October 24, 200718 yr Why don't they just picked the top two votes? That would be over 70% of all people who voted. Then most people would be happy, and there would be less flaming. So if broomsticks were third, you would be saying "Why don't they just pick the top three votes?" So if every one of the items had approximately the same we should release half a dozen holiday items and emotes right? Everyone voted. You didn't win. GET OVER IT. I REALIZE F2P players don't pay. But lets be fair: many of them one day will be members. Very few people come to the website, put down $5, and start their RS career as a member. Holiday updates are meant for EVERYONE to enjoy. Even the F2Pers. Seeing as it was partially MEANT for them, why shouldn't they get a say? MOST people who've disagreed with you so far have been members, myself included. Just stop being a bad sport about it. Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! Click for more information!
October 24, 200718 yr Hey I was right! We are flaming each other! Let's put this straight, just because you pay $5 a month doesn't mean you get whatever you want. You don't always get what you want, although it is true there was no majority for the poll, Jagex had to take what the most people wanted. P2P now has 31 hoods, why should you care if F2P gets one? Being a little selfish? Maybe just angry that you didn't get a flying broomstick? Don't dump all of your problems on f2p. "Oh, I didn't get what I wanted, those dumb f2p noobs" "Why can't I ever find a buyer? Those f2p noobs are taking all of them". I bet a fair share of members voted for the hood also. Being F2P does not label you as rotten scum. Although, to an extent, I believe you are right. Jagex should have included both items, although it might be a bit overkill. Pray it's next year's reward! But lets try to keep it a bit more mature. And before you call me F2P scum who ruins your entire life by giving you something you didn't want in ONE POLL, I was f2p during the poll, I voted for the broomstick. Every f2p friend on my list voted broomstick, which a few exceptions (1. Didn't get a chance to ask, 2. Doesn't care about polls, 3. (2 people) Thought the broom would make worse outfit matches than the hood.) And before you call me F2P "fur lyf" notice my (rather bad, I admit) member stats. ~It's Super Effective! (The Zaaps Blog)~My YouTube Channel, where you get to watch me go around and make a fool out of myself and all comp capersGuides:~Yeah I wrote them once~Suggestions:~Yeah I made those once~
October 24, 200718 yr I hope they don't have a GCP. Surprises are fun And @ Kosz and Master, just because you pay $5 a month it doesn't mean it makes you human and F2Pers Zoo Animals. And if you think it does then you should go play in traffic EDIT: Master shouldn't though Amazing Avatar by Lit0ua
October 24, 200718 yr Jagex should just abolish the GC polls totally. Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
October 24, 200718 yr Jagex should just abolish the GC polls totally. Best idea, tbh. Amazing Avatar by Lit0ua
October 24, 200718 yr Guaranteed Content Polls? No thanks. I rather be surprised then know what's going to happen. "Be Excellent To Each Other"
October 24, 200718 yr No, for the love of god, no. Not knowing possible items= less opinions= less people complaining. Just look at the whole broom vs. hood disaster. And look at the whole F2P vs. P2P rights disaster. Not finding it, go back a page. No witty signatures for me :(
October 24, 200718 yr Oh heck no. I hated how it was ruined in the suspense and surprise of the event. That is what I normally looked forward to every time. I would love it if they read this and please do it your way, not our choice. A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
October 24, 200718 yr If f2p get to vote no Members only Get over your ego! The point of the vote is to get what the majority want! Not to get what you want.... Was I talking to you? Mind your own business this is my option ffs F2p always want what they don't have, and members have plenty of it EX Hoods we have 30 of them now 31 Actually, because you never directed your post at a specific person, you were talking to all of us. And yes, there are already plenty of hoods to obtain in the game, but the majority of them require 99 skills, quests, ect. Now low level players have a chance to get a good looking hood, at no cost. I wish people would stop flaming Jagex's updates. Its not like Jagex ever has to update the game, they do it for themselves. and maybe a little for the money  OT: I think there should not be a poll. It is fun to have suprises in my opinion, but it was also nice to be able to vote for a change. With the 3 holidays in the year, i think one should have a poll, and the other two jagex should figure out themselves :) No. With f2p the majority of runescape they have the upper hand and since they don't get Hoods in game and we do they wanted a hood yet most members wanted something else. It'd just be a f2p dictatorship disappointing the 1 m paying customers. Thank you Look all the people who are disagreeing with me are f2p Wanna check my stats? No, all the people disagreeing with you are intelligent people. In reply to you Master, it wouldn't be a dictatorship, but they are the majority and they wanted it. It is better to satisfy the majority than dissatisfy the majority because it proves more deadly to Jagex causing more problems. Those who pay for the game are not going to stop paying for the game due to one measley update which they didn't enjoy as it has no consequence on the rest of the game and they will carry on with their gaming lives. Just because you are not in the majority doesn't mean that you are more important than those in the majority. Yea they are pretty sad =/ (stats) I hate when you say "its a democracy blah blah blah the majority wins" it won but 60 votes thats not a majority the majority would be 70% to 30% but both were 32% Jagex should just released both Hood and broom that way they could please 74% of people rather then just 32% of them. (Bet half of them were f2p) F2P don't pay for the game, they should be happy with whatever bone Jagex throws at them. Off topic: you wish you were in the congress dont you =/ Please, go back to first grade english. The definition of majority- The amount by which the greater number, as in votes, surpasses the remainder. This means that whichever item gets the most votes (The Hood, whether it was 60 votes or 5000 votes) is considered the majority. Not "70% 30%" As you said. And yes, i am F2P. That does not make me any worse than you. Just because you pay 5$ a month for a game does not make you better than me in any way, what so ever. I engineered this thread with precise variables that I know would cause lul-worthy flames.
October 24, 200718 yr GC polls are an asinine concept, because they will always be swayed in the favor of lower levels, simply because lower levels are the vast majority. You may say "but they are the majority, so that's good, right?" Wrong. Though they are the majority, most of them have not played long enough to know what's good or bad for the game, so they make uninformed decisions that are potentially detrimental to the overall game.

Though they are the majority, most of them have not played long enough to know what's good or bad for the game, so they make uninformed decisions that are potentially detrimental to the overall game. I think their should be no GC polls for important issues, but I guess it is all right for halloween events... hoods are not detrimental to the game. Though if i had my way, I would prefer they axed the GCs.... No witty signatures for me :(
October 24, 200718 yr Why don't they just picked the top two votes? That would be over 70% of all people who voted. Then most people would be happy, and there would be less flaming. halloween isnt over, jagex hinted at a surprise and paw claw made a thread about halloween seemed unusual this year. as for the flaming, if your posts were not so egotistical and literally [bleep]ing stupid made you would not have gotten flamed. look @ the flaming starts with you. Look all the people who are disagreeing with me are f2p Yea they are pretty sad =/ (stats) your f2p you probably voted for hood because f2p don't have hood learn to shut the hell up, god damn. you expressed your opinions people didnt agree be act your age and handle the criticism, because honestly your a joke. anyway, vote for a christmas update, nah i prefer surprises
October 24, 200718 yr It's not that members don't want free to play to have a hood, its that we have no use for it and wanted something original, it's like if you get given socks every year for your birthday, christmas, engagement etc. Eventually you've so many socks and you're annoyed people took a vote to just give you more socks ionstead of something else.
October 24, 200718 yr Yes. I believe Jagex didn't only use the results from the last poll for halloween, but as a base for what the players want for a christmas event. And the hood wasn't THAT great, we'll admit. But now Jagex maybe thinking that hoods are what the majority wants, so it'll probaly cause us more problems then this evnt. If we did, at least we have an opportunity to vote otherwise, and Jagex can see what the runescape community want. If the results turn out alot diferent, it'll be good for easter, in which we wouldn't have to have a guarenteed content poll. Or I'd vote 'no'. But for now, this is my reason why we should. Unless you want to end up with a "santa beard" :) Doomy edit: I like sheep
October 24, 200718 yr No, I don't want another GC poll, especially for holiday events. I used to love holiday events, the feeling of surprise has always made me happy. But this time there's absolutely no surprise and the event becomes boring. If the GC poll was an attempt to reduce the number of people ranting, it simply failed. People started ranting a few months before the update, how nice.
October 24, 200718 yr I cast my vote for no. I didn't vote in the Halloween one and never even looked at the thing until after I did the event yesterday. I have never/will never complain about a holiday event, whether I like it or not.
October 24, 200718 yr I think the polls are a nice idea and were intended well but I would rather the suprise. It makes it more exciting. [spoiler=My 99s (7)]9,638th to 99 Fletching ~ 29th January 2007 737th to 99 Hunter ~ 2nd July 2007910th to 99 Agility ~ 28th January 200859,467th to 99 Defence ~ 23rd December 200992,762nd to 99 Hitpoints ~ 26th June 2010102,704th to 99 Attack ~ 29th June 2010144,091st to 99 Strength ~ 29th June 2010
October 24, 200718 yr No, I don't think so. Like it has been said, these polls just create more unhappy players. 32% got what they wanted, where as with a surprise, I bet that number would be much higher. I don't really like the GC polls. It's not so much about the lack of surprise as it is about voting, then seeing my choice lose by X amount of votes. As far as the f2p aspect goes, I don't have a problem with them getting holiday events, as that is something that, once gone, they can never get. A large portion of f2pers eventually become members. Other then that, no updates. If they want updates, they should pay for them. Otherwise, whats the point of members? To only get a few extra updates? Not thanks. As a note, I don't even remember what I voted for :XD: I am not a skiller, but i do some skills.
October 24, 200718 yr There should be a guranteed content poll in my opinion, although only if it is proposed as a preferential voting system like what most democratic nations employ today (listing your preference for each option).
October 24, 200718 yr learn to shut the hell up, god damn. you expressed your opinions people didnt agree be act your age and handle the criticism, because honestly your a joke. Thankyou for being frank about it and just telling him. :) anyways, I think it should just be left up to Jagex, surprises ftw, also the guaranteed content poll happened to have left people like Kosz unhappy, and we wouldn't want imbeciles to be unhappy now would we?
October 24, 200718 yr We had an event that we knew what the reward and event was going to be like so how about a surprise one. Christmas is all about surprises so let us be surprised :) Jagex may still giet flamed by some people if the event is not to their liking but they won't get flamed because some people wanted a different thing.
