[spoiler=click you know you wanna]
Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

Surely they had to see that coming though. If it was just 4 weeks of "nothing" for the duke, that'd be rather boring. There might be options that GAIN us money in the next few weeks, like increasing taxes or putting fees on some service in Lumbridge or something. They've put lots of thought into arranging this world event so that there was always something "special" going on for each aspect of the event. I just can't believe they'd let the Duke's Decisions part die.

I've prepared for this. I'm a level 5 luteplayer. I shall single handedly save Lumbridge's financial woes with my sick skills.

I foresee that the next battle will be more player choice oriented changes. Meaning that what we choose will show only for us. The mod developing the battles has been taking note on player feedback and interaction with this battle. I just hope he realizes what matters most to us.

Higher drop rate on tears and fragments and fewer NPC's to so the area doesn't lag all to hell?

THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

What matters most on average to people is getting clothing/exp. It's a very self-centered focus in runescape. Generally if we can't see how it benefits us, we don't care. The mods in charge of the event have a very difficult task on their hands of balancing that truth with some optimistic opportunities for those who take the event with a small degree of seriousness. Though I'm sure that they're experienced with walking that line all the time.

After the last increase to the droprate and semi-instanced areas, I think they've hit on a sweet spot. It's slow still intentionally so you can't breeze through it in a day, but a large improvement from what it was before. Now instead of taking nearly the entire time of casual play throughout the event's 10 weeks to get frags, you'll need a fraction of that. Quite nice actually.

When did they increase the drop rate of metal fragments?

And yeah that's why they need to make some personal choices for the players. All of this community vote is nice, but crappie on what most players expectations of the event. We want our choices to reflect content and these community votes aren't making things look enticing.

I think the reinforcements should help with the metal fragments a little bit. Apparently they drop separate loot for every person that attacks them--meaning that it won't be nearly the magic-dominated tagging spree that it currently is.

I'm waiting until then to get the majority of my frags collected. Don't really want to bother with the crazy competition that'll continue until then :P

I don't think anyone would complain if they made every NPC on the battlefield do this. It seems almost criminal that there are almost no benefits for community efforts in this community event.

Personal choices would be prey to the exact same issues, though. What ends up being the point, then?

As for when I thought they were increased early on?

The main gripe I have with the reconstruction thing is that all the assets are already available (guardsmen, militia, thief fighters etc are all already in the cache) so they could have made this instanced to each player. It wouldn't have been harder considering that they already do this on many in-game NPCs as well as areas such as Edgeville. Instead the look of Lumbridge is going to be at the mercy of voters who couldn't give two shits about anything except their total XP.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

on a side note, while saradomin voting for heroes is what I feel going to turn out to be a tactical blunder, it does fall in line with their in character "lawful dumb" line of thinking, in which individual heroes that provide minor amounts of healing (in this particular situation where dying doesn't have ANY penalty besides the accidental one they made) seem to be a viable option compared to several area blanketing siege units that would disrupt opposing players that weren't paying attention

Saradomin mage covered it well... We are forced to live under the communities overpowering reward/fashionista desires. I would rather live under my own consequences. I mean some things like the reinforcements could remain communal, but maybe leave the whole duke of lumbridge crises thing as a personal player choice.

Are Zamorak voting the same way as well? From what I heard they had, although I'm not sure if that's changed or not. It seems like both sides prefer the idea of having smaller, more common units to farm for metal fragments from :P (And get healed by whilst farming fragments)

Although I would love to see the Siege Units. It would definitely be the first time we see damage being done to people who want no part of it, disrupting the flow of contribution a bit :D

Yes, yes! My thoughts exactly, let the global impact of the battle be decided by the community but at least let us individually have an impact on how Lumbridge turns out!

I wanna feel like my votes will have a serious impact on the game in the way I envisage.

Duke Horacio: Hans, quick! What doth our fashionable citizens think we should do to fend off the saradominists as zamorakians?

Player: You crazy fool! I have single handedly slain Elvarg and brought peace to the shores of Misthalin.

Duke Horacio: Hur, hur rightly you have and for that I thank you!...

Player: And because of my experience I should justly be ranked as your personal advisor!

Duke Horacio: You make a fine point...

Duke Horacio: Damn it Hans I won't trim your damn fashionista friends antifire shield. I have more important things to mind!
