Summoning F2P?

1. You have no proof summoning will be a combat skill. They have said it will not be a magic skill book, and even if it leveled people similar to magic, there are few people who gain levels based on mage and range, as most are melee based. Still, summoning would not be combat as it is not fighting, and we don't even know if summoned creatures will be able to fight (in PvP or PvE).

 

 

 

2. You say 'slayer wasn't affected by combat'... If anything, summoning is likely to be somewhat similar to slayer in terms of it using combat but not boosting it (my opinion).

 

 

 

3. Many people think summoning will be directly related to hunter, I think this might have been mentioned in a development diary? Since hunter is noncombat there is no reason why summoning would be.

 

 

 

oh, i'm sorry to say, but summoning WILL be combat related, and it will make the new max combat level 138, just read the brand new development diary...

 

 

 

ot again. i don't think the skill have to be f2p, but i do think it could be good if some parts of it was, seeing how it affects the combat level, and how that would mess up around with people leaving members, how their combat level then would be higher, although several of those levels doesn't help them at all in f2p.

 

 

 

(alternatively, they could make two different cb levels for f2p and p2p, but really, that would make little sense, wouldn't it? )

I personally hope that it's not for f2p.

 

Not because I think we do or don't deserve it (it's not a matter of who deserves it more), but because I simply enjoy the way f2p is.

 

 

 

Some of the rs1 f2p legends are still on the f2p list, even well after they've retired, people like Galaxyg and Mendark 9.

 

 

 

If summoning is f2p, all the great retired people will be pushed off the f2p list, to be practically forgotten by the new additions to the list.

 

 

 

F2P has barely changed at all since its rs1, and that's how I like it.

If they make summoning for f2p, they will make a horrible mistake. f2p'ers just got a huge update, as well as not paying for updates. I personally have nothing against f2p, but I do at the same time.

 

 

 

Just another reason to get members, to get max combat. I think jagex planned that out. usually games make skills only be max able if you buy membership.

If it becomes F2P, it will be limited. I'm okay with that. I'm just not okay with the fact of members getting a way higher combat level than F2Pers. It would totally ruin the F2P Bounty Hunter mini-game and clan wars. :(

 

 

 

 

The thing is, if it is members, and members get a higher combat level than f2p, it will be completely irrelevant if that member pks on a free world. The thing that gave him that higher cb level won't be available to him on a free world so he'll still be as strong as his pre-summoning combat level.

 

 

 

Since the old rule of wilderness levels doesn't apply anymore, it doesn't matter if you combat levels boosted higher, you'll still be able to attack anyone in your bounty hunter room.

 

 

 

Oh and to BBC3: go back to RSOF please. It's embarrasing readiing you're posts. Given that you said you moved out about three years ago would make you roughly my age group and it's scary to think someone my age would post like that :S

the other updates were to give you a taste, by giving you useless aspects of runecraft and letting you only have rune ess and not pure ess, and not even giving you the ability to touch nats or laws, and pretty much limit you from everything else in every skill.

 

 

 

if you get summoning it will be like raising prayer for you, they will only give you the ability to summon imps, instead of dragon imps.

Consider the following.

 

 

 

1. What advantage would Summoning add to your combat level on free? It isn't like a booster skill similar to Prayer. In effect, you'd be summoning monsters to fight alongside of you, but there's a good chance that it would be restricted or outlawed in Bounty Hunter/Dueling.

 

 

 

2. Having 138 combat on freeplay won't make a difference. Since that level doesn't reflect overall strength, hits, prayer, etc (already at 99), it'd be no different than fighting a 126.

 

 

 

3. Just because it affects combat doesn't mean that it will be a freeplayer skill.

I don't think there is a chance of them making Summoning F2p for some reasons, Shop in Yanille, Cats are already P2p, Summoning has connections with Hunter, New areas will be needed for the new NPC's and there are probably more reasons to not make it F2p. I hope they make it Members Only because just like I hate RC in F2p I don't think I'll like Summoning either and I don't want it for some other reasons.

 

 

 

The last decision is made by Jagex and we can only speculate what it will be and I truly hope they make it Members Only.

From what I have read on the Diaries and here, I don't really like Summoning and that's why I don't want it to be F2p.

 

 

 

Even if they added it to F2p, how many 126+ Pure F2p'ers would you see?

 

Not many, since it's already a real pain, I mean extremely hard to get 99 RC or/and 99 Prayer in F2p, so why the hell would we want an even harder skill to train? There is only 1 Pure F2p'er with 99 Prayer and I don't think many F2p'ers will get 90+ in a short time.

 

 

 

Also, Summoning looks like a really big skill, I mean it looks like it will involve alot of new NPC's, new areas and new items which I highly doubt any of them will be F2p.

If it's p2p only, then like every single other thing that's p2p only, you won't be able to use it in f2p.

 

 

 

So the only advantage you'd have is a higher cb, that's it. And if anything it's a disadvantage because f2pers are going to have 100 cb made entirely from stats they can use in BH, while a p2per with 100 cb and 50 summoning is stuck with a combat stat that can't help him at all and lower usable stats than most people he'll face his level.

That and they both changed their names to seem more hispanic so they could get away with doing almost entirely nothing but jokes starting with the words "(insert race here) people...." with a good chunk of those and pretty much all the other ones more than likely stolen from another comedian in the first place.
