PoorLepRecon
My parents bought me a 2001 Hyndai Elantra for me to learn a stick shift on. The car isn't technically mine, I have to pay it off if I want it. It is the car I use all the time though, so I do count it as mine. bloodyhatchetbear
My first car was a 79 chevy chevette (whoa! a 79 vette!!!). Chevette and Corvette are two totally different cars. I think my parents had a little yellow Chevette when I was really little. It was ugly as sin, and really tiny. Ya know, I'm turning 25 next month, and still have not owned my own car. Right now, I drive the same truck as my fiance, but I don't call that owning my first vehicle. I will eventually own my first car. Just not yet. hellbellz
2009 Nissan Sentra. I feel like the spoiled boy everyone hates, but I'm not that way. I'm grateful of my car, I expected something from the early 00's.
LawrenceHoward
My first and current car: a 66' Mustang Coupe :] Bought it for 3500 dollars of my own money, original everything, those old Windsor/Cleveland engines last about 300k miles, mine has 140k on it. Doesn't look very nice, it's poop brown, but hot damn it runs great and i get alot of compliments on it . Good investment too, my car will never go DOWN in value unless i crash it. Skull
If it's not our old piece of crap minivan than I have to probably buy my own. Which will be an equally crappy car, since I have about $1000. Orpheus
Eh, my mom spoiled me: '03 Nissan Frontier, 85k miles, $7000, runs like a dream, and is supposedly extremely durable, one I've seen lasted a good 400k miles. I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal. OPEN WIDE HERE COMES THE HELICOPTER.

Danqazmlp
[hide=][/hide] That's exactly the same as my first car, just alot cleaner (i even have those same alloys) : , took me about a year of saving, 1.4, 50k miles ish when i got it, cost me £1200 i think, was a very good deal, my dad owns at haggling. Its a great car, Its so good being ale to drive around, the only annoying thing is parking, but i have almost a perminent parking space outside my friends house now :) For me, my first car wasn't as big of a freedom call as most, because i had a moped for two years before getting it, but it was still great to be able to get around, and now in the warm too. And is it just me, or do Americans get incredibly nice cars for their first cars? Do you have the same insurance issues there? because thats probably the main reason people don't have really nice first cars here in the UK. Want to be my friend? OldJoe
Well, since i'll probably be taking my diving liscence in the autumn i might aswell pop in with a reply. As a first car, well hmm... There's loads of Volvo 740/Saab 9000 around... Cheap, pretty easy to repair and reliable (well, 740 atleast), bit boring tho. I know i'll buy a bit nicer car when i've worked for a couple of years later on (good thing i'm moving to Germany later as there's much less tax on their cars than here in Sweden). As i've been thinking, well, you spend alot of time in the car, so why not spend a bit on it. I mean, i think the Saab 9-5 is great... But i'd want something a little bit more "special". But not an Audi, BMW or a Merc, too high price for what you get as standard equipment, expensive spare parts, bad customer service (Merc) and if you want a bit of oomph in one of those you'd have to pay alot - too much in my mind. So if i go by current ones, hm... Jaguar x-type is pretty good but still a heafty lump of cash. A pre 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX, ah. Good car, good value. I'm just rambeling on here.
