Ok, so I was in West Varrock helping my friend sell some armor. Of course, we were in world 1, where most of the trading(and scamming) is.

 

 

 

So, this guy wants to trade, so I put everything up, he put a fair amount of money, then dropped it at the last moment. Then I accepted the second time, and he got away with either steel or iron armor for 2k-3k.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, I once got scammed trying to get help on a quest. Back then, I was a complete newb, but after that, I earned all my money back selling cowhides.

Lol, i used to play rsc, and only a year after rs2 (current rs) was out, i decided to give it a go, in rsc i made all my cash fishing, so i started off with fishing in rs2, and was so happy that u didnt have to click over and over again every time u catch or didnt catch a lob, i sat there and fished my first 1k lobs, then some one tought me how to note, as i was used to "certs" which in rsc where certificates, when u want to sell "bulk" ammounts of things, u traded niles, giles or miles ur lobsters, logs or ore for a cert, each cert = 5 of which ever item. any way, i went and sold 1k lobs for 200k, and i was chuffed, making money in rs2 was much easier than in rsc, so i go to varrock, and stary saying that im buying full rune 200k, and i get a trader, i was so exited that im getting full rune on my first day of rs2, when in rsc it took me months to finally get full rune, i trade, and accept, and had a big smile on my face, then look at my armour and discover it was mith -.-, in rsc mith was bright dark blue, rune was bright green/blue. i was so upset lol.

Okay...So I was at the varrock castle a while back...A year or so...I almost fell for the armour trimming scam. This is how it went:

Me: Okay. Sending trade offer...

 

 

 

I put up a mith sword and platebody. Both people accept twice.

 

 

 

Scammer: Wait here.

 

 

 

Me: Okay. Scammer walks away with my stuff.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

five minutes later:

 

 

 

Scammer walks back.

 

 

 

Scammer: It didn't work.

 

 

 

Me: Okay. Scammer wants to trade.

 

 

 

Trade window comes up. Scammer puts my stuff up. We both accept and Scammer logs out.

when he does give back your stuff hes not scamming... :roll:

Almost got scammed yesterday on the german server.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I was buying 5k magic logs (1050gp each). This guy pmed me and told me to come to w140 (German world!), so I did.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I traded him, I put up the money, he put up the "Weiden" logs. From that moment I knew something wasn't right so I checked my bank and I see willow = weiden and magic = magie.

Here's a good one, so I'm down in the Hero's Guild, recharging my Ammy of Glory, and as I pass the Dragon's cage I see a lvl 100 or so fighting him with a D Hally. So he asks me if I'd like to fight it, and being my arrogant self, I agree. So I walk in the cage and he shuts the gate behind me. This is the point that I realise that I don't have an anti-d shield. I continueously try to open the gate, only to have it shut in my face. Now, if I hadn't panicked, I could have gotten into the safe spot and used my Ammy to tele away, but I didn't think of that in time and the dragon roasted me. Well played, nameless scammer, playing on the arrogance and ignorance of your verage gamer. That taught me a lesson in humility and awareness.

 

 

 

This just happened to me. I thought I would get scammed, but I didn't.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I am fishing on Karamja, and a lvl 3 comes and says follow to win 3k. So me, thinking he's another password or item scammer, follow him to report him when he tries to scam me. He waits for 3 more people, and then takes us into the plantation. Then he asks the following question: What sentence is hidden in here? And he types something like Ehdfkillhrhtmehrernow. Of course, it was ''kill me now''. He says I am correct, and that I won. I thought he would ask another question about my items or pass now that he thinks I trust him, but he doesn't.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Instead, he initiates a trade with me and gives me the promised 3k for free! I am like wtf? I said ''Wow I thought you were another scammer but I guess you're not'' and he says something along the lines of ''No noob.''

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Others low levels then start to beg for money as well, and since I didn't need the money, and I thought he might have gotten his 3k by scamming someone and ditching the evidence or something, I gave the 3k away to a lvl 5.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the end, I had people saying 'Wow ur cool', but I just couldn't believe this person just gave me 3k for free!. I am glad i gave it away though.

we traded, when i was checking if he really offered 4394 mil, he changed it to 4394 gp.

 

 

 

he was very slow so i could easily see it happening, i clicked 'deciline' and then 'report abuse'

 

 

 

most of those scammers are realy stupid, they yust aren't fast enough.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is impossible to have 4394 million, and if someone did, (which is impossible, i mean that much in networth), they wouldnt probably be going around scamming for 50k or something...

He only got bones :XD:.

what does limestone have to do with scamming?

I was in lumbridge, going to al karid for smithing, when this guy said he was giving away free stuff. Well I said, go on then!, and he took me to varrok and the stone circle to give me 110k gp, instead I got attacked by mages, until I walked away and got really angry.

well, A few weeks ago I was buying oak logs for con at world 1, And this one guy offerd 2k (19,452) and I was like sure, so when I traded him he took off the last 2 leaving me wih 2k logs, Lucky me I noticed and declined

They just take ignorant ppl and make them do quicklime without gloves, wich kills us and they get all the stuff we had...

He sits there for a while then after a bit declines the trade and exclaims "Wtf!! It's not tradeable anymore????" This means he was clearly trying to do the leaf spear scam but didn't see the update. Bad scammer :shame:

bah, i have sadly lost over 5m to scammers.... i fell for the veracs helm switch with v skirt. and i got pked next to the edgeville bridge with 3m+ in items and cash on me. it almost made me quit... :x i now am extreamly wary while trading anything over 50k. also i like to bug egde lures now, i bring junk and then when i get attk i attk them back and try to bug them as much as possible. \ then i report them.

Maybe he was trying to trade a Guthan spear 25, 50 or 75? Barrows stuff is only tradable at 00 or 100.

i doubt it cause he said "it's not tradeable anymore?" which means it was leaf blade spear, because barrows items at 25, 50, or 75, have never been tradeable

this so call "friend" pm me and said his friend was quiting rs and selling his blue mask for 20m im like OMG thats great deal for me so i wanted to buy it then he told me to sell my santa for 22m at that time so i did then i had 22m in my inventory. then he goes lets switch world so i followed after him. then he takes me to fally park.

this guy said selling black trimmed legs 30k, so quickly traded because it was cheap. I put in 30k he puts in black t legs noted. Then i presserd accept and 4got 2 look at 2nd trade window coz i was so excited, so i pressed accept again and then i realise he had quickle swapped it with normal black legs the first time i clicked accpet. This will neva happen again 2 me...i hope :oops:
