March 15, 201115 yr Is there much point in fero rings now other than teleporting to kuradal now the row actually gives good stuff? Perhaps they should make fero ring act as a row instead of a rol. March 15, 201115 yr Because just like almost all monsters could drop an 8m shield half years ago, they can now drop x amount of herbs or metals etc. Many monsters have had drops more expensive than their unique drops for a long time. But can you tell me the reason for this change now? like how are the steels from yesterday different from the steels of today that they should drop 2m an hour more? And it's not only about the new drops, it's good that they are adding those, but really, nothing in the game so far dropped more than 1 torstol at a time, now steels drop 160? come on, it's just not balanced at all. The point was, no one complained before when there were drops worth MORE THAN party hats from almost every monster in the game. Why does Jagex updating that now to make monsters have a chance of dropping good things once more a bad thing? They're updating the game. The price of the old drops has decreased so they add new drops. Simply concept really. You don't get balance at all, do you? tip: Riding a bicycle on your head is not smart. I'm all for new drops and new drop tables, as long as they are balanced(which, evidently, they aren't). As others have stated I've yet to see proof of this 150+ torstol drop you're claiming, the number I've heard was 78 and don't think I've heard higher than 100 which isn't a bad number. And remember, prices will drop because of this. You would be complaining if they added drops such as 50 soul runes or 50 firelighters or whatever complaining they're too crap and shouldn't have added them. Yet when Jagex add good drops you complain too (this isn't directed only at you, more in general btw). The old rare drop table was outdated, they've updated it and made rare drops appealing once more and not "God damn, 150 steel arrows again, rarer than whip!" like it was before this. It's now "Cool, 500 big bones, worth a decent amount so while it may be rarer than whip it's still a good drop" or even "Awesome! I just got 100 torstols!". Now can I question to you why you think that's a bad thing? I was just going to say that too, the bolded part that is. The drops sound nice tbh, haven't had a chance to try them out yet.
March 15, 201115 yr Is there much point in fero rings now other than teleporting to kuradal now the row actually gives good stuff? Perhaps they should make fero ring act as a row instead of a rol. Yea, my first thought was that RoW would have 0 use in Kuradal's dungeon but it seems that the chance of an extra million gp or more per task seems more worthwhile so the Ferocious Ring is kind limited in it's usefulness. Steel and Iron Dragons are the only dangerous things in there so your suggestion would make a lot more sense. "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."

Now can I question to you why you think that's a bad thing? It's not only about the worth of the drops but how too the drops change other aspects of the game. You do realize that uncommon massive drops of from slayer monsters(and slayer is one of the most popular skills) basically kills all need for anyone to ever farm herbs again? I can see this update having a devastating effect on farming not because the drops are worth alot(and i'd be fine with 1/10k 8m drops, as was left half), but that 8m can't be in stuff that will kill any other supply sources. Right now, they are basically giving out torva from abyssals, which seems highly unbalanced to me. For reference, a relatively new monster, ancient mage, drops torstols one at a time. A maxed person is able to kill as many of either of them, why should one drop torstol notes of one, the other 160?(i also got confirmation of the drop from a reliable source, and the pictures of 100 snap or 78 torst prove this madness). March 15, 201115 yr While the noted herb drops might reduce the number of herb farmers the increase in drop rate of tree seeds could increase tree farming. Swings and roundabouts. Swings and roundabouts. There are alot of people who do herbs just for money(already 99 or don't care about levels after 85). Good swings when herb farming will be dead but oh, you can use that money you don't make anymore on trees to...well, have a tree. First to 99 Farming on 27. March 15, 201115 yr Well, if the magic update didn't kill the seercull bow, the vecna skull probably would have anyway I think alot of people misunderstood what the magic update actually was. It was worded strangely, but does not really mean how it is stated. In the old system, if you were 94/94 magic and were reduced to 90/94 magic, your next attack cycle would tell you "you do not have the magic level to use this spell" and your auto cast box would turn off. If you did not recast, you would attempt to melee with your staff. In the new system, if you are 94/94 magic, and reduced to 90/94 magic, your next attack cycle will tell you "you do not have the magic level to use this spell", but your auto cast box will NOT be turned off. This does not mean you can cast ice barrage at 90/94 magic...This means that you will not attempt to melee with a staff if your magic level is lowered. Once your magic level is boosted again, you can cast spells as normal. If your magic level is 90/94 now, you will simply stand there and no be able to cast magic OR melee unless you manually turn melee on. This is the way it was supposed to be. Magic is better since you don't accidentally melee a NPC, and seercull is still as useful as it was before the update.
March 15, 201115 yr Sometimes I feel like Jagex only does QA testing when they feel like it.
March 15, 201115 yr I think we have a new contender for the smallest item in the game! It's so small that I didn't realise I had it in my inventory until about 15 minutes after I had checked my shortcut. How cute!
March 15, 201115 yr Oooo Im liking the dungeoneering tweaks, it'll make it easier to train now with my pure :3 Popoto.~<3
March 15, 201115 yr Lol I thought it was just me that had the ridiculously small "note", I spent a good 10mins searching the area for that bloody note before eventually seeing it in my inventory Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. March 15, 201115 yr I haven't read the entire thread, but to comment on the massive herb drops from monsters, here's 187 clean toadflax I got off of Dagannoth Prime earlier. I was wearing an archers' ring, not a ROW.

Then it seems like a good update all around. Xpx, Seed prices have always been tied to the herb prices, and further to the pot prices. Profits should always stay relatively the same with farming herbs as the seeds will also go down as the price of herbs go down. Want to be my friend? March 15, 201115 yr I have a strong suspicion these drops will be nerfed before too long. This is way too overpowered to remain. Jagex really has no concept of "balance"--- they either skew things one way or the other. Everything is either completely underwhelming or game-breaking.

Everything is either completely underwhelming or game-breaking.These drops aren't exactly common...They are not that rare, either. And when you figure that there will be thousands of players at any one time killing monsters that can potentially drop these items, the farming and herb markets are going to crash hard.

Jagex really has no concept of "balance"--- they either skew things one way or the other. Everything is either completely underwhelming or game-breaking.These drops aren't exactly common...just how commonly will you get a rare herb drop?Like maybe how many times per X hours while doing kuradel slayer tasks, for example. either way I don't like the idea of Jagex touching herb farming in any way.Coal's another story since that's mostly collected by bots. Why couldn't jagex just invent some more new content like vecna's skull?I guess that would take too much effort.

March 16, 201115 yr Skillers: Hey Jagex, killing makes 10x what skilling does. Doesn't that seem unbalanced?Jagex: Okay, here's a fix*Jagex adds raw materials to drops tables en masse*Skillers: Wtf?Jagex: Didn't you want cheaper buyables? This will help lower the cost of coal so you can smelt even more steel bars into cannon balls!*Skillers facepalm* Thank you Jagex for making combat an extra 1M per hour all the while killing skiller profits.
March 16, 201115 yr Now this might be a longshot, but since most of the drops are RAW materials, maybe this could be meant for processing skills to become profitable
