200M in all Skills

Well, someone has to be the drain on society. That's what taxes are for. Playing RS super-mega-ultra seriously amounts to willfully signing yourself out of humanity's gene pool. At least the "productive" members of society have that privilege. But it's not like people play RS for decades, it's just a temporary drug addiction that people will eventually get too tolerant of to enjoy anymore and perhaps move on and get a job and, god forbid, a family. Or maybe they'll find a new drug and keep doing so until they whither away and die.

Riding a bike for an hour a day doesn't make anything better lol. It's still leisure.

This post made me lol, playing runescape excessively makes you a drain on society. Infallible logic sir, bravo!

I feel like a noob.

What does S U O M I train at this moment?

Why doesn´t he go for Firemaking - 200M ?

He will get it on a month, if he plays - 10-12 hours a day?

570M (about) for Magic Logs, 260M for yews(?)

Yes, I am a new member, been following this thread for like 2 months.... Wanted to involve now.

He is training runecrafting (killing cave crawlers for effigies) That gives him xp in all combat stats too and it gives xp to some effigy skills

@bruhx

Believe me, it is not on-topic, several mods have cleaned/deleted whole pages of post just because of that topic

That wasn't very classy.

And in case you haven't heard, **SPOILER ALERT** we're all going to die and be forgotten eventually.

That's a good point. If you can get away with being a leech on society, then by all means go ahead and run laps on a pixelated obstacle course or build mahogany tables and remove them completely from existence immediately after for sixteen hours a day. Whatever makes you feelgoodman. Such a strange thing to be addicted to though, isn't it?

o i am not a classy person tbh imo irl ffs ftw lol brb afk

Who are you to say or even suggest that, really? Not only is it insulting, but it's just ignorant. Are you saying that if someone decides to immerse themselves within a hobby for a couple of years in the early stage of their life, it automatically forfeits them from having a productive future?

I sincerely hope that you find what you choose to do with your life somewhat fun and fulfilling, because the idea that you'd get butthurt because things aren't going your way and seek to take it out on people that are having fun in life is fairly pathetic.

I was speaking in terms of the average video game addict, who ends up playing excessively well beyond their teens and into their 30's, which you can clearly see happening now to many men. That's what girls are always complaining about, all those "damn manchilds" l0l

Firemaking would block an effigy combo which would mean wasted xp/money when investigating effigies in the future although he has said himself that he's definitely considered 200m FM just for the sake of doing it and getting 4b xp quicker.

People have suggested training it until like 180m or whatever so he can get the rest via investigating effigies to get the best of both worlds but I can't remember if he said anything about doing that or if he would rather just tank out RC all the way and worry about it later.

Thanks for quick asnwer :-) I learn something new everyday, no doubt.

I support that he gets about 180M EXP as you say, just to get a even bigger lead.

best of both worlds

Here we go.

A NEET, specifically people who are NEETs for a very long time.

"NEET is a government acronym for people currently "not in education, employment, or training". It was first used in the United Kingdom but its use has spread to other countries, including Japan, China, and South Korea. People under the designation are called NEETs (or Neets). In Japan, the classification comprises people aged between 15 and 34 who are unemployed, not engaged in housework, not enrolled in school or work-related training, and not seeking work." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NEET

Life is all about money, obviously. Money buys happiness.

Go to school > Go to Uni > Get a job which, unless you're lucky, you are going to hate > Reproduce > Spend the rest of your life rearing equally superficial and braindead children > Die

Sounds good man, where do I sign up?

Really seems like you didn't mean to say "leech on society" at all, as I'm sure most people here would agree that this is not what people think of when you say "leech on soceity".

I would say that if other people's taxes are paying for you to live whether it be on welfare or it's equivalent, then you are a leech.

Not all leeches are NEETs, not all NEETs are leeches. I will agree from what I have read that SUOMI is a NEET, but I draw the line at calling him a leech.

This is why you go to school and get a job in something you love, clearly. (I'm doing so - majoring in music and pre-law; I thoroughly enjoy doing both, and will be hard-pressed to decide between law school and getting a masters + doctorate in music to teach at a university.)

So, if we're playing Runescape, we have no education and aren't going to school? Or are you specifying those who play Runescape for x hours a day? Either way, I think your reasoning is fairly flawed....

Obtained quest cape and base 92 before obtaining any 99s! Currently finishing out my 99s with the (long-distant) goal of comp cape.

No, but if you play Runescape to the extent that pretty much anyone on front page of hiscores overall does, then you probably don't have the time for a job or go to school. Not talking about casuals who only play rs for like 3 hours a day.

I'm jealous, I'm majoring in something (computer science) that I have little to no interest in and can't think of anything else I'd rather study lol...

biased article. :P Girls are just as confused about what they are going to do its just a new confusion among all 20 somethings - with college degrees meaning less - jobs that actually lead to careers having more and more requirements. And its not just video games.

I spent alot of time not in school/not working honestly it helped me gain a much better relationship to my family. I played runescape alot. Now im in school does that make it all better i think not - most classes are still useless.

Sorry I don't know if you were replying to me or not, but I'm going to answer anyway.

I didn't mean to push forward the idea that people shouldn't go to school, or aspire to succeed in life, I was merely suggesting that idea of drudging through education with no real goals or dreams, going to University simply because everyone else does, then end up living the unfulfilling and mirrored life of the majority depresses me.

I too am going through education hoping to end up doing what I really want to do, although I do love grinding some 'scape, and my playtime is almost as high as suomi's (Despite my stats being awful in comparison).

Just like to chip in my view of this being a waste of time, but first it is worth giving some background information:

I played this game for a good 5 years, it gave me something to drive towards, a goal. I quit in 2008, since then I spent the next 3 years playing a different game on console.

However I am now at university studying law, consistently putting in 60-80 hour weeks through a combination of study and part time work, put simply I have no time to play any games. As such I just stalk this thread, and have done so for the past year.

When looking back on the 5 years that many would recall as 'wasted', I actually enjoyed myself, I learnt skills, my attitudes changed and I socialised. If you have the opportunity to focus your efforts on a game (or any other form of leisure), take it, in the future the chance may not come again.

However, you must acknowledge when its your time to move on, if it is preventing you from a career aspiration, or a social aspiration you need to move on.

Something I live my life by is the quote 'You are either money-rich, time poor or time-poor, money rich.' You just have to choose which better suits your personality.

OT: Although I have nowhere near enough time, it's interesting to watch those who do can strive towards a goal I was so far away. I also happened to know drumgun, in a time whereby he lived by cw, with a relatively high hunting rank - it's quite strange to see someone so high up in the leader boards. (Castle war legends if you happen to read this).

People manage too find time for scape in different ways. And yea @ Athymy sometimes life feels like going through a similar path as everyone else but unfortunately its impossible to travel wherever whenever and do whatever you want in life and I guess if life was like that then the times that true vacations happen it would be less fun.

My math instructor has always told me to live life to its fullest when you're young because when you get older, you will get a job you will hate. There is the odd chance that you will go to work that you will enjoy, but most of the time this isn't the case. You are only a child once - don't waste it.

Obviously you have to know where to find a correct balance, but you can't always just devote your time to just working all the time. That isn't healthy for anyone. "All work and no play makes John a very dull boy."

And after 2 pages of discussion and 10 people answering the question which is not directed to them, the question still stands.

Suomi, why do you want 200M in all skills and why do you decide to spend your time on a videogame?

Can everybody now just NOT answer this except for Suomi? How hard can it be, unbelievable.

Playing Runescape is not incompatible with life in general. I study Physics at uni, and still have plenty of time to play. Its all about getting the balance right for you, if people enjoy RS enough, and have the finances to support themselves, I have no objection to them playing runescape 12+hrs a day. After all, its their life at the the end of the day. If people are living off benefits when they are perfectly capable and healthy to get a job its another matter, but since you generally don't know the personal circumstances of someone playing RS, you can't assume thats the case.
