And WoW people think we are stupid...

Featured Replies

There's nothing wrong with role playing.

And i've never been called stupid by a WoW player tbh.

I agree, and same here.

They may call Runescape stupid, but they don't call us stupid. :)

That elf girl in the first picture... mmm. She can cast a spell on me any day. <3:

I'm 100% free-to-play!!!

Message me, private chat is always on. :)

Actually, do any of those girls that dress up do in fact play WoW? lol

Maybe Blizzard pay them to dress up? it happens alot at other anime/video game conventions

a happy Runescaper

Dressing up is stupid, and the OP is stupid. (No, I've never been trick-or-crapping for halloween. I go to a new year's party and later I plant mailbox bombs and egg houses.)

Can't really judge if you have no experience doing it yourself.

I personally would feel more mature in a costume than I would egging houses or blowing mailboxes up... that stuff is just childish.

And you can't really compare Cosplay to dressing up for Halloween... They aren't the same thing just because both involve costumes.

Edit:

Nor are Halloween and New Years the same holiday... it makes no sense comparing those two, either.

Dude, I have Pagan friend and the day of Halloween is the Pagan new year. I get invited to their parties.

And, I know it's [developmentally delayed]ed because you look [developmentally delayed]ed. End of.

Such Shallow mind's over the bashing of people who enjoy dressing up.

If a Darkhawk costume existed, I would wear it to every con I went too.

I would have no problem dressing up as a bloodelf or a dwarf if thats what I wanted to do.

You have to have self confidence to do it.

and not care what other people think.

If I dress up as thor, master chief, boba fett or the burger king, I dont really care if people think I look stupid. I am having fun, who cares

...

Halloween was a day in which the monsters of hades/hell came out for a stroll through the countryside. It was in a sense the new year, because the Celtic harvest ended at that point. But I doubt your friend is a Celt. If not, I believe you may be thinking of the Winter Solstice. If so, full apologies to your blue painted, warrior friend.

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

I hope you know how much of an [wagon] you sound right now. You can't bash people for doing something they like to do, it's their happiness, as long as no one gets hurt. Like what you do, Egging is really Middle School :shame:

Wongton is better than me in anyway~~

Well, technically Samhain falls on November 1st, not October 31st. If you want to get technical. But at any rate. Most people assume that "New Years" is referring to the... well, new year, aka January 1st. But anyways...

You'll wake up one day and find that vandalising people's property is not only a crime, it is the exact definition of "developmentally delayed."

i stick to runescape for the simple reason that it is one of the few games or should i say only game that it not all about combat or like 90% combat >.< playing stuff like granado espada hellgate is mainly all about fighting and gets boring after a while but in runescape there are so many other things to do ^^

maxed out melee on 10/10/08, current goal: 94/99 cooking

life may be unfair, but why can't it be unfair in my favor?

my fake plant died because i forgot to pretend to water it

and is one of the games where you dont up stats when you lvl up .. you lvl up when you up your stats :P (its kind'a like the russian jokes)

It's people like you that ruin things for cosplayers like me. :wall: I cosplay (anime mainly) but I don't call people who don't cosplay stupid -.-. Cosplaying is about having fun and showing your appreciation and love for whatever it is you're cosplaying. I'm definately considering cosplaying a Runescape character now, I'd never really thought of it but now I like the idea. I love Runescape. I love cosplaying. It makes sense to combine the two \'

Both games are equally nerdy.

Yes, there are people who dress up like there RS characters aswell. But I must admit that the WoW players looks much better and cooler than the RS players when they dress up...Espacially those fem. blood elves

Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak

tbh i dont play wow but the clothing and armour and such in warcraft you could make costumes for for a fancy dress party or whatever and look good if you showed up in runescape clothes then it wouldnt go down well, simply because the armour in runescape is seriously low poly and not as well designed, i do prefer runescape though easier to deal with its why i play it and the cost, but the koreans dress up like their favourite characters all the time like zelda and such.

but no thats not stupid its just supporting something you like and if you like it enough why not, to me its pop culture such as i have friends who are goths but thats accepted, why cant this be

Isnt there a few threads on tipit with people dressing up as stuff, then there is a role playing themes world on Runescape. How is that any different?

"We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape" Jagex 01/04/01 - 02/03/12

It is different in quite a lot of ways. Dressing up, or cosplaying, is usually just for that... dressing up and going to a convention or meetup as your favorite anime/manga/gaming/film/tv character. You get to talk to others about costumes, things that you like, whatever. It's just a means of having fun. This is done in real life, though you're unlikely to get many people walking around your streets dressed up as Haruhi Suzumiya since it's usually done in conventions only.

Whereas role playing like on the runescape theme world is different since it's not making (or buying) a costume and wearing it irl. People do combine both though and role play with other characters 'in character' when they meet and stuff but not all.

lol. That's funny. As for stupid, I don't know. They are just...devoted fans. I could see someone walking around as their character from runescape. Though if anyone dressed up as an rs character they'd wear a phat most likely.

Both games are equally nerdy.

i honestly have to agree. There are some great kids that play both games, but its the poeple who overdo it that give the games bad rep.

EDIT: Oh and yes, I do play WoW. 72 Human Paladin atm. Leveling is slow for me, but a lot of fun in Northrend. I plan on becoming my guild's main tank, which is more fun than RuneScape could ever be. Not because it's a stupid game, but because it's quicker, more action, more controllable by me. I don't click places, I run places.

If your a nutjob, then dressing up like comic books or star trek or anything with blue hair and plastic clothes seems cool.

People with obessions like this ruin things (like comic conventions...).

People who dress themselves as something that's not them have a true passion for that object/game/anime/ect. I myself dress up because I feel proud to put the time and effort in my costumes and such.

Anyone who doesn't feel stupid dressing up at any event is considered a true fan. Think of it like football games, people do dress up and paint themseleves to support their team, how is dressing up as a favorite character any different?
