Did you enter through the portal or by a teleport?

I think you have to enter through the portal for a stone to appear, but I haven't tried to get one so idk.

Entered through portal, and just got my first stone. It appeared on the ground. Does this happen all the time? My inventory is not full so idk why it was on the ground. Also when it lands on the ground will it disappear or stay there?

Mineing stone doesn't apear to be based on if you get ore but the swings you do per rock. in other words you get a rock without actually getting any ore. So higher level ores or rune ess might be best since you have to switch between ore less often.

Been lucky with wc so havn't had to cut many trees. does anyone know if this is the same with it? if it is i'm switching to magics.

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

For all my construction stones I have teled into my house. So no to that portal-only theory.

I can confirm that as well. I also noticed that the rock appears near the portal, not under your feet. I was helping a friend use his prayer brawlers, so I was standing near my alter and I noticed a red dot appear near my portal, which was a rock. Happened for both of them.

High-alching that REALLY expensive item in my inventory looks more and more tempting with every beer I drink.

Construction rocks always appear in the exact same square. Coincidentally, this is the same square where you appear after walking through your house portal.

I like to think that a magic leprechaun stands right outside my portal and decides to throw in the stone when my luck is right.

The probability switches (either up or down) when you receive a strange rock.

Hope that answers your question :-)

Edit: Hmm... rereading again and again, it doesn't make that much sense, perhaps an example will help:

You go fishing... your probability of getting a rock is 1 in x. You gain a rock from fishing, your probability of gaining a second rock from fishing is 1 in 2x.

However, your probability of gaining a rock in... say.. herblore is still 1 in x. If you gain that rock in herblore, your probability of getting a second rock from herblore is 1 in 2x, but your probability of getting your second fishing rock is back to 1 in x.

Hopefully THAT will make more sense....

very intriguing. Get 1 rock in 1 skill, get another rock in another skill, go back to the main skill

not necessarily useful for all skills, but extremely useful for nightmare skills like hunter

awesome find.

I think (sadly) that the Mod might be mistaken on this issue.

I rarely do farming runs as part of my daily RS activities. About 5-6 days ago, I decided to start doing some of this rock-collecting. The first thing I did was plant seeds, because I knew I needed to start doing that farming stuff since I dislike it, and it is the only skill that I cant "grind out" a rock for (i.e. you have to wait for plants to grow)

Anyway, the point of this, is that I got my first farming rock on my first harvesting run. Since then, I have gotten many other rocks for the other skills. In between all this rock gathering, I still havent gotten a second farming rock. I have only done 5-6 harvesting runs (which doesnt seem too bad if my odds for that second rock are lower) but, if the odds were indeed reset to 1x, then I would have to be having some exceptionally bad luck with this second rock (it wouldnt be the first time ive had bad luck...)

I mean, I dont have anything to prove this, and I would like to believe the Mod, but seeing that it would mean I am having an AWFUL bit of luck here, I'm witholding my belief atm. I do alotments and herbs btw.

Question, what exactly is it that you can only do once a week?

I just completed my first statue, and I went back to WC'ing, got two more rocks so I tried adding it, and it worked.

So I'm not quite understanding what I can only do once a week?

Finish the entire statue. Apparently, when you try to add the last pair, you'll get told that one statue going blooey a week is enough.

Respect to anyone who finishes this, I gave up ages ago.

Just finished mine an hour ago (first time). Going to see if I can get all of them before next week. Seeing I vary a lot in skills, I think I'll make it. It isn't grinding that is required ;)

That isn't proof that the game is even working as intended. I havent seen anyone say that they recieved a 2nd stone very quickly after obtaining a first stone. I have also been continually trying this method and have noticed nothing so far.

I did my first two sets of stones getting both stones at a time (not alternating), and when I got my third set by alternating, it was noticeably faster. I managed to get all 30 in a span of about 6 hours. Either I am getting more efficient or it worked (hunter and woodcutting I found to be MUCH faster).

Then your account is the first I have heard of this (though, I do admit, I havent heard many people talking about it either way)

I probably am just having awful luck. On my next statue I will still try the alternating method and hopefully I get the "expected" results this time.

I just make gold bracelets usually get both within 300.

I find coifs pretty good and combo them up with fletching maple longs to get the fletching and crafting rocks.

Hi

Hmmmm, i cannot understand why you're not able to see it !

1. the more players at one fishing spot the longer it takes before it is your character's turn to roll the dice again

2. the more players the higher probability that one of them is the one who rolls the fishing spot's armour-level instead of you - this is especially important if they have a higher level in fishing than you (please look at the formulae i made in my example)

i dont believe this is true, i think the amount of rolls is independent of the amount of people present at a certain spot

Then please explain why it seems to take longer to catch anything when there is more than one player present at a spot ? - i'm certain that it isn't because you are hit with the infamous streams of zeroes

yup definitely no waiting line for dice rolls.

may not be relevant but take mining for example.

If 2+ players mine the same iron ore at the same time, they both get an ore.

When was this implemented ? - as far as i know only one piece of ore spawn in each rock at the time no matter how many players trying to mine it at the same time.

If it's true (which i doubt) does this also hold true when it comes to mithril and addy ore ?

Except that that theory is complete BS and nothing like the game is written. The number of people DOESN"T FRIKKEN MATTER.

Well, do you know that for a fact ? - have you had a chance to look at the code...

I don't think you have, so my BS theory might have some truth in it after all - as far as i know in D & D each player take his/her turn one after another until an outcome has been made - using my BS formulae also take a player's level in a certain skill into account and thereby rewarding higher leveled players with a better chance of making a catch.

But in the end none of us can be certain how the ingame mechanics work, so the discussion is somewhat pointless.

This is definitely true, I've gotten the coal and mith from the same rock as someone else trying to mine it at the same time. It's a lot harder to hit Addy at the same time, given the average time for most people to mine one varies largely.

If you buy the gold bars, bracelets will cover the costs and make a little profit selling min on ge. Already waste enough getting the herblore rocks. Not to mention it took me 1.3k maple longs yesterday to get the 2 fletching rocks :wall: although did get agility and con in a few minutes  .

It is BS. Its been proven that the number of people fishing in the same spot, or cutting the same tree doesn't affect the speed of your own gathering. So yes, your theory is BS.

Well...it is DEFINATELY true that fishing spots move more quickly and trees fall more quickly while there are more people present, so you will spend more time moving to spots, so more people will slow you down overall.
