Are guthan sets unvervalued?

Since item lending I have noticed a huge drop in the prices of guthan armour drop significantly. Do you think its just a down hill spiral in the market and it will be going back up again soon? or do you think its going to stay under 7mill?

I have posted a graph showing the price change in the last 30ish days, keep in mind 2months ago it was 7.8m-8m

they may not be unvervalued but some barrows sets are undervalued, to me these are verac karils and guthing and maybe dh, i find torag useless in all aspects since the same def bonus can be accomplished with other peices for same price and better set effects, and i dont mage much so ahrims is only good for activites such as bursting

I've had my same Guthan's set since it was 18m. I think it's a tad undervalued.

I hope Party Hats drop. Not everyone is rich.

I don't think guthans really matters these days. Most people use healing familiars or sgs to restore health.

I'm pretty sure getting 68 summoning costs less than 7 mill, so guthans is just going to its new appreciated value, honestly I think it should have been about 5 mil, most of the barrows sets are awkwardly priced, veracs is by far the most useful despite what people may say, as it can kill almost litterally anything.

Guthans was a good replacement for food, but now with summoning, we have far cheaper healing sources, AND we can use any armour/weapon setup we wish, in theory saving millions on repair costs (although most slay with guthans, so the money is made back pretty instantaneously)

overall, I'd say its all just falling in its place, its not undervalued or overvalued, fact is it's valued however people choose to value it.

Barrows in general are undervalued. They offer such great defensive status to be this low. But whatever, go with the flow.

rich people wear barrows? never heard that one before.

some sets are undervalued and some are at the appropriate price. ahrims offers the best mage bonus in the game and the cost is more then 3 times cheaper then infinity. guthans is somewhere around the appropriate range since summoning introduced alternatives. there are too many veracs and dharoks to stabalize a high price and karils offers one of the best mage defence.

Makes sense. Other alternatives to Guthans are starting to appear, such as the Bunyip, which means that Guthan will continue to fall.

Honetsly, im glad guthans is falling, i dont like summoning and im not a very rich person. It's starting to fall into my range and seems to be worth the cost. So, ill probobly buy a set soon.

It's amazing guthans managed to keep a high price since it's been out for years and now summoning has sort of replaced it.

Torags is exactly the same as it was before the G E for some reason, I dunno about Karils and Ahrims, but all the others have dropped since then, except guthans, which stayed around the old prices.

I only really use Torags, because I don't like the look of other sets, and the effects don't interest me.

6.7m for guthans, when it's only unique use is fight caves, I'd say that was a bit overpriced. But hey, Barrows has to have at least one decent item for profit in there, so I guess it's ok.

Guthans stayed around its old price? I remember when the spear alone used to be worth more than the entire set is now.

Guthans unique for fight caves? Lol, Range is much more effective there and I doubt too many people still use guthans.

Well I used to merchant guthans, and it was usually always around the 7m - 9+ area not long before the G E.

And people do still use guthans there, I'm at fight pits quite alot and when I bank I see people in fight caves gear, alot of the time they have parts of guthans on.

Before the ge wasnt long ago considering the amount of time barrows has actually been out.

Also my point was its not 'unique' for fightcaves considering there are more easier efficient ways.

Guthaning for the set effect as a whole is slow, inefficient and a waste of time since the release of summoning 2.

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

Well I was talking about just before the G E in the first place.

And you must have read it wrong or something. I meant it's the only set effect that's used in Fight Caves often. Meaning that use for it, is unique out of the other 5 brothers.

i wouldn't use the word undervalued to describe it's price...the price of barrow equipment have become so low basically because it has been in the game for a very long time already...the longer the game progresses the more barrow equipments are going to be found and it is not as though barrow equipments are being lost at a great rate so the supply of barrow equipment in the game is definitely going to increase as time goes by...

in runescape (and probably in the real world as well) the price of an item is determined by 2 things from the consumers' point of view: 1) usefulness and 2) rarity. barrow equipment are certainly one of the most useful in the game with their different set effects but the falling price of guthan is probably due to other substitutes being introduced such as bunyips, unicorns and the SGS. also, barrow only appears cheap relative to all the other equipment which are expensive only because they are rare such as GS, dragon armour, 3rd age etc. i wouldn't buy a 3rd age to train in it...it will definitely only be to show off. Thus barrow armour is not actually that cheap when you think about it...probably it is to you as a high level (as well as to me) but one must always remember that the income gap in runescape in humongous...there are many people out there who can't afford them yet. There is also a small group of people who treat the cost of barrow armour as peanuts but comparing the 2 groups, the people who can't afford it are possibly at least a hundred times more than those who purchase barrow equip as though they were buying groceries from the supermarket....
