To put this into perspective: Mein Kampf was in 5th

Confession: I've wanted to read Mein Kampf for a while now, just need to find somewhere to buy/borrow/steal it from.

Why can't the Big Bang be done by the hand of God?

It could have, but it is next to impossible because it also could have been caused by the flying spaghetti monster, or one of the other infinite number of deity possibilities.

I don't find African American girls attractive. And I don't find Latin American/Hispanic/Mexican girls attractive. I'm hoping with all my being that I have at least one kid (boy or girl) with blonde hair.

I have a big problem with not making eye contact during conversations.

I believe I'm slightly autistic because I share some symptoms (no eye contact, get upset when my regular schedule is broken, am quite reserved a lot of the time). I don't intentionally do it, and I get embarrassed because the other person probably doesn't think I'm listening because my eyes are somewhere else.

I get a weird feeling when I look someone in the eye. I can't do it for more than a second.

Self diagnosis is bad.

I mean, I would say that I'm not autistic and pretty normal, but I have trouble with eye contact (e.g I had a conversation with a teacher today and just stared down at my textbook the whole time) and the other things you mentioned.

I hate not being able to look people in the eye, I just get so self-conscious and embarrassed.

This. Sounds like you're just socially awkward and need to talk to people more.

Not to mention there's a difference between being shy and having autism.

Having an older brother with severe autism, very much ^this^.

I'd say a large percentage of the population have a problem with looking in people's eyes for any length of time. It's a basic animal sign of dominance, so it makes sense, especially with teachers and the like.

Then again, they seem to diagnose just about anyone that's a bit antisocial with Asperger's these days.

I never look anyone directly in the eyes, just in their face. Looking directly in the eyes is creepy/disrespectful/romantic/threatening, depending on the situation.

Are you kidding me? You're one of my favorite TIF'ers tbh. Back when I did a lot of staking I loved seeing pics of your stakes and what not. You seem like a pretty cool guy.

Briobe122's 10-step guide to staking:

1. Get cleaned

2. Vow to never stake ever again! (very important)

3. welfare tds and get claws

4. kill glacors til i get boots

5. bandos ffa or more tds til i have around 50m

6. realize that it is far too hard to rebuild using steps 3, 4, and 5

7. give up the vow to never stake again

8. go back staking and make your bank back

9. if you failed at step #8, Go back to step #1

10. if you succeed at step #8, you will eventually feel the need to make money for rich people stuff, have a bad day of staking, then get cleaned anyways

Pain is just weakness leaving the body.

How can it be " creepy/disrespectful/romantic/threatening"? I thought it was the most respectful thing you could do?

It may just be me, but I've noticed that if I actually start thinking about where I'm looking when I'm making eye contact, I get extremely uncomfortable. It's kinda the same as that, "You are now aware you are breathing" type thing. For me, when this happens, I end up getting anxious because I don't know what eye to look at, or if I should look between their eyes at their nose bridge. Because naturally, I think our eyes don't focus on one part, but on the face in general; once you notice this, you find yourself looking at a specific point on their face, which is kinda weird onze you realize it.

I find it terribly hard to keep eye contact with most girls, because the above is running through my head, and also because some of them are just so darn intimidating.

During a conversation or almost any interaction it would be. Unless he means if it's just someone standing around, I can see how staring at their eyes for a good while might be a bit creepy.

I'm pretty sure there's a difference between looking at their face and their eyes. When most people say it's polite/respectful to look someone in the eyes, I doubt they mean looking straight at someone's eyeballs. It's more of a general, keep your head oriented towards their head. I said this in my last post, but we tend to not focus our eyes on specific facial features; rather, our eyes take in the face as a whole. It's only until you realize you're looking at their face that you go and pick out a specific feature to look at.

Yeah, looking at people doesn't mean their eyes per say. Just make sure you engage their face when they are talking to you just to show that you are listening and not staring down their top (if Female.)

My handwriting is embarrassingly bad. It looks like a first-grader's handwriting. I get embarrassed when I have to sign signatures.

Looking someone in the right eye shows you think of them as an equal; looking between their eyes shows you think you are better than them (or not at their eyes, but not downcast); looking between eyes and lips shows romantic interest. Keeping your eyes downcast shows weakness or respect or humility, depending on the situation.

Not everybody will notice. Few will, in fact. But it's a useful tool for building relationships. The details are important.

Most signatures are illegible anyway so I dunno why you would be embarrassed of that.

Oddly enough, even though I'm really shy, I always look anyone that I'm talking to in the eyes. I don't know why, it just seem natural to me. I think it makes them feel like I'm actually paying attention to them and what they're saying.

That's a lot of analysis. I guess it could be subconscious, but I doubt how accurate that is. Obviously there's some sort of explanation that could be made for each facial feature, but honestly, whenever I decide to think about what I'm looking at on a persons face, I find myself just switching from facial feature to facial feature with no real reason. There could be studies, but at this point, I find it hard to believe there's a correlation between where people look and what they are feeling towards the person (except maybe the feelings associated with no eye contact at all [and maybe looking at the lips]). I could be totally wrong, though. Just seems like a bit too analytical.

It's way too analytical. I hate analyzing things. Doesn't mean it isn't useful knowledge. Or, at the very least, something cool to tell people.

Definitely interesting, and in instances is probably true. What surprised me most was the between the eyes = feeling of superiority.
