I hate people like that, you think there your friend and you've known them for like 1yr or more and you've traded em items before and they havent stolen, then when they get rich and you do it they steal them. :( i'm sorry about you luck.

When i was lvl 10 or so my pc got a virus and kept shuting down then on runescape a guy came up to me saying im with jagex plz give me ur pass thers been a bug. so oviously i belived him waited a hour got on and i lost rune pl8 =[ sad sad sad but then i killedc him got it back pissed on his grave (jk) and went about.

I got scammed out of a mith 2h when I was level 35 or so. It was one of the trust games...

Ahh the worst i ever had it happen was when i first got lvl 40 att and def and finally saved up for full rune. I bought it plus a wep for about 200k then this guy comes up to me and says "buy ur stuff 250k" so i of course say ok. He puts up the 250k i put up the stuff. Accept and what to i have in my inventory, 23657 coins. reported him, but that really pissed me off. Still miss that rune.

Got scammed once before. A little over-enthusiasm.

 

 

 

Began:

 

I had fished 1000 lobsters, hooray!

 

I went to sell them all for a pretty big collection of rune.

 

Something happens... (This was way back before the double trade box)

 

And poof, I lose all the lobsters and end up with zilch.

 

 

 

Sulked for a while, then I got back, attempting to swear revenge on him in the wildy, of course, never achieving it.

one of my real life friends that play runescape ALWAYS asks me for money (not so much anymore..) well anyway once i was killing chaos druids in the blood rune tower and he says "hey can you give me money? i just got killed in the wildy by a level 139.." ( he was only like level 40-50 and of course your combat level can only go to 126..) (untill the new summon update i think) and he kept asking me for like 50-100k untill he just gave up.. he always tries this.. but i just say why don't you make your own money like the rest of us?. well it isn't really a scam but it kinda is like scamming/begging.. bye! :D

well this was a long time ago, and i still cant believe i fell for it... i think i was lvl 55, and this lvl 4 wanted to buy my rune full helm, legs, kite, and scimmy for 1m. i was like "ok!!!!". so as we traded, i gave all my items and she but in 1m, i was so excited that when i saw the 1m i accepted right away. then, accepted after that. after the trade, i only have 10k.... :wall:

I've lost like 20m from being scammed =/. The most recent one was about 2 days ago....so close to the trade limit update!!!! Anyway I was buying Dragon bones and multitasking (watchin vids readin stuff bla bla) and I got big bones instead....lost 8m!!!

I dont know, theres still some pretty funny things out there. Like lvl 30 "team cape merch's" who try to sell team capes at 2k a pop. i saw it today... what noob falls for that? :shame:

I was scammed by Jagex when the Grand Exchange came out and I could not sell my stuff in time. Now my bank has lost 30 to 50 per cents of its value.

 

 

 

I lost a few millions pixel money but did earn back 5 bucks per month. :mrgreen:

This was a while ago. I was near the Varrock anvils when someone came to me and said "hey do u want gold armor??" so I said ok sure, not knowing this was not possible, I was like lvl 11 then. I traded him my iron platelegs and body, and he ran off.. But I followed him till he logged off, but I added him and he logged back on in another world.

 

 

 

After that I reported him, and he gave my armor back :)

I feel compelled to say "I don't believe you", but instead, I think I'll say this: if this happened, you are so lucky.

new scam going 'round. they offer to poison your weapon for free, take it and run.

This happened to me a few years back while I was pking

Me: No I didn't! (At this point I walk to lvl 1 Wildy)

 

Scammer: Yes, you did. Now unless you give me your pass so I can get his items,

 

Scammer: I will have to freeze your account.

 

Me:(I get that its a scam at this point) Please no!

 

Scammer: I am sorry but I need your pass.

 

Me: Okay, its watermelon2 (not my real pass) please don't freeze my account, you'll see I dont have his stuff!

 

Scammer:Okay thank you, please log out, sir.

 

I log out, then log back on in 45 seconds

 

Scammer: Sir that is not the correct password. Please tell me the correct pass or I am freezing your account now!

 

Me: I swear its watermelon2! Are you putting it in correctly?

 

Scammer: Let me try it again. Please log out.

 

I log out for 45 seconds again, log back on

 

Scammer: This is your final warning. Either give me your pass now,

 

Scammer: Or I will freeze your acount in 2 minutes.

 

Me: It is the right password! I've had this account for 2 years please don't freeze me!

 

Scammer: This is your last attempt, if I do not get his stuff you will be frozen.

 

I log out, but then log on right afterwards. He logs back on.

 

Me: Awww, didn't work did it?

 

Scammer: I am freezing your account now!

 

Me: Go ahead buddy.

Me: Reported for pass scamming and profanity.

I add him to my ignore list and go back into the wildy...

The first ever trade I did was a scam and happened the first day I was playing 4 years ago. A random person walked up to me while I was getting my first ranged levels against goblins east of Lumbridge and offered to sell me poison for 100 coins and told me it was really good.

 

 

 

Thinking "wow, I probably can poison my weapons with it!" I agreed to the trade and the poison showed to have no other use than to poison fish food.He obviously took advantage of the fact that I was new. I was quite disappointed for a few second but continued with getting lost between Lumbridge and Draynor Village getting woodcutting level 17, thinking no more of that precious little money I had.

 

 

 

Thankfully it is the only scam I have ever been exposed to, hehe. :)

When I was a newbie I had a addy armor from my friend. Being level 8 I couldn't wear it so he said "Oh just sell it!"

 

So I get this buyer who says they'll buy it for 100. They're in the wilderness.Very edge. No biggie I'll be fine. Not knowing what the wilderness is exactly I talk to my friend(Awesome person right there. Didn't even know the person IRL as with most of my friends. Just started talking to him and-I'm rambling) and he says sounds like a scam. He'll come with me.So I tell them where I am; just out of Varrock.Multicombat area. My friend is with me, just not showing he's with me. Just walking around.

 

 

 

As he expected the guy trades me offers 100k then declines and attacks me. This guy is level 30-ish and I would undoubtedly died if my friend wasn't there. Level 100 against 30? He had a whole 10,maybe 20, seconds. My friend picks up the stuff and gives me the money. I gave it back to him though. He saved me

Actually all my buyers do. Sometimes when I'm bored i go to the wild and buy not often seen capes like ones that are deeper in. I buy a lot form about 4 different dealrs. you would normally see capes from eggy, clan wars arena, or the choas temple. but not ones that have wierd desinges on them that are totally trticked out. Me loving my chocotrice cape does not wear the team ones. So after taking 1k into the wildy and buying loads of capes i go to levle 20 wildy and home tele. i walk up to the bsnk and start saying, "selling rare and awesome wildernees capes." i gets loads of buyers each buying a siingal cape at 150 gp

Even if some numbnuts did report you, nothing would happen as you didn't receive anything in the trade. You could of reported that one guy for rule 9 (encouraging other to break the rules (rule 10)) and if you knew if somebody actually reported you, you could of reported them back for rule 10 (misuse of customer support).

well when i was f2p and had just got full rune i got a message form a guy called jagec 123 telling me give me your pass and ill make u a mem so i gave it to him and logged then i tryed to log as a mem i dident work so i tried to log on as f2p agian to tell him i dident work when i coudent likyliy he hadent canged my pass yet so i used recovery questions to cange my pass ive been scamed 2 for my pass both times theyworked liky ive still got my account :ohnoes: ive been pkedonce with full rune and i was skulled tooooo :ohnoes: but ive still got my account :P
