  7. I never give something I'm really attached to for anyone unless I completely trust them. Even then, the only three people I have ever let wear my yellow paper crown and returned it are the closest friends I ever have both online and off. You did the right thing, it reminds me of somebody years ago which demanded the same thing. :-k
  8. Waaaay back when I still didn't finish Dragon Slayer yet, crafting was the only skill I had no idea how to train. You can't really blame most people, since it was never explained in the tutorial... Then again, we didn't have a tutorial for ANYTHING back then, which makes my situation even stranger. :-k
  9. Can you imagine all the lag from the random events popping up everywhere? No thanks.
  10. Lord British... Wait, this isn't Ultima... Thurgod the armour-changing blacksmith on classic for leaving the game permanently. We need him!
  11. I understood him. He was referring to the types of Bibles which have a daily story (365 in all), and once Runescape hits that number one would eventually entail their adventures in this way. I myself had the idea to make humourous 4-panel silent comics for every quest in Runescape, each being progressive... But that'll take considerable work and most people would criticise its intended comedic double meanings (all the quests prior to Runescape 2 depicts the character in midget form).
  12. More content in a game never hurt anybody... The time for the really good updates will come. :-k
  13. I'd love to join your clan, even though a general positive attitude from people lower than 1200 is highly anticipated.
  14. Hate, I've been helping new players ever since I've retired from Runescape (Roughly two years ago) in which I pick new players and patiently guide them through quests all the while teaching them the basics to become a respected member. Some of them eventually surpassed me and even thanked me in a tangible way, such as my first "apprentice" which gave me the dragon square shield I had been hunting for ages. You don't have to take your time off your playing. You don't have to give free items to anybody. Hey, you don't even have to befriend them! Being a role model for anyone who sees you in "red" will really affect them to become like you. It's like girls wanting to imitate popstars or anime fans going to conventions dressing up as their favourite characters.
  15. I have to admit, I was just like one of these newbies 5-6 years ago... Having a good (and patient) friend in the high levels has brought me to idolise him and take him as an example. What do new players see as an example from high level players now? Arrogant stuck-up idiots who snob out anyone below level 80. This can easily change.
  16. This isn't an issue on player levels but attitudes towards their fellow players. One VERY good proposal to help things in the right direction is the re-establishment of hidden combat levels outside of the wilderness. There was a lot less prejudice against people at lower levels when this was the case several years ago. :-k
  17. Am I the only one to mention the shade tombs? :-k
  18. I've gathered over 200-300 emeralds and sapphires from people that drop these, so I humbly thank you for your carelessness. =)
  19. Would skill calculators, planners and the coordinate finder count?
  20. One has to consider the biggest factor in why people act so foolishly in the game is the fellow player. Younger and more inexperienced players will absorb ongoing socialising and start it off there. Bad experiences such as being scammed or deceived also don't help their problem.
  21. I have seen quite an overabundance of posts and topics regarding the downfall of the game, the community and general attitude. That's all well and good but has anybody even TRIED doing something about it? Have people banded together to revive the spirit of the game, becoming a big whole subgroup instead of scattered pieces to teach the new generation to become quality players? I'm sorry to say this, but the ratio of publicised good deed/improvement topics against demeaning/whiny/degrading ones has severly sided onto the latter negative portion. Scapers/Tipiters are a fairly large community of intelligent and mature players; A large group like this could certainly contribute in making the game a better place (socially) by setting a good example to everyone which will hopefully catch on and eventually rekindle that old feeling of homeliness when you play. Thank you very much for reading. O:) *Move this if you see it's in the wrong section please. *This post is suggesting players to show their niceness a bit with fellow scapers so others may catch onto it. *This post is NOT a rant about pessimism regarding the game.
  22. Eye of the Tiger works especially well for intensive training such as agility and combat. :-k
  23. These make a good quest: *A challenge to the skill aimed for (puzzles as seen from quests like Monkey Madness). *Gives out insight from the lore (Digsite quest is a very good example, if not the best). *Well-developed plot (Like the Ardougne [Plague City to Mourning's End Part 2] and Dwarf arcs [The Giant Dwarf and Forgettable Tales]) which catch your interest. Get on with the sequels Jagex! *Balanced rewards (A difficult quest is deserving of adequate rewards, such as Desert Treasure opening up the Ancient spellbook). *Exciting boss battles (the Haunted Mine is my favourite example of this, not only you had to take care of the boss but you needed to watch out for your surroundings. There's probably more. :-$
  24. Does anyone ever recall The Matrix Effect/The Yachowski Syndrome? It's when your character froze in place for a few seconds from jet lag then quickly darting off looking at everyone else moving at the speed of sound. :P
  25. real people pked with party hats and dragon sq shields to show off wealth, not some measily 200k santa hat People went on an uproar when Musashi22, the best smith at the time, got killed in the wilderness while wielding both a dragon med and square shield (which was worth a LOT). The guy then got into a heated cold war with whitemagem on who was the best smith in the game, which raised a lot of discussion here about Musashi vs Whitey, the latter accused for character sharing for levelling so quickly whereas the former kept free smithing rune to everyone making prices fall really quickly. It's one of the more community-based discussions I can remember. :-w
