Kimberly
do you get prayer exp if you bury the bones there? Well, I haven't trained prayer today, yet when I track my prayer exp, it's +14. So I think you get prayer exp for when you successfully bury a bone that restores your avatar's level.
aaron5140
Games take too long and also waiting time needs to be adjusted. Ancients rules! Think i'll go back to waterfiends. Ravenkana
From what I hear, for I am currently non members, this game is Castle Wars meets Pest Control with a Black and White Motif. Forces of Destruction and Creation? Animal avatars? Why not go a step further and have a huge, black ape on one side and a large, white lion for the other. And where'd all the other slayer monsters go? Just jellies and pyrefiends?!? Why not put other monsters, in a wide range of levels. Maybe some hands so everyone can help and some nechryaels so high level players can REALLY tear into the avatar's required slayer level. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?
Danqazmlp
This game seriously has some balance issues. As soon as 1 team wins, almost everybody crowds that team en masse, and will be incredibly stacked gams for 4-5 rounds untill theres a monumental struggle for the other team to win, then once they win the crowd masses in that team, its really annoying. Aneron
not as good as stealing creation was, the strategy is kill people at obelisk and kill avatar in base oh well it's an amusing diversion
Danqazmlp
I found some quite good strategies actually. 1. ancienting on bridges/near graveyards. what alot don't seeem to realise, is that capturing locations is based on the # of people at the location, not kiling etc. The BEST way of capturing the middle is not to kill each person as they enter the middle, its stop them getting there, ice them on the bridge/barricade the bridge, works a treat, 2 ancients can sometimes stop 90% of people getting to the middle, meaning a quick capture and taking the enemy avatar straight down. 2. Highjack their bandage area. Barricade and range to outside the bandage areas, stop the enemy having bandages so our team can kill them mjuch easier. Alot of strategies are more disruptions than killing, but work very well. Want to be my friend? mario_sunny
Ways to make this game 100% perfect: Fix the balance problem - Simply make Soul wars exactly like Castle wars, both teams must be equally balanced give or take 1 person. Make multiple games - Waiting is tolerable in castle wars, but for Soul wars it's a very, very bad idea to have only one game running at one time. The official Soul wars world is in chaos right now because some people have to wait over 40 minutes just to get in a game. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( . AlexDT
I find the games are often more balanced if you play on non-SW worlds - just played a game in 98, and we almost drew 2-3. Camping the supplies area is just plain cheap, simply because the take-x dialogue can be interrupted by someone attacking you with an msb on rapid. Should be behind a barrier, like CW. Also, is it just me or is 7350 hitpoints exp per point at level 92 waay too high? Assuming I always won, I could gain about 60k exp/hr in hitpoints just from the zeal points. BabyPunchers
Very dissapointed with the minigame. Not very fun as it can be one sided at times, and a minimum of 28 hours for a abby demon pet. Yeah, I didn't get 85 Slay and and Abby head just to spend 28 hours trying to show it off. I'll stick with my Chameleon kthxbai. Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. Because of you all I will start rewriting it asap.[/color] Formerly RobinHoodie. In optimum conditions mayhap, but since right now it's nigh impossible to find a skilled, balanced game, there's probably a 70% chance you'll lose if you don't choose Blue team. BabyPunchers
Still too high. Not to mention that you're giving up a bit of exp for it too. Either with the zeal or the exp you would've gotten in 28 hours. Not good. -.- Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. Cha0sx
Oh sorry, about 32.58 hours max, 10.86 min. Worse than I thought before, didn't add in the 3 minute waiting time :P
Lep
This game has no tactics to it whatsoever. Every game I've played, a team takes the Obelisk, they kill Avatar. The other team takes Obelisk, they kill Avatar. It basically repeats constantly until one team wins after the time limit. There can be tactics to it but everyone is too dumb to use them or do them. For example, NO ONE ever attempts to take the enemy Graveyard, I find that more than often I will be the only one who does and obviously I can't because I'm alone. If you take the damn Graveyard then they spawn twice as far from the Obelisk. :x Also as soon as your Avatars level is lowered, it will always die. Buried Bones don't restore it's level enough, it dies no matter what. It is so lame.
mario_sunny
I really like this game because it is similiar to castle wars. The basic concept of the game is very simple. Also... I feel like the game is very relaxed like castle wars. You aren't forced into the action all the time. You can just sit back in the defensive position and whip a few intruders. That's what I love about castle wars- there are so many rules but it can be very simple without many complex tactics. I hate complexity in minigames... this is real easy with very few rules. I truly find this minigame addicting and I'm glad they have sweet rewards. I might just get that abyssal whatever. Although the exp is pretty great... 20k ranged exp for every game you win. Very awesome. I think this may be the next pest control (except without the opponents being NPCs, which will probably give Soul wars more respect). Good job jagex. After dishing out crap after crap of minigame you have finally got it right (and not trying to sound mean here, really, it's a great minigame!). I don't know what you did, but you better do it again for all future minigames. Silver_Corner
Oh sorry, about 32.58 hours max, 10.86 min. Worse than I thought before, didn't add in the 3 minute waiting time :P But.. in retrospect, 32 hours isn't all that much. Gold CW armor takes like a minimum of 600 hours? Both are "just for looks", so i don't see a problem with 32 hours of gameplay for the highest reward. The game is a lot of fun, but does have its balance issues.. If an enemy takes control of the middle and your re-spawn grave, it is almost completely impossible for you to regain control or tie the game. To make regaining control easier, the way the obelisk works should be changed. If an obelisk is controlled by a team, only that team can use it, however if it is not controlled, any team can use it. This allows teams to regain lost ground a little easier even if all their control stations have been taken over. EDIT: Another idea too is that, when your Avatar dies it sends a last resort attack to your opponents Avatar lowering the slayer requirement to attack by 50. So you cannot simply be on the offensive all the time. You'd have to use defensive tactics too or you'll find your opponents catching up pretty quick. I kinda like that idea. Dino_Da_Gino
You know, for all the flaws, I'm enjoying this game. I've only played 2 rounds, but I think it's fun in its own way. I have 5 zeal already, and the 85 needed for the abyssal demon pet (which I really, really want) will give me something to stay motivated for. It's not perfect, but I like it.
