If you mean that English is boring, then yes. But if you mean it's too tough, I think math deserves that honor.

Everyone's trying to restrict everything and keeping the knowledge away from the children. It does more harm than good. Let the kids learn from their mistakes or they'll be making those mistakes later on in life when it'll hurt.

I agree with this, we are wrapping kids up in bubble wrap and i think this has spawned the jackass culture

I can just see it now: Jackass in the future, doing "crazy stunts" that were normal today. Riding a bike without a helmet and kneepads! Look out, that guy's crazy!

same thing happened at my school but under different circumstances.

it was only a small school i used to go to, most it had since i went their was like 60 students. we used to play dodgeball every rainy day in the gym but one day we had a transfer student. she was i think grade 6 but since it was such a small school we ussually had grade 5+ play a game of dodgeball while 4- stayed in class doing crafts ect. anyway we were getting ready to play ball when the pricaple came up to us and told us we had a choice. we could either play dodge ball and leave the new kid out of the game or ban it and play a different sport. we asked him why and he said that she had a brain disorder and couldn't be hit in the head or els she'd have seizures (i don't even think they're alowd to tell medical information?) we had a vote and that day until i left it we didn't have another game of dodge. we were a tight knit school so it never sat well with any of us if anyone had detentions or the like so i don't think that anyone really cared.

sorta off topic.

i went to a rifle training course one year... as the name implies it trains people how to use guns, only 16-18 year olds i think. any way at the end of the camp we get to design our own class shirts. we had this cool reaper with a scyth but instead of a handle it had a rifle stock. we also were going to get a class picture and we wanted each of us to have our rifle in the picture. the person who ran the camp said no because it was to 'violent'. ya.... this coming from a camp that was training people to use rifles?

funny world we live in.

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

Back in elementary school, we used to be allowed to play anything really. Somehow, we managed to get football, soccer, dodgeball, kickball, and wallball all banned in the same year.

I'm all for allowing these "rough" activities, it's good for kids. It's usually not the principals fault for it, rather parents who complain to him.

We played some pretty stupid sports in gym. One water sport I remember was, more or less, "everybody drown the ball-holder." The goal was to hold on to the ball the longest. If you are completely submerged underwater, you must release the ball. Not surprisingly, it always ended up being 15 or so people forcing one person underwater until the ball was released. :?

Banning dodgeball, though? That's just ridiculous.

Smear the queer ? We called it kill the carrier at my old school.

Oh and we used to play "the Gauntlet." We had 2 versions during gym: version A had you run down the middle of the gym while people on the sidelines whipped these stupid foam balls at you. Version B had you run down the middle of the gym while people on the sidelines shoot tennis balls at you with hockey sticks XD.

That's why you're on the TZDF blackdawn. Even your balls can tear zombies to shreds.

If there is one thing I know, Dogeball is awesome. Overreacting parents and teachers need to be shot for banning it. Seriously, people are naturauly violent. We need activities such as dogeball and other varias activities to let out our violence and competitive nature. Otherwise it just builds and builds until you smash a persons face in for asking you for directions.

If you choose your beliefs/lifestyle simply based on what your parents want, then you are a weak minded individual and are not even worthy of calling yourself a person.

I remember playing dodgeball ages ago. You play in most gyms with balls that weigh 1/3 pound if even, made out of foam. There's no possible way anyone can hurt themselves with those things unless they start eating them.

If you are playing with rubber balls, there is an issue. But foam balls that are softer than NERF? Please.

Here in Singapore, nobody even mentions Dodgeball let alone play it.

Seems so much fun...

Used to play it every games day in the NCC.

My mistake is always the same.I dodge all the balls easy like.I bend down to grab one,and get one in the face.

Today in P.E. we were supposed to play dodgeball. I was really excited because I'm not good at many sports, but this is one of the few that I'm good at, and have fun with. Also, it really relieves stress.

As we were about to start, the principal came in and shut us down. The coach asked why and the answer was : "It's not a very nice game. Do you really want to tell these kids to hurt each other? Dodgeball promotes violence, so it has been banned from the district."

This. Sucks.

Agree? Disagree? Have a similar story?

Thats the problem, there are wackos trying to ban every single sport imagineable in this world because its "unsafe"

I personally tell them "up yours" because sports are a fun way to get active and for people to get fit.
