That's a surprise, so we have 80k left in the coffers instead of 60k...

I really wish they had done the the duke stuff per player or something. It's like every vote is decided by kids who neither realize that there is a budget, nor have any experience budgeting. It's making me crazy. We have limited money, what is going to come up in the coming weeks that we are really going to regret not having the money for? I know it doesn't *really* matter a hill of beans but it's gotten under my skin.

Edit: Karamja volcano is Mt. Doom? If there is an elder ring, and we get a hold of it, there better be a pithy message if you use the ring on the volcano like there is when you use a herring on the Grand Tree.

I guess you've never tried to destroy your ring of kinship at the ~lv55 wilderness volcano before, huh?

well, i know what i'm doing to do next time i can fit all my stuff in my bank again (it's super due for a clean out after filling with random slayer drops :? but I've been too busy irl  )

The exp you get seems to depend on your skill level and what level token you have. With the dragon token, it seems to be 2.2x your skill level. At 99 fish/wc/mining I'm getting 218 exp. I'm still at x5 tears, so I don't' know if it changes at lower tear multipliers or not yet

edit: still getting 218 xp at 4x multiplier.

Oh come on! NOW they change the exp and all the droprates? Did three weeks maxing out every day on the tears, gotten the 6000 metal fragments, all the titles, all the weapon parts and a developing carpal tunnel...

They said they raised the drops rates but honestly I haven't noticed a big difference...

I just posted this on the HLF:

The Battle of Lumbridge is more of a series of duels and small skirmishes at the moment. As a war-chief, I feel I could do more if I were allowed to command some troops.

So the suggestion is: Implement a way to play Conquest (versus AI or players) on a Battle of Lumbridge map. Mobilising Armies is fine too. Fist of Guthix, too. Bounty Hunter? Why not.

If you are particularly interested in creating the battle-feel, starting with basic Conquest, add:

30s turn time, fixed. Make it a bit more hectic.

Units can be bigger than 1x1 - combine units in the Setup interface. Allow you to command bigger parts of the army at once, sacrificing fine control.

Can move two units per turn - pincer movements, go. Also makes it harder to move in time, without quite making it RTS.

Units look like squadrons (see: MA). Mostly for the 'massive' feel.

Units are agressive: they'll attack one target within range, once per turn. You can command which: lowest health, highest health, closest, furthest.

The setup screen allows you to select up to, say, 2000 points worth of basic units (24 slots) + commands (4 slots) (as per Conquest rules). You can also combine units here and choose your starting formation.

Combined units function as multiple instances of the same unit, they just move together (in formation - it takes one turn to change a formation into the other). If one dies, the rest closes the formation (as you command), taking one turn.

I know it's a lot of work to get done (before the final phase of BoL), but maybe you can implement it for the next battle. The Conquest system is already there, after all.

I wouldn't mind seeing the aggression & combining units in regular Conquest as well, and an option to play with more units and points.

I'd really like to see soldiers that manage to kill players/NPCs level up and become more powerful versions. So maybe when they say something stupid like "Another mark on the bow!" they don't die immediately after...

I wish the champions weren't so useless. I mean why don't they have abilities like the regular soldiers or at least give them some sort of range attack. Or maybe let them have prayers. They're too easily killed.

Lol, I was pretty much spawnkilling the centaur ones. There would be another one to kill seconds after one had just fallen, usually quickly enough that I wouldn't even lose adrenaline. Not to mention, one "Assault" was sometimes enough to down one by itself.

I actually had a hilarious picture of killing a centaur right as the update hit, but I didn't save it.

Speaking of champions and being pathetic,

pretty sure the rock killed it...

The titles came really strangely for me

I got 2 titles on the same day on the first week, then non in two and half weeks, then 2 more in 24 hours...

Assuming 4 hours to collect 3k tears, that is over 15 years worth of time spent collecting tears for just Sara.

You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.

Well it only takes about 1282 people maxing tears everyday until today to get that many tears.

mind = blown.

If you take the combined totals we are pushing the 30 years mark already, and this isn't even half way in to the event.

Times 10. That's 100m+ contribution, which is 10% of the number of tears collected.

I'm a little surprised Sara has continued to gain every day. I figured there would be enough of a wave of players switching sides to get all rewards that Zam would at least temporarily gain on Sara.

[EDIT] I'm the first one on this page to catch that? All of your numbers are x10.

"Only".

From the empty days of hope, deny the darkness
Follow my voice, we'll run far away from here

If only to hide, to escape this life
And live forever, forever in the sun

Considering that there is at least 20k players on average online at any given time, the figure I came up with was indeed 'only'

Until of course I was corrected in that the figure is actually contribution, not actual tears count, which means that there are already 1 billion deposited in the saradomin side and we are approaching 2b tears total for both sides.

From what I am aware, there are not that many people that's remotely interested in getting rewards from even 1 side, let alone two sides, some are more interested in the XP lamps from the event rather than titles and whatnot. Which would lead me to believe that I'd be more surprised if the tables were reversed.

If anyone's still trying to gather sacred metal fragments but hates combat, there's a FC called "hop4metal" which basically calls out worlds where sacred metal resources spawn. They also do the yellow resource thing which will help you reach 3k faster.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
