I hate the whole "herp derp I'm male can't like disney or twilight" mentality. It's [developmentally delayed]ed. Some of the Disney / Nick shows are still decent.

I don't like the whole "I can't like cartoons", period. Between kids shows on Disney and Nick to adult shows like South Park and Family Guy, is there really much choice between the two? (American cartoon wise). The gap has to be filled with something, I tell ya.

It's just the general reputation decrease of saying "I love icarly!" in front of your mates that most people don't like.

If you switch to documentaries by the age of eight, you have nothing to worry about.

 

 

 

Why not try the Simpsons? It's still relatively appropriate and still appeals to older people.

The thing is... how long has it been since Disney actually show cartoons (like rolly polly olly?) I thought it was all live action stuff. Same with nickelodeon... and Cartoon Network. Liking actual CARTOONS is OK (like spongebob, ed edd n eddy, etc.), but the stuff they've replaced them with isn't that great, and is aimed more towards younger teens.

 

And twilight? My rule is that if you are a guy, and WILLINGLY read the books/go to the movies, then I take away two of your man cards. If you are forced to (usually by girlfriend/ girl friend), then it's OK. That's just me though.

I never comment on Twilight since I've never read the books or watched the movie. However the new Nick/Disney/Cartoon Network shows suck, though the new Spongebobs ARE still good. The show hasn't changed at all since it originated, contrary to what old-skoolerz like to think.

Cartoon Network seems to slightly remember how to make cartoons. As of the moment there's only 1 live action series, which is terrible by the way, and good cartoons like Adventure Time, Flapjack, and even the new Scooby-Doo series.

I really just have a few shows that I only watch when there are new episodes on (Burn Notice, Chuck, Community, The Big Bang Theory). But my little brother still watches cartoons quite a bit so I still end up seeing them anyways. By the way, iCarly absolutely sucks. The guy that plays her brother was so much funnier as Crazy Steve on Drake and Josh! D:

So I just finished watching the entire Book 3 of Avatar: Last Airbender (the series, not the stupid movie), and it was pretty epic. There were 16 episodes, each 22-ish minutes long with a few 1 hour specials here and there,and of course the 1hour 30min ending episode. Out of all the shows Nick has produced, this series has got to be one of my favorites along with perhaps Spongebob and Hey Arnold!

 

The only dissapointing thing was the last episode. I mean I get that Aang had this emotional thing going where he couldn't kill to bear the Firelord, and when he didn't I wasn't surprised. But what really made me rage was the fact that Zuko did not kill Azula. I mean, WTF? The Zuko vs. Azula duel was destined to happen ever since that girl was introduce to the goddam show, and it was supposed to be epic. So Zuko and Azula start dueling, and I'm like "yea, kick her ass, she deserves it, this is defintely the climax of the entire show!" Everytime I saw that girl on the show she was always doing something that was supposed to make the viewer hate her, so I had all this pent up rage inside me wanting her to die, and I'm sure everyone else who has watched at least half of the episodes in the series wanted her to die too. The duel goes on like most duels go in these epic series, of course the hero (Zuko) has to sacrafice himself to save a friend/loved one, and Katara is forced to fight the chick. So I'm all like, yea girl kick that girls ass. All the while I'm hoping that Zuko will get up and save Katara at the last second, striking the final blow. AND YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!??! Katara magically gets handcuffs and handcuffs Azula to a freaking sewer cage. FFS, WHAT KIND OF ENDING IS THAT? I wanted her to die, and that's all she gets?!?! They just leave her there and I assume later imprison her, and basically forget about her. I mean, skrew the Firelord, I WANT THAT GIRL DEAD. I want to see Zuko fire a lightning bolt into her chest, then watch in slow motion her face in a surprised expression turn pale in an up-close camera angle, and then in that same camera angle she falls down backwards. Then the camera is over her dead body in a bird's eye view, and all the viewers who just watched go "yes... yes... YES! SHE'S DEAD! SHE'S FINALLY DEAD!" And then the episode just ends.

 

That would make my day.

 

Sorry, had to confess that. I had to tell somebody. Anyone else who's seen the series finale feel this way?

I've seen lots of it, and damn it is a good show, but I haven't gotten there yet. Still in book two.

I actually skipped most of book 2. I started watching on book 1 and never missed a new episode, then my friends and family started calling me a 10 year old for watching a "kids show," so I only saw a few bits of Book 2 because I couldn't watch it live and if I recorded the show my family would see the show on the recorded list. Luckily our TV comes with Netflix, and there is a list of free movies you can choose from. One of them was the entire Book 3. I waited til my entire family went to sleep and then watched the series until 5 in the morning. That lasted three nights.

 

EDIT: Oops sorry for slightly spoiling the ending for you.

 

But I mean the thing with the Firelord was pretty obvious already.

I can only ever breathe properly through one nostril at a time, and the nostril changes every little while. I think it's really weird, so I don't tell anyone about it. :| It'll change nostrils if I'm lying on my side or something, too. The other nostril always will feel like it's clogged or something.

Don't worry, I really don't take offence to anything. :P I like to avoid tension/arguements in general

 

It really IS a show targetted at the younger audiences though, you're right, but I meant its so damn good of a show I can't resist watching it.

 

Sigh... yes I realize there can't be anything graphic on a show like that. But I mean, they wouldn't have to show actual blood. Just her falling over, dying, with massive amounts of intestines spewing out from the wound. Just kidding. :P
