Rohanlord
I never would but if I ever were to bot, Dungeoneering would be top of my list. I hate it with a passion yet I need to do it for the awesome rewards. The Observer
Tempted, but never did it. All my levels were done by me using legitimate methods (which is why I have such low stats - although not implying that people with higher stats bot). As for this topic there's obviously a bias involved. Don't think many would even admit to even being tempted in a public board.
Cow
I've had offers to do fight caves and quests for people which I've considered. And of course every time I go mining or something and see all the bots I think of all the hours/annoyance saved. I've not botted though.I'll admit its tempting to go pick up a fire cape for someone for a cool 10$ profit, which would only take a few minutes. Oh well. Amethyst_Gem
I've never been tempted to cheat. I have an extremely strong sense of morality which I rigidly stick to. The downside is that I tend to expect others to stick to the same moral guidelines, which, unfortunately, doesnt tend to happen.
ixfd64
i have never tried to scam even if i had chance to receive huge profit...yes i have used macro short time in may 2001 when rs was new thing and friends told about how they can macro mining (as there were no bots or such back then, only mouse recorders..no straight rules, no punished examples etc) but got punished and sent to blackhole...after i got out i became 100% legit player and still havent event thought cheating. because my case was new in this game back then, final judgement was done by Andrew himself and he gave me 2nd chance...i was very lucky because everyone after me got peramently banned without chance of return I remember that. It was epic how you got out of there. :D ARENAscape: Baratus [AS] max hit: 166 with Moon Battle Hammer ixfd64 [AS] max hit: 116 with (untitled spell #2)
OldJoe
Nope. Even tho some of my skills, RC for example, has only moved about 210k xp since it was introduced, i wouldn't bother with making it if you said "right, here you go". If i lost absolutely everything on my account, would i cheat if i could? No. Either i would say good night to RS, or i'd dig up the old bronze axe and work my way back in the mines. The old needle trick in rsc was fantastically fun when you traded some players. NJE03
Never cheated, never would. And although I find cheating wrong, that is not why I personally refrain. The reason I do not cheat is because I would derive zero satisfaction from doing so. Levels gained via cheating? Meaningless. The reward is the journey, not the destination. The reason I do not cheat is because I would derive zero satisfaction from doing so. Levels gained via cheating? Meaningless. The reward is the journey, not the destination. That explains something. Most of us does not find griding exciting, thats why we call it "griding" in the first place.People find bugs like the penguin bug or scamming temping, because then they can spend less time on the boring grinding for exp or money and more time for what they like in the game (maybe its pking or other activites for them). AFK was againest the rules and it was considered cheating. The same applies to scams by "providing false or inaccurate information, for your own personal gain", although disputeable.(http://runescape.wikia.com/index.php?title=Rules_of_RuneScape&diff=1268795&oldid=1248109)We used to cheat by pressing random keys in chat while doing something else, afking in bandits and striking with magic on lv1 critters with full melee amour, in order to bypass the auto logout. We still get the satafction after we throw a 99 party, the reason is exactly because we dont enjoy the progress. Even if we bot or macro the levels, we still consider the time we used on griding not playing is a lot of sacrifice. Speaking of that, most of us cheat in MA by suiciding. If you consider jagex as the casino house, rewards are the payouts and we are the gamblers. Its a clear case we are cheating (collusion) while not breaking any game rules. Grinding away in silence would no doubt be boring and uninteresting. However you have opportunities to meet people, make friends, things of this nature. That is the key element which people who cheat miss out on. My_Eggs
Lol, just got another warning for a post in this thread. Fine, let me contribute to this topic in the way the mods would like me to: I've never been tempted to cheat ever in RS, I'm such a good little player. I've never scammed someone in RSC or ever duped items. 99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving. Jagex'd out of my untrimmed hp cape on 6/14/2011.

This is TIF. What on earth did you expect? Lol. The mods have stated many times that you can say, "I was thinkin' about botting," but nothing along the lines of, "I botted a while back." This is TIF... They live in the same cotton-candy land as Jagex where they cover there eyes to the real world and plug their ears to believe that nothing goes wrong and there's no bad people in the world. Odd thing is, TIF gives more of a rats ass then Jagex does about their own rules. Lol.

CWallaFried
Honestly yes, I've been tempted to bot previously when my irl buddy "achieved" 99 woodcutting using a bot. Not really, since people using the obsidian shield probly couldn't use a dragon defender. And as for the dragonfire, the release of frost dragons has driven the price of visages through the floor with all the people (and bots) camping frost dragons 24/7.
