March 22, 201115 yr Recently the forums and various rock lobster/dk ccs have noticed that rock lobsters have had a drop of almost 60% to charm drop rates. There is also a rumour that this was an accident, but I have been unable to find a single j-mod comment on the issue. Is this a permanent nerf for rock lobsters? It has been really annoying for me, having got around 2k crimsons at this nerfed rate for 96-97 I am now waiting until jagex confirm that there is a permanent reduction in charm numbers. Also would a permanent nerf be fair? Rock lobsters are by far the quickest way to train summoning, and making them almost useless makes summoning even harder to train, and like the bonus xp for summoning weekend, makes those who already have their summoning high at a very unfair advantage. Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod![hide=old sig][/hide]
March 22, 201115 yr They've been nerfed? What? How badly? Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum
March 22, 201115 yr I don't have the link handy, but there is a post on the RSOF confirming it will be fixed in the next update You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.
March 22, 201115 yr It was a bug with ROW update, however it will not be a hot-fix like corp was. This update will come soon.
March 22, 201115 yr If rocklobs are gone, I wouldn't think twice to switch to waterfriends. It's still fairly quick to get charms and you make a nice profitoff it. If Jagex really confirmed this nerf, that would suck to all the pre-99 summoners out there.
March 22, 201115 yr So has the rate risen or fallen? 60% dropping charms I believe is quite high and reading your post just confuses me. :S I expect that they will be put back to how they were before and nothing else.
March 22, 201115 yr Seems to me like you were having a bad... ...update affect your drop rates trip All skills 70+ Trails: 2 x Rune platebody (g)Barrows: 1 x Dharok's legsDrops: 1 x Dragon skirt | 1 x Dragon defender
March 22, 201115 yr Yea Jagex have confirmed this is a bug that has arisen because of the RoW update, it has effected Hellhounds too (although as far as I can tell it's been good for Hounds). JMod post about it can be found here (top of page 2) [QFC]15-16-525-62549891[/qfc]. Should be fixed when we get the next update next week  "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
March 22, 201115 yr Author thanks for that link, and it has been REDUCED by 60% Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod![hide=old sig][/hide]

Even waterfiends were likely better with the best way to kill them and effigies added in. Lobsters was basically becoming a place for low levels to get easy charms, so i don't really have any problem with the nerf- it's not as if they are terrible now or that there aren't good alternatives. March 22, 201115 yr Ive seen a post on the RSOF by a JMOD on the 2nd page of a topic that their charm drop rate has been reduced with the update (accidentally they said) and that this will be fixed with next game update.

If Jagex really confirmed this nerf, that would suck to all the pre-99 summoners out there.Never knew why people did lobs. I've got 99 Summoning 3 times... 2 of those times 97 - 99 was in one day, or just over, including collecting the charms at waterfiends / TDs (for effigies). They may be boring and require more attention, but it's still very fast.
March 23, 201115 yr I've been hearing this a lot lately, and I cannot figure out for the life of me why. I still consistently get ~1k crims per trip, about the same as before the RoW update. Maybe I just failed at it before the update. <_< this link kills spam

March 23, 201115 yr What I'm most curious about is whether Jagex noticed this drop rate change on their own, or due to player complaints. If due to complaints, does that mean there could be other drastic drop increases/decreases throughout the game that Jagex didn't intend, but which nobody has noticed yet...? Alphanos

If due to complaints, does that mean there could be other drastic drop increases/decreases throughout the game that Jagex didn't intend, but which nobody has noticed yet...? That's theoretically the most important takeaway from this by far, but people are too good at whining for any popularly killed things to have gone unnoticed for this long.
