Anyone that was interested in the remote desktop thing, I looked into it, unless you have Windows professional or business your SOL, home premium doesn't work.

Though of course remote desktop has many flaws anyway and using a simple, but cheap, piece of software like VNC will do the job.

You just have to have the VNC server running, with a password, on the system you wish to control and then VNC viewer can then log on to it via ip address easily.

I use VNC all the time - use my laptop to turn off my desktop across the room after using it as a dvd/blu-ray player at night. Use my smartphone to turn off laptop/desktop after leaving them on to finish downloads/updates. Connecting to Mum's desktop from university (hundred odd miles away) to help her if she gets stuck doing something.

 

And how would you do this from a phone?

You think it is possible to pull it off with a galaxy ace? :P

So anyone else going off the bruteforce path to buy upgrades to the port before continuing on?

I'm considering it, as of right now most of my slate missions are 5k+ requirements and I'm lucky if I can get 60-80% on them. I've got a few tier 3 crew members and I'm thinking about going back to skulls to get gun powder and leveling them up.

I'm leaving the hasty path too. I had a good day at the Hook today, completed most missions with ease, got myself a Chimera and a Clansman for each stat. Still, tomorrow I'm waving the Hook (mostly) goodbye and sending the bad-ass team out to get gunpowder and bamboo for all the port upgrades.

 

I'll be dging mainly for the next few months anyway, so I don't need all the scrolls and the gear and the xp-boosts that urgently anyway. I want to concentrate on building my port and getting the adventurer's stories completed.

Does anyone know what you need to make the rocktail soup?

Rocktail, bowl and spice from the PoP's...at least I believe that's what it is!

Pretty sure you need to input base stats. Go to crew list and mouse over seafaring after you have him selected in the bottom window.

Ah I had the same problem earlier.

You need to input the trait and personal bonus. You can find that when you select the crewmember in question then hover over it's stats. It will show you a break down on how it get's its stats.

Initially I would agree, but that would require you to change the stats every time that specific member leveled. As it is now, you add the bonus and trait and from there on you only need to change the level for it to be correct.

 

It's brilliant though. That calc has helped me a lot.

Did the barmaid's tip voyage get included today or yesterday? Totally forgot about it and just spoke to her but there's no voyage, not sure if I missed it or it'll come in a few hours when we get new rerolls (Right now it's 4:04pm on my time zone -4:30 GMT)

Anyone else had the black marketeer assassin random and then not been able to find the last victim?

For anyone who has gone back to older regions to get stuff, doe it effect what crew your offered to hire?

There's going to be an issue for me with the Barmaid's gossip. It replaces the third voyage... and the third voyage (I was intending to save it until I can hit at least 85% minimum, 75% atm) is the Chimera Straits voyage.

 

Rather frustrating. Oh well, it's a fantastic update.

It doesn't. I didn't talk to her last thursday and I haven't been able to get that voyage all week.

I sorta assumed yes and threw my crew into it with like a 60% success rate. It worked so all is well, but that was probably a really dumb thing to do.

Yes, you can. I failed the siren mission in the Skull, for example, but managed to get it again and complete it successfully.
