Ambler
So how would someone go about acquiring the massive amounts of coins needed for summoning and construction? I was thinking about this last night. If I were to do IM, I'd just do the kiln over and over again for the uncut onyx reward. They alch for 1m coins each. Rip my secret method. There's also things like Cockroach Soldiers, I made ~600k there in two hours from making the Carapace Bodies & alching them, takes ~20 seconds per world for 3k, along with rune scim/shield drops. ^^My blog of EoC PvM, lols and Therapy.^^My livestream- Currently: Offline :(Offical Harpy Therapist of the Mad[hide=Lewtations]Barrows drops: Dharok's helm x2, Guthan's helm, Ahrim's top, Hood and skirt, Torag's hammers, Karils skirt, Karil's top, Torag's helm, Verac's skirt, Verac's Flail, Dharok's Platebody.Dag kings drops: Lost count! :wall:4k+ Glacors, 7 Ragefires, 4 Steadfasts, 4 Glaivens, 400+ shards![/hide]
Sorator
Probably better to mtk the logs and still use gp. It isn't all that hard to come by anyway, and there are other bigger issues (Crafting) that will easily outlast construction or summoning worries. Why is crafting such an issue? Well what would you do for Crafting? Craft hides from killing dragons? Gold bars from LRC Am I missing something, or would you need gems too? And I'm not aware of a way to mass-produce those. There are gem rocks but I thought those were fairly slow. You can make just gold jewelry without gems. Rarely happens on a normal account, because it isn't useful the way jewelry with gems is (if enchanted), but it's an option. Also: Temple Trekking for the silver bars reward is great Crafting xp, too. Obtained quest cape and base 92 before obtaining any 99s! Currently finishing out my 99s with the (long-distant) goal of comp cape.
Octarine
The crafting xp/hr is still really low on temple trekking, and sadly its the best method of getting crafting xp. You'd never have enough gems to make gold crafting worth it either. Also crafting has far more useful rewards for training than construction Blog of DG, Bossing (mostly Glacors) and stuff - Runetrack Play Safe! - Got useful information for the tip.it website? Chaoy2
I checked the first post, and it mentions that the clan avatar buffs won't count. That implies you could join a tier 7 clan and use their loom right? That's not in the spirit of DIY (imo) but it sounds like a possibility for craft. Edit - Exp is capped at 25% of what you'd normally gain.

Arceus
Yeah, so it's heavily nerfed but I guess it may be worth doing anyway considering other options. I wonder if the 25% applies to the bonus xp one can claim as well. "Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." Golvellius
If you want to level crafting to get to blue dragon hides (skip greens if hardcore), then you are going to be doing clay, glass, and yakhide stuff. All of that can be done with minimal levels in other skills and the raws can be gotten relatively fast next to a crafting spot which is key on a new account. Urza285
Spirit gems in my opinion seem to be such a waste when charms are so easy to come by. Miss Lioness
I see it as a skillers way to get charms. In essence they are charms in my opinion. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' WeatherMatt
Gem rocks in priff are a good option as well. Crafting xp and spirit gemsThat requires accessing priff, though. There is something like 400k craft xp just from quest rewards, if I recall. Some of that is only accessible at a certain level, but it helps. Quasar
in addition to craft xp we also have a lot of choice xp from quest rewards. the efficiency matrix with that 400k from wgs may not be skewed towards agil/rc/div on an ironman account.... best drops (reasonably accurate/up to date): 1x Elysian Sigil (LS), 1x Arcane Sigil (cs), 4x Armadyl Hilt (solo at 100m, 100m, 50m, and 5m), 2x Saradomin Hilt (solo at 25m), 5x Draconic Visage (34m,1.2m,1.2m) and various cs/ls/ffa Nex splits. Tim
Is there anything disabled that will prevent ironing men to comp cape?Probably not. We're unable to do a few quests due to minigame requirements so completionist is probably ruled out. Though I did hear they were looking for alternatives, it wont be for a few years at least before anyone is even close to maxing as an Ironman. Wkw
Years? Heh.. Think more along the lines of months. I expect an ironman to max within one year Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum
xpx
Yeah, it definitely won't take many years. Just as an example, a recent pic from the screeny thread: Preferred black dragon task... yum yum. Shame I can't always be on task at QBD. That is about 3-4 hours worth at QBD, which ironmen can easily do(bane+royal). And it's not as though QBD is the only monster with most drops as raw goods. The best ironmen will just power trough most skills everyone else does and gather resources from combat. I'd definitely guess under a year for when a normal ironman account gets 2595 total.
