the arrangement of the countries at the parade had to do with how many strokes it took to write the countries name out in Chinese.

Didn't actually watch the opening ceremony but I heard it was great, especially the drums.

Opening Ceremony was awesome, definatly the best out of the ones ive seen, just can't help thinking how the hell are London going to follow that in 4 years time. :?

That was one hell of an opening. Can't wait for the events to start.

 

 

 

By the way, if you don't want to watch the big-time events like swimming and gymnastics, they do broadcast online. (and they show events on like 10 different channels :roll: )

Only in the football. If you qualify, and your country's got an Olympic Committee, you can participate at any age I think.

 

 

 

He's a diver though, so I don't get how they get away with filming him. It's not like I can go down to my local swimming pool and film all the kiddies jumping off the springboards... :?

Rooting for USA, Australia, and the Solomon Islands here. Got family from each of those countries, so yeah.

Yea, I noticed something. Also with Iraq too...And Taiwan. (Though it may have been that there were a lot of Taiwanese people there cheering. Doubt it though) -.-

 

The basketball game between China and USA tomorrow (Or whatever, I'm confused by all these time differences) is big news within my friends. Most of us are Asian (Chinese), but there are a few Americans. So we've taken sides. :

Yeah I don't think the Olympics are being taken too seriously between the georgia war and the murder... :-#

there's no need to take the olympics seriously anyway. its mainly entertainment.

 

 

 

even a winner of a gold medal will be forgotten a month after the olympics.

I kinda laughed when Usa women won all 3 medals in fencing.

I'm up for Michael Phelps winning another gold again.

 

 

 

And USA will more than likely claim gold in basketball. Though it's too bad we don't have Kevin Garnett (at least, from what I know).

Personally, I'm really interested in watching the rowing, shooting, archery, and running events. I'd like to see a triathalon, too. Basically, I'm interested in a lot of the sports. I think I'll enjoy everything. I can't wait.

If USA Men Basketball don't win gold, I will be disappointed.

Volleyball is the one thing that I watch for sure. May is destroying this Japanese team right now.
