Sense of accomplishment, my friend. :)

Oh yea i fully agree with the sense of accomplishment, different people get it from different things. I myself get more of a sense of accomplishment from making 500k in one night than if would if i cut down yews for 2 hours or so.

Not everyone is lucky enough to have the oppurtunity to do that

If your referring to zarfot, he mentioned in his merching guide that he has never merchanted rares, and has only flipped. To be perfectly honest, that opportunity has always been there since the GE.

Though if you have qualms with merchanting or flipping in general (Profiting off others, feels like cheating sort of thing), thats a whole other issue altogethor.

ah its a more sence of accomplishment to nolife rc 3 days for 33m than get the same 33m from frost dragon visage.

but id much rather have the cash right thier quick

i dont merchant i just solo bosses once in awhile or do frost dragons ;)

oh and yup zarfot has done alot of stuff like that where he made it so noone can do his method again lol

Making a video about training craft by d stones and letting people know how superawesome it is while having a bunch of cut d stones in your bank aka getting 200m craft fast and with profit isn't called flipping, good sir. Neither is getting 200m prayer while the bones were around 1.5k ea, to just name a few things.

The D-stones and prayer thing was merely taking advantage of a golden opportunity, though he did kind of burn a bridge with that D-stone video...

O.O

I guess it all comes down to one thing.

We all play the way we want, the way we prefer it, the way we enjoy it most.

And there will always be lovers and haters, no matter how/what/when you do it.

:thumbdown: -> haters

(And it's very important to respect everyone's methods imo!)

Most important thing is not to stand still too long, and just play the game as you wish,

after all that's what it's made for. :shades:

Enjoy, gonna grab a bite!

Drumgun, here is why many players including Lan/Skiller/Zarfot beat you, they are efficent. Quality > quantity. And you complaining about game getting easier is kind of odd, why don't you just use those updates to benefit from them? I've played since RSC on-off and seriously, I use the benefits Jagex gives me, but I still could easily play RSC, because I've gone from the lowest bottom, as they could say. As I've understood, you don't really bet on efficient playing, but rather on quantity, which might be the reason you tend to call yourself "unlucky" with updates.

Just thought I'd let you guys know that the Drumgun here is the real one :) I've contacted him in game and he's confirmed that he's the person posting here on Tif.

And since I might as well get into the discussion: I don't think that how the person reaches it that matters, as long as it's legitimate - it doesn't matter whether the person was aiming for quality or quantity. Just like not everyone can play for 18 hours, not everyone can do the most efficient methods.

Heh, top players are a rare occurrence. Drumgun, why did you decide to lurk all this time?

Also, what else do you plan on doing in the future?

Hey, sorry lol I totally missed your post

Doing 200m thieving now I guess, then making more money / do dung :) - haven't read the thread for that long btw lol, just never had the time before to post etc.

Also EpicWin, efficient or not, my 2-3 years to get 2b exp incl getting all 99s first vs their much longer playing time while there are only a few people ahead of me in total exp totally disproves your statement, sorry. Trolling failed. Also, yes it is unlucky if precisely every skill I decide to train get touched by negative updates while I'm training them - while skills that I'm not training barely get scratched. It is also a fact that Jagex is focusing way too much on combat lately, just when I've trained those skills to 200m. You cannot predict these updates to come. It's called luck and bad luck, okay?

@ Drumgun -

Knowing how the ingame people can treat other people negatively I like to say frost dragons are quite space-y to avoid most of those people. The majority just find a free spot or hop when they go there. However like any spot there are occasional idiots but its probably along similar lines to abby but better money/effigies.

I had '3' idiots in total there. Aswell as about 5-10 people who wished to train directly next to me which is odd considering there is space elsewhere but not end of the world either. Which isnt bad at all. I guess hundreds of others were considerate. Obviously you will have more trouble than me idk.

With abbies I would say its better to have conversations with but at frost its a tad bit annoying having cannons fight with eachother even if the players arnt. You know..How you killing something then suddenly someones cannon interrupts your fight or even worse your killing something and your cannon redirects your attention onto something someone else is fighting. Even using chanchat you need alot more focus obviously. I prefer things like mic as I hate ingame chat anyway.

I also dont merchant so have to find other ways to make money too.. I killed 15k frost dragons for level 100 range because it was my goal to achieve that rather than money but I knew I make cash in the process. .. =p Fortunately my goals dont reach as far as 200m all as im getting too old age wise for that. (23 =p) However I do want to get two 200m in a few years time. Even if it takes a long time for me and rl stuff. Obviously I may decide otherwise if I suddenly became a dad or something absurd. Though I may decide otherwise all together and want to do something else in life. Just play aslong as I find it fun tbh. General rule of my life - If it aint this game then I prob be playing something else. I love gaming too much and weird in that way. Fortunately I have a gf who accepts that about me and I make sure I spend alot of time with her too.

Oh btw! I just compliment your ability to write long posts while playing the game. Most of my posts are while im playing too but I dont write posts quite that long or I get too annoyed too quickly switching between monitors between clicks lol. Even with shortcuts on my mouse its still too annoying.

0_0 Umm just as I was about to submit this post a jagex mod appeared in varrock bank throwing snow and stuff..... Very random.. Suppose that means I should upload a pic random pictures thread. =p

edit: he said he was at runefest. Seems to have gone now. Bit offtopic lol.

And finally, Pere. First of all I think you're not being very objective. While this is being discussed on TipIt and that guy is apperentaly is a TIFer, it is understandable that you aren't, but I hope you realize that there's always 2 sides of the story, and you've only heard his side so far. Now I don't think you're in a position to demand for any justification, nor do I like the tone in the rest of your post. It's probably a waste of time to tell you what really happened, but I'll tell you anyway.

Well, this goes to show that the tone of posts over the internet can be taken in totally wrong ways. I was merely asking for your side of the story, and I got it. Thankyou.

You read my post in the completely wrong tone. None of what you think I meant is true about that post.

Also, I was not in any way trying to imply that you broke game rules when you did summoning at all. Let me clarify.

I believe Jagex claims that they monitor account activity looking for anything unusual. For example, very long periods of being logged in, or gaining massive amounts of xp in a short period of time. If this is indeed the case that Jagex does this, then I would guess that they run a program that notifies them of accounts that are doing "out of the ordinary" things. Now, it wouldn't be good PR for Jagex to simply smack anyone they notice with the ban hammer, so presumably they would look further into things. If this is indeed the case, how did you avoid this. Did you notify Jagex saying, "oh hey, im gonna get lots of xp between these dates, its really gonna be me, dont worry" or did a Jmod perhaps turn up and talk to you for a bit while you were summoning?

I was not implying that you were botting in any way. Merely wondering if Jagex may have thought you were, or if this wasn't a problem at all.

We have been very lucky to have the insights of 2 top players now, Drumgun and Aasiwat. It is interesting to know that while we have been discussing Drumgun's progress, we had assumed his ultimate goal was to max out. It's nice to find out our assumptions were misfounded. It's also nice to know what motivates a top player to keep his gameplay on the extreme level.

Congratulations are also in order: Drumgun is the first player to 7 and 8 skills at 200M. Unless Jagex removes that cap someday, he will always be engraved in RS history for having achieved that. Seeing as he is still playing at a very intense pace, we can also assume he will be the first to reach 9 and 10 skills also. This is an impressive feat and congrats! Good luck also with IRL stuff, having goals and trying to reach them is the way to go.

I must agree. Now we just need to get Zarfot, Jdelacroix, and Lan in here.

And random question that popped into my head, since it seems some of the top players do come here. Does xp still register in your xp counter if you are doing something for which you already have maxed out the xp in?

I doubt it would. After 200M, they can't get any more experience, so the XP tracker wouldn't count anything.

It's very nice to have more high skilled players here. I must admit my confusion, why is everybody racing between Drumgun and Zarfot? SUOMI plays many hours too and watching his xp gain it looks like he's jumping right between their race.

@Drumgun

Firstly big thank you for your time to post on this thread :)

How do you manage to live with only 5hrs sleep per day?

Has Jagex never contacted you about botting, not insulting you but you know, 19hr/day isn't what people usually think is 'normal'. Afterall I think I heard you're a P Mod too?

Do you keep contact with Zarfot, SUOMI and other top xp gainers?

Why did you play CW for 2 years? I know it's such a great minigame but you know, 2 years is awfully many games to be played.

And for last...

When is your thread coming out? I'm starting to get curious lol :)

Whoa, this thread just keeps getting better if we can get some nice insight from all these top notch players.

I presume Lan is here too to give a little insights of what he thinks about the whole competition so...

What are your views on merchanting as a way of making money? We really seem to have two camps out there right now, which side do you consider yourself to be on, and, is all skills 200m your goal or as we have seen for dumgun it is not actually a goal of yours? Oh, and a personal favorite of mine(as it concerns me), do you cancel alot of tasks or do most of the tasks you are given? Also, what will you be doing on the bonus xp weekend?

Appreatiate the feedback

That one I would guess because he was in a clan with me *claims to fame*. Kidding, but I don't even remember Drum being that highly ranked at that time except in hunter and summoning so his mind may not have thought about anything else. Plus, it's hard to to cw a lot, that mini-game used to be so much fun.

Lan has posted many bank pics on SS bank pic thread (public), and it's very clear that he has been merchanting for a long time :P
