This was about 1 year or so ago, when I was p2p (currently f2p) and was selling a whip on the forums.

 

 

 

I was given a message by someone in game saying "I'll buy for 2.7m, meet in edge your world".

 

 

 

I headed over to edge, and he messaged me again "I'm near the man hut, come there". So I went over there and I saw 4 rune platebodies on the ground. I knew about this scam before, so I ran in, grabbed two and I was ice blitzed to death.

 

 

 

I didn't really care, as there was three items I had, not four, so my whip was still there, I had 2 more rune plates and another scamer gone. \

Yeah Happenned to me too, and the thing is, the person doing this scam to me has been in my friendlist for quite a long time..

This was hilarious.

 

 

 

I was walking around the back of Varrock to get some strength potions from the apothecary, and two scammers showed up, noticing my full rune with H5 helmet. Here is the dialogue:

 

 

 

Scammer 1: Give me your full rune and I'll give you 1 mil! I'll give it back! I'll even do it with this guy.

 

Scammer 2: Omg Ty!!!!!!!!1

 

Scammer 2: He's not lying!

 

Scammer 1: Trust me

 

Me: No. *Walks away, and takes off armor*

 

Scammer 1: Hop to world 107.

 

Scammer 2: K

 

 

 

I hop there, to find that only Scammer 2 has went there. (Maybe Scammer 1 lost connection?)

 

 

 

Scammer 2: (Scammer 1's name), Is that ur main? (He never bothered to look at my username! :lol: )

 

Me: Yes.

 

Scammer 2: K go to bank

 

Scammer 2: K scam the guy in sara

 

Me: No! You're an 8 year old brat with no life! Play this game like a real player!

 

Scammer 2: But u get free stuf

 

Me: Go outside and get some fresh air! Idiot!

 

Scammer 2: (Still thinking I'm his partner) Omfg ur a noob i dont want to scam wit u anymore

 

 

 

I then find both of them at Lumbridge an hour later, arguing.

 

After they spot me, they follow me and swear at me (Bypassing the censor) and tell everybody to report me. I got 4 free reports.

I was in varrock merchanting full Saradomins, just bought 1 set and had 1.6 mil left cash I think. Then I saw a scammer saying: Free lobs, show your invent. I thought ah well not. I knew that he could see my spaces in the little screen in the trade thing but it was a lvl 3 so I thought why not. I put up full sara and 1.6M, he puts up 23 lobs, I clicked accept and BOOM :-w

Been VERY close to falling for the "You've been selected to be a moderator" scam.

 

 

 

And some arse wipe spent a full hour trying to persuade me to trade next to moss giants when I was level 12 account :wall:

i had a thread saying buying 10k mage logs

 

 

 

guy pms me and says

 

"i sel magik logs 700gp for each won"

 

i was like heck yes!

 

he says he cant speak english well (no wonder all the typos), and said to come world 140 (german world)

 

 

 

i traded him for 10k mage logs and then noticed the ones in my inventory had a different german name, nearly got scammed...i said lmao nice scam

 

and left and went back to merching

Me (Talking to mate): Hey mate i just got full Sara off my bro

 

My mate: Sweet...lucky sod

 

Scammer: Hey...I'll buy that sara for 3m

 

Me: Ok (goes to bank and withdraws Sara)

 

Scammer: (Puts up 30004gp)

 

Me: (notices he never even put up 3m, declines)

 

Scammer: Wtf?

 

Me: thats 30004gp

 

Scammer: Oh sorry (actually puts 3m up lol)

 

Me: (accepts both screens)

 

Scammer: (does the same)

 

 

 

I scored 3m for my sara :thumbsup: noob must have forgotten to take the cash back or whatever these scammers do...and guess who pmed me back a few hours later saying "sorry can i have my 3m back i tried to scam you plz plz plz plz"

I love my Gnome Rogue

Once I was mining coal in the scorpion pit mine back in RS1, and this scammer comes up to me. He says he's quitting Runescape and was giving away his full rune. I was naturally suspicious, but he traded me, put up a full set of rune, and accepted. I would have gotten full rune for free, except I had too much coal in my inventory, I dropped a handful, and traded him again. This time, he says to give him my rune plate body to free up space, then he'll trade me the rune again. Since he actually did accept the trade for nothing, I foolishly trusted him and fell for this clumsy scam. He went to the bank, then logged off, and since this was before the report abuse button, there was little to nothing I could do about it.

 

 

 

I ended up without my rune plate body for over a month, since I didn't play for a week, and I was never fast at earning money.

 

 

 

I still feel stupid for not leaving enough room for the trade.

I think I must fallen for the oldest trick in the book...

I was after 1 Million gp worth of Big bones. So I went to the cheapest one which was around 350 each. But as I watched T.V, not paying much attention I bough 700k worth of big bone that weren't big bones! They were NORMAL BONES... But I didn't notice it. The I bought another 350k worth of big bones. And Again they weren't big bones.

 

 

 

So in the end I ended up with 3k of normals bones.

Once this guy tried to lure me to jolly tavern east of varrock and so i went there and when we get up there i see there are 4 red dots in wildy. I am about level 65 and i already knew this lure/scam but for some reason, i still run in.

 

 

 

As soon as i get there, i pick up a few green dhide things and some cash, but i also had taken full invent of lobs (but me being a noob, i forget tele runes).

 

 

 

Anyway, there are like three people and they start spamming those freeze spells and one of them comes over and does the poison dagger special on me. I keep eating and spamming clicks to run out of wildy but can't move.

 

 

 

My heart is beating soooo sooo fast at this point because i have a few good items on me, can't move, and am down to like 3 lobbies.

 

 

 

With incredible luck, i finally run out of wildy and all three of them run to me saying stuff like: "you're going to die" "good fight" "nice try, sorry mate."

 

 

 

At this point, i'm really worried and keep losing hp because of poison and so i just click lumby home port. I start getting in position to tele but the damage hits me and so i click to home tele again. They laugh at me and tell me i'm going to die. Finally, the tele goes through and i say "noobs" to them as they start getting mad at each other. I arrive in lumby, down to my final lob and run to bank...

 

 

 

This was such an amazing story for the weeks that followed.

the old rune legs/helm instead of god/trimmed legs/helm has gotten me before

Some Noob started making a competition: Person with the most expensive items win 1Mil. He expected me and some other dude to give him the stuff but I just showed him the stuff us ing the trade. Showed not give. :twisted: The other guy sadly got hacked lost 20K worth of items. Luckily I gave him 1K!
