to stay f2p even if you say its more of a challenge I say its more challenging raising 8 more skills than raising f2p skills. Well, there are reasons aren't they? Which makes the "there's no reason to be f2p" argument baseless. Whether they're good or not is relative. And of course you make the most of your $5 candy. Do you throw it out halfway through? Of course not! It's a bad analogy to start with, since you have a choice to play rs free or for pay. But let's say you get that candy for free. Do you still care as much about it? No; therefore you are less bound to it, and don't have to obtain as much as you can out of it through necessity. No one says "oh you're only lvl 70" in f2p, it's higher than average and is respectable. In fact, a lvl 70 in f2p is the equivalent of a 90 or so in p2p. Me for example, have only a 1005 total. It may not seem much for a member, but in f2p that's much higher than average. And how many people say "you're a lvl 70? Cool! Being a mem makes that really exceptional!". Even less than those who would say that about f2p, I can assure you. Perhaps it is more challenging to raise an p2p character than an f2p character in the long run, but if you're thinking about the long run, then don't be f2p at all. If you want to play runescape in more than modest amounts, then by all means, be a member. Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.
September 15, 200718 yr Stay f2p because there is more honor involved when you get a good level. Also I think the community is more relaxed in f2p as long as you stay away from certain areas. When members come to f2p worlds they are always so nice :) Tbfgraphx14Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.
September 15, 200718 yr There's no reason why you should stay f2p. Become a member. Exactly You guys obviously haven't been back to f2p in a long time. I have spent the last 4 months as an ex-member, and I find that it's a lot easier to concentrate on skills, because there aren't so many distractions. In p2p, I could never get anything done, because I just thought, oh, I'd rather be at cwars. If you want to get high skills then stay f2p. It's far easier to concentrate and you get way more respect. Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!Xbox360 Gamertag = Tintin113
September 15, 200718 yr This is my last members day, I have been member for 1 month, that means more time for school and a more relax runescape life :D just because there is less to do, so you spare time as well O:) Not that i dont like to be member but after some months of membership, sometimes f2p is better for you. (for me) Master of Firemaking since 10-11-2007 Yes, I QUIT! =] Master of Woodcutting since Christmas 2007Completed all quests - Completed all achievement diaries.
September 15, 200718 yr Well, to me it's pretty obviously a waste of money. I'm a lover of Runescape, but I just no longer actually enjoy being a memebr. It's now less fun, in the end. You get bored evry quickly of the enw features and too much stuff comes along at once for you to keep up. Hell for the best armour set up it's over 100 million, or atleast what people see as the best. Free to play, is more enjoyable, and you feel more determined but you feel less like you "have" to play, because the memebrs seems to get you hooked alot more. This makes being a free player more enjoyable too. No updates they say? Well it's not even neccesary! IT'S NOT LIKE YOU'VE BEATEN ALL THE ORIGINAL FEATURES IN THE FIRST PLACE, to even need new features! I also like the way the best armour set ups on free worlds are alot cheaper, standard, and are actually more effective because of the lower level of the enemies. ( NPC's ) The only downside though to that, is there's no challenging enemies to beat on your massive journey, however i'm guessing if you're new then elvarg is challenging and exiting, the final combat boss! Anyway, free to play is cheaper, more enjoyable, less to keep up with, no need to work for about 400 hours just for the best armour in game and finally more rewarding mentally. Anyway, good luck with whatever you choose. ( Remember too eventually the autoers will be gone in free to play, too ) I AM SURELY GOING TO WIN THE AWARD OF THE MOST LOVED TIP.IT'ER EVER, SURELY?
September 15, 200718 yr No updates they say? Well it's not even neccesary! IT'S NOT LIKE YOU'VE BEATEN ALL THE ORIGINAL FEATURES IN THE FIRST PLACE, to even need new features! That made me laugh because it's true for the most part. My reasons for why someone should stay f2p are p2p can be overwhelming and quite difficult if you're improperly prepared. When I first got members, I was only level 40- or 50-something, and died (or came very close to dying) because I wandered into the wrong area by mistake. The worst is White Wolf Mountain; the bulk of the p2p map is across this treacherous hill, but it's populated by mid-lvl Wolves who shred unwary low-lvl travelers like so much tissue paper. It's not so hard with the Run feature, though. In addition, there are eight new skills that are all time-consuming (and sometimes confusing or frustrating), a ton of new quests, weapons, armors, items, training spots, features (like alternate transportation, minigames, etc), and all of it kind of assaults you at once. Another good reason is members is more enjoyable if the majority of your f2p skills are at least to lvl 30. Like I said before, I was a low-lvled newb the first time I got members, and that experience was very limited as a result. The last time I got members, my levels were much better and I was able to do a LOT more, which made the experience far more interesting and rewarding; Instead of only wishing Icould do something or go somewhere (and being disappointed that I couldn't), I was actually able to do it. Even if it wasn't what I imagined, my curiosity was at least satisfied. There are good reasons for staying f2p. There are better reasons for going p2p, but they're not relevant if you don't want to upgrade. Part of the Star Traks network. (^^Clicky!) Irony: An amnesiac rediscovering they have an eidetic memory.
September 15, 200718 yr you save money per month, you haveharder skills to train, you cant train skils so easily, which is more respect from other players. for example, i respect a f2p person with 1100 skill total way more than a member who has 1100 skill total. although f2p has alot of macroers etc, you have way more to report than members :D but yea, i think my first post in tip it was someting about 'should i get membership or not?' lol :D but yea, in the end, its up to you [/url]">[4Th in Finland to achieve 99 mining. 3Rd of June 2007]Pixels make me horny.
September 15, 200718 yr Being F2P and high leveled is more of an achievement. If you have a 99 in P2P, you are like the other 200k+ players who have 99 skills. Very few F2P players have 99 skills.
September 16, 200718 yr Reasons to stay F2P: 1. You don't want to spend 5$ (or more) for a month 2. You have levels that are great in F2P, but weak in members 3. You are too poor (in game) to afford members equipment 4. You'd rather not have do deal with poison, Ancients and all the other high powered stuff 5. You consder pure F2P levels more of a challenge Reasons to go members occasionally: 1. You can make supplies for when you are F2P 2. You can stack your bank. 3. You can train Agility and run longer in F2P as well.
September 16, 200718 yr as a top f2p player i will give you my reasons aswell: you can use your 5$ a month for a far more constructive purpose. If i would be member i would play to much rs just because i spend money on it. the chalenges in f2p are far more bigger to get a 99 stat. i admit i look up to a pure f2p player with high ranks more then i look up to any member who has the same stats. the high lvl community in f2p is a nice place to be, they are al friendly and helpfull. (or i just know the right people...) i wouldnt become a member untill al my goals in f2p are made... wich will probably be maxed out all f2p stats. for you: its your own dicision; when you think members would be more fun.. become member. otherwise just train your skills. the most important thing about runescape is to have fun! play to have fun, not to impress or other friends say so... rsname: lord rex.december 2011: ranked 107th best f2p playermarch 2012 became member.

September 16, 200718 yr F2P- If you have a high level people will felate you P2P- Theres much more to do I know what I'd choose.

FYI, I am f2p (though I wish so much that I weren't). Also, I suggest that you read this. What I'm getting from you guys is that you would rather gain the respect of people you will never meet and get some levels that don't matter at all than have fun playing a game. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
September 17, 200718 yr well, after finishing all the quest i couldn't much to do in the November/December months till i got members... The decision is your choice but if you go to member you might your self over whelmed with things to do...just like me :^o 99 FM Acheived on Friday December 26th 2008Click for my blog|Mass Effect Discussion Thread|Nation Creation/Create your own Country Forums
September 17, 200718 yr School.Yeah, this man sums it up pretty well. I do English to Japanese and Japanese to English translation for free! Just keep it under 5 sentences, and PM me to use my fluency in Japanese to your advantage!
September 17, 200718 yr I can NOT think of any reason to stay f2p.. When you mentioned the Dragon Plates I had a sudden vision of a load of gangsters running around in fancy dress yealling "Grim Reaper in da hood!"
September 17, 200718 yr Im gonna make a thread called "Why nobody cares" but seriously members rocks so much harder MAKE IT! haha, I wonder what'd happen...
September 17, 200718 yr Go P2P, it's far better, and you support JaGeX. Qizx2- ArchmagePersonnumber100- Warlock for life.Would you?
September 17, 200718 yr If you can GET p2p, go for it. I mean it! If you can't... well it's ok at least no odd high levels prancing around. Wonder how many lvl 100+s there are in members... :-k
September 17, 200718 yr If you get 1000 total member you get this face -.- As a F2P :XD: 'Nuff said On the other hand P2P is way more fun. \
September 17, 200718 yr For the same reason that I'm a skiller. The thrill of thinking that you'r different than all those other f2per's. Also, it sets a Challenge out for you
