Gandorf61
I'm looking forward to the quest and the wolf. I'll kill him many times before the end of the month to stockpile some gloves. Thats what I was thinking too, while everyone is focused on this Zaros boss I want to stockpile as many gloves as I can for slayer. The dwarf quest looks fun too, I hope it has some nice requirements. Remember the first quest of the year last year? They tend to like starting off with a bang. I don't think you'll be able to get more than one pair of gloves. The amount of double experience would be huge if people camped at the wolf all month. Besides it's a holiday like event and holiday events usually don't allow you to have more than one of the reward items. Master_Smither
After reading the entire thread, I only saw something mentioned once. Will it be untradable and what would the situation be in PvP? If overloads were too powerful, why can't this armour be? I think the biggest problem with it being untradable: is that fact that you will NEED to lootshare kill this monster and it can't be untradable and show up on LS. Kind of interested on the PvP restrictions though. This could be the update to get partyhats if you're looking for some btw. Charms get lootshared though, and they're untradeable. I'm looking forward to the quest and the wolf. I'll kill him many times before the end of the month to stockpile some gloves. Yes, but other items like effigies, clue scrolls, and long bones, don't show up. I think the only way for it to be fair to people, is the have it untradable. I hate seeing GE bots snipe so many of the new armors sold on the GE, and then skyrocket the prices. Red_Eyed6
The best solution to the overcrowding is to make it CC-instanced. That is, everyone ranked (at least Friend) in a specific CC will have their own spawn. Then teams won't have to battle each other, the boss itself won't get obliterated by zerg rushing it en masse, and it promotes comradery rather than promoting being a cut-throat [wagon]. The community as a whole benefits from instanced team bosses, whereas the way Jagex has formatted bosses in the past fractures the community. While I agree, the constant fighting over worlds does degrade the PvM community quite a bit, instanced bosses are not a good idea in my opinion. With instanced bosses this guarantees that a team can just come and go as you please and not have to wait. With the current system there can only be 150 or so teams simultaneously killing the same boss, while if it was instanced there is no cap to this number. This would bring the item into the game at a faster rate causing it to degrade in price sooner, and stabilize at a lower price compared to that of if it was un-instanced. Plus I like to crash people, put my stats to use. I want to see people go there with mad gear to be the first to get the new items only to die a minute later because they don't know squat about what the 15 different attacks are. Rune Armour, dragon hide, and item protect prayer are our friends.
Estoc
So it's either going to be horribly overcrowded like most bosses now, hard enough that the amount of people able/willing to go are limited like Corp or instanced, which would be great, but I doubt they'll do that. Would be nice to go there and not be fighting with 30 other people over a single spawn for an extremely rare drop. If you had the brain cells to read the entire thread you'd understand some of the discussion and not post such utterly useless messages. #1..The new BOW will be expensive and hard to obtain. Level 80 Dungeoneering will be easier.#2..BOW, means two handed. Divine or another shield + chaotic crossbow will be much better is some cases.#3..It's doubtful they will be making the range equivalent to the Godsword, i.e., unlimited ammo.#4..It's not released yet, so you can't say anything YET. Red_Eyed6
All i want to say is: Good fight, chaotic crossbow. You suck. Not really, I guarantee that this new bow will have limitations, or a breaking factor. One of the biggest limitations already that we know now is that it is 2-handed, so no shield slot available. Also even though the bow is as powerful as dragon bolts, chaotic crossbow can shoot enchanted bolts that are quite useful in their special abilities on certain things. Mercifull
So if the boss is not instanced (like the rest) and the drops are tradeable then it will be pretty much unusable by the people it was intended for. I class myself as a high level player and I very much doubt i will be able to afford anywhere near what people are going to demand for this armour. Nevermind. Dragonlordjl
Well, there is an easy way to counter the "much more overall k/ph with instanced bosses" downside: make the drops rarer. I'd happily take a 1/500 drop rate over a 1/100 drop rate if it meant not having to fight to take/keep a world.

Jagex has pushed past the 250 HP limit for quite some time now, and we could possibly see HP 2-3+ times what corp has. Bosses with 50-100k+ LP wont die so quickly. If it has "nomad-style" special attacks, it could even be longer. I'm really hopping this isn't a boss you have to fight 50 other people over, get one hit in, and is dead in seconds. Rather I hope it is a boss you NEED 50 people just to kill it. Only time will tell.

Dragonlordjl
Unfortunately, OTG has a few really off-the-wall pointless requirements. One, 96 summoning. Okay, I understand the benefit of being able to bank your loots, but that's a personal benefit and not a TEAM benefit. Except at DKs, a yak and a pony are about equal when it comes to how long you can stay. This might change with the new boss, but that is to be seen. Two, 95 herblore. Why? Why not 92? I can make just as many OVL at 92 (or hell, even 91) herb as I can at 94 or 95. It's called the Stew Trick. Ya?
