Hameigh
While an Ivy for smithing is fine since I can't be bothered to spend much money on smithing, but it wouldn't be needed if smithing was ACTUALLY USEFUL. If they added more tweaks so smithing actually produced stuff that couldn't be gotten easier from monster drops and other ways then it would be the smithing update we had been hoping for. Instead we're going to have to wait another year before they realize we still want a real smithing update and then attempt to do a better job than this time. The EW puzzles are a pain, but I just do them with a guide so it doesn't take too long. How many quests will it take before we actually get anything useful from this quest series? Pirate quest seems okay, hopefully it gives a nice dungeoneering bonus. Also hopefully their Fremmenik longships worth of tiny tweaks and gameplay improvements to the Dungeoneering skill will make me want to actually do dungeons rather than just use tears of guthix on it. I'm looking forward to the ring of wealth update. I used to always use it until a year ago when I found out what it actually did. Though teleports on it are what I look forward to the most. Maybe I'll actually save up to upgrade to a fury if the RoW has a teleport right to a bank like the glory.
Sy_Accursed
The smithing update is deffo not what we wnated but it sounds like it might be worthwhile.Afterall they have said the ceremonial swords will be better xp than pl8 bodies shuld speed things up a little atleast. BloodAngel
Happy that we're getting 2 quests, though I may change that depending on what EW IV is like :PSmithing update doesn't sound particularly brilliant, since it took them over a year to do I expected more than a new sword to smith  RoW could be interesting, I'll reserve judgement on that until we get more details on what it does. Still useless for Slayer though. "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
Jmmy
When I read the first few lines about the smithing update, I was thinking that Jagex had done it so wrong. Then I read ceremonial swordsand hope started to return You do realise what Ceremonial swords are for, right? They'd never have been proper combat weapons, regardless of what theyre made of.Personally am slightly dissapointed in this aswell though. Like most others, was hoping for some sort of augmentation/upgrading of current armour at higher levels. I just got 97 smithing yesterday too... Ah well. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
Neltak
Problem, 99 smithers?Personally got 99 smithing b/c I enjoyed the skill, it wasn't until ~8 months after I got it that I heard about a possible smithing update. Unknown_Warrior
I'll stay positive, I'ml especially hopeful for the RoW update. And exactly Blyaunte.... It'll have hype for a week maybe 2, then everyone wont bother with it and it'll collect dust. And Green9090 my trollface > yours ;) Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.2672nd person to reach 2496 total. Thanks to Wicked for the awesome siggy :D
PereGrin
OMG, time to buy out RoW's.......yeah no. And hey, at least I will have fully unlocked the smithing update already. I won't even have to train to get all the benefit of it. Yay!........the only reason I ever had to level up smithing is gone.... :/ Oh well. Something useful from the smithing skill was a bit too much to hope for I think. Not a huge questing fan myself, I haven't even bothered to finish EW II and III yet. Well, at least the bonus xp weekend will get me 96 sum while using fewer charms. Already had the charms for 92-96 anyway, but now I might be able to knock out RC effigies once and for all! Troll Bomber
Just about spent my bank on 99 smithing so that I would be able to use the "awesome new update" many expected. Definitely glad I didn't now... Oh well. I'll have to try out the new RoW for sure though. Going to be a hard match to compete with my zerker or ferocious rings. New quests look fairly promising. Has there ever been much use for "elemental armors" or am I just missing something? Wonder if after a "full set" from EW 5,6,7,ect. you get some special sort of ability o.O Hopefully the thieving quest actual requires high thieving. Judging by Jagex's definition of "high" though, you may see a 60-70 thieving req. lol Oh well. Dung update is probably the most interesting for me. Still waiting for ROTM >.<

Yes -- but "more" experience doesn't necessarily mean "faster" experience. <_< One has to wonder if this isn't just another one of those "which is closer to the bank" kind of situations ... Blankblankblank
The RoW update looks great, especially with the ability to determine when it's working or not. That will make choosing between berserk (i)/ferocious easier hopefully. That and the pirate quest are really the only things I'm looking forward to. Ele workshop 4 just seems like another puzzle quest that will give out scrub gear, bonus weekend I probably won't do anything, and the smithing update doesn't interest me unless it's a better way to get 80.
