How long does it take the flowers, bushes and vine herbs to grow?

How does the jadinko hunting xp compare to red chin xp? I can only do 4 traps at a time and wonder if I should train hunting on jadinkos (common or igneous atm) or train on red chins and then come back to jadinkos at level 80+?

Great guide, btw.

Flowers, bushes, herbs, and trees all take the same amount of time to grow as outside the mini game ones. Jadinko hunting is always better than red chins. At this point red chins are never worth hunting. If you can only do four traps you can either do red salamanders, penguins, or falconry if you have a bonecrusher.

However you can come here at 70 and just hunt common jadinkos for a while because all of the seeds you'll get in leveling will be invaluable later.

Trolling by giving good advice since April 2011.

I've gone from 70->78 on commons, at 76 I tested 62k/hr.

I would like to let you know of another method. It's the same as Common+Draconic, but for lower levels. It's Common+Aquatic. At 78 I was getting 92k/hr, using Zamorak Favor Potions and an Arctic Bear. Here is the spot I used... Note you can't see the amphibians in the picture because my lergberry died, but it's still a great spot.

Also note that I'm using the mask/top and Zamorak potions even though I'm not 81 Hunter (got at 76  ), so if you don't have those you'll probly get 80k/hr, which is still better than just commons at that level.

Have been using your guide religiously and am now fully genned up on HH.

However

2) Make good use of your 30 minutes of enchanced XP!

After talking to Papa Mambo after you've caught all 3 God jadinko that week.

If you have full Witchdoctor and the god potions, your increase in experience will be a whopping 25%. Use this for Herblore or Hunting jadinko. Do note that all potions must be made while within the area.

Should be 15% - It's 5% from the full witchdoctor PLUS the 10% from the potion. There is no additional 10% xp.

Just a quick question about the clothes, are the odds of beign given a top or the legs random? Cause I've gotten 5 tops so far, no legs :(

50% each. You just got very unlucky there.

Great guide, used to get my witchdoctor legs. Question; is it possible to get the mask in the same week you got the legs?

And furthermore, which huntermethod do you recommend me for getting Farming Potions fast?

1) Yes, the mask is solely decided by god jadinkos while the clothes are by catching the normal jadinkos, there's no reason why you can't get both.

2) Common + Draconic jadinkos.

Is common/draconic hunting really better than carrion considering the latter only drops herb seeds?

Under the "unlocking clothes" part, I've found that you can do it all in under 1 hunter potion dose. When you pick/dig up the red flower and plant the green one, the potion's effect still remains. Maybe it's a glitch/bug but meh I'll take the extra saved dose.

I found this in the "Potion rewards" section, under juju farming pots:

Quite possibly the best new potion to be found. It increases your herb harvest by an average of 33%, I don't think more words need to be spoken. Igneous jadinko can be found on the southern area if all its four conditions are met. Sadly doesn't allow the growing of payment crops when hunting.

Do you mean growing payment crops for the ugune while hunting? If so, this is wrong. Since a blue blossom is a requirement for igneous jadinkos, you can easily farm payment crops while hunting.

Camouflaged Jadinko is huntable at 79 Hunter, not 78 Hunter.

Other than that, this guide is very helpful.

I'm thinking of doing a major update this weekend or next week, as I have the week off next week. Thanks for all the compliments and collected data so far, though.

Great guide, got my Witchdoctor's mask and legs, about to get the top as well. And plenty of Hunter and Farming pots. Will be getting 90-95 Hunter here (will probably move on to Black Warlocks for the combined agility xp at 95).

and like the guy above said, using a hunter pot on the flower patch carries over if you switch it to a different type.

This guide has been incredibly helpful in getting me started on Herblore Habitat. Since Hunter is one of my two skills below 80, I've been wanting to level it up. Assuming I get the top tonight to match my legs, I plan to test a few other hunter combos that I haven't seen listed.

Currently listed:

Mono-Common: 80 k/hr

Mono-Carrion: 85 k/hr

Amphibious-Common: 90 k/hr

Igneous-Carrion: 150 k/hr

Mono-Draconic: 85-160 k/hr

Draconic-Common: 120-180 k/hr

I'll want to test out the methods involving draconics, since they appear highly variable. I'd also like to test Mono-Carrion since the differences between it and Igneous-Carrion seem unusual.

I'm also interested in the possibilities of:

Cannibal-Carrion

Aquatic-Cannibal-Carrion

Draconic-Amphibious-Common

Edit: I now see that the other combos I was wondering about are actually impossible, since i.e. Cannibal and Carrion Jadinkos replace each other. I'll still test mono-carrion, igneous-carrion, and draconic-common once I can, so that I can contribute some XP figures.

Edit 2: I've completed my first test run of igneous-carrion at level 78 hunter. I used arctic bears, scentless potions, and zamorak's favour potions, along with full witchdoctor clothing, all at the little alcove north of the vine crossing. Since I was below 80 hunter I was only able to use 4 traps. In 55 minutes I caught 107 igneous jadinkos and 115 carrion jadinkos, putting the XP rate at 125k/hr. I was expecting to get somewhat lower than the 150k/hr figure due to using 4 traps and having a slightly lower hunter level.

This also resolves my confusion over the mono-carrion vs. igneous-carrion methods. In the guide, the igneous-carrion method lists far more carrion than igneous catches, which led me to question the benefit of adding the lower-levelled igneous. I assume at this point that the vastly differing ratios to my test are due to differences in the length of the test period. Having caught nearly equal amounts of each, I can see it would be impossible to get anywhere near the same experience with mono-carrion.

I'll finish getting to 80 on igneous-carrion, then test draconic-common.

Edit 3: Did an 84 minute three-bear igneous-carrion run to reach 80, same conditions as above. 237 igneous catches and 125 carrion catches; the catch rates between the two really seem to vary wildy. This works out to 136 k/hr.

For both runs then, using levels 78-80 hunter with four traps, my average rate was 133.5 k/hr.

Edit 4: I did an 84 minute trip for draconic-common this time. As before, this was done using full witchdoctor robes, 3 arctic bears, scentless and zamorak's favour potions. This time, unlike the previous trips, I was able to use 5 traps, so the results are not directly comparable to the above recorded trips in terms of experience per hour. Most of the trip was at hunter level 80, but I levelled to 81 near the end. I caught 327 draconic jadinkos and 96 common jadinkos during this time, which works out to an average of 233.6 draconic catches per hour, 68.6 common catches per hour, and 161,288 experience per hour. This confirms that draconic jadinkos are the best training option available as soon as you reach level 80 hunter, since this rate is at least as good as the igneous-carrion rates. During this trip, I also received 6 erzille seeds, 6 argway seeds, 5 ugune seeds, 4 shengo seeds, and 3 samaden seeds. I received but discarded a single bush seed and several vine flower seeds.

I notice that in the main guide, the catch counts of draconic and common are essentially flipped from what I found, resulting in correspondingly lower experience per hour. I believe that spot selection plays a large role here. I used a spot which I observed high-level hunters using both in videos, and in-game. This spot has several draconic spawns next to it, but fewer common jadinkos nearby:

Draconic_Common_Spot.png

Hopefully this will help others to achieve the best experience rates while training.

Note: I have rarely had need to post images on forums, so I just uploaded my screenshot to the first Google result. If there's anything unreliable about where I uploaded this image to, etc, please let me know.

860 catches

169 seeds

Ugune x6

Samaden x17

Shengo x11

Red x19

Blue x19

Orange x3

Banana x9

Lergberry x25

Kalferberry x23

Green x19

That's my small seeds log for now. I was getting ~150 catches per hour (200 last trip, sudden spike), not using scentless or camouflage but with a bear, at 75 hunter. Common jadinkos only.

Just did a 40 min Carrion-Igneous run, resulting in 148 Pungent Vines and 67 Marble Vines at level 81 (hit level 82 about 15 minutes in). This equates to 175.5k/h. I was using Zamorak Favours + Scentless along with Bear and Hunter potions - staying at 84 (85 when i levelled).I have the (Witchdoctor) Mask & Legs.

Also I have found this relatively sustainable, ts not as 'expensive' on your bush seeds as you may think. You usually break even,or end up getting more seeds than you had initially. I started doing these at level 78 Hunter, now at 82 I actually have 1 more Kalferberry and 8 more Legberrys than I started with. I see these as a better alternative to Draconics in the high level 70s and low to mid level 80s. I am still yet to try Draconic-Common,but going off the the OPs XP rates they seem to have a high fail rate at lower levels. However going off videos on YT, Draconics seem to be upwards of 250k/h (at 99 Hunter), the peak being 280k-290k/g on one of Foot's uploads.

The guide very much helped me get into HH, which at first seemed very daunting and confusing. One of the best guides I've yet seen, kudos to you sir.

P.S I had gotten Witchdoctor Legs on Sunday, so I should still be able to try for the Top this coming Wednesday (tommorow at the time of this post) ?
