I REALIZE F2P players don't pay. But lets be fair: many of them one day will be members. Very few people come to the website, put down $5, and start their RS career as a member. Holiday updates are meant for EVERYONE to enjoy. Even the F2Pers. Seeing as it was partially MEANT for them, why shouldn't they get a say?

Although, to an extent, I believe you are right. Jagex should have included both items, although it might be a bit overkill. Pray it's next year's reward! But lets try to keep it a bit more mature.

Every f2p friend on my list voted broomstick, which a few exceptions (1. Didn't get a chance to ask, 2. Doesn't care about polls, 3. (2 people) Thought the broom would make worse outfit matches than the hood.) And before you call me F2P "fur lyf" notice my (rather bad, I admit) member stats.

Actually, because you never directed your post at a specific person, you were talking to all of us. And yes, there are already plenty of hoods to obtain in the game, but the majority of them require 99 skills, quests, ect. Now low level players have a chance to get a good looking hood, at no cost. I wish people would stop flaming Jagex's updates. Its not like Jagex ever has to update the game, they do it for themselves.

OT: I think there should not be a poll. It is fun to have suprises in my opinion, but it was also nice to be able to vote for a change. With the 3 holidays in the year, i think one should have a poll, and the other two jagex should figure out themselves :)

 

 

 

No. With f2p the majority of runescape they have the upper hand and since they don't get Hoods in game and we do they wanted a hood yet most members wanted something else. It'd just be a f2p dictatorship disappointing the 1 m paying customers.

In reply to you Master, it wouldn't be a dictatorship, but they are the majority and they wanted it. It is better to satisfy the majority than dissatisfy the majority because it proves more deadly to Jagex causing more problems. Those who pay for the game are not going to stop paying for the game due to one measley update which they didn't enjoy as it has no consequence on the rest of the game and they will carry on with their gaming lives. Just because you are not in the majority doesn't mean that you are more important than those in the majority.

You may say "but they are the majority, so that's good, right?" Wrong. Though they are the majority, most of them have not played long enough to know what's good or bad for the game, so they make uninformed decisions that are potentially detrimental to the overall game.

It's not that members don't want free to play to have a hood, its that we have no use for it and wanted something original, it's like if you get given socks every year for your birthday, christmas, engagement etc. Eventually you've so many socks and you're annoyed people took a vote to just give you more socks ionstead of something else.

I believe Jagex didn't only use the results from the last poll for halloween, but as a base for what the players want for a christmas event.

No, I don't want another GC poll, especially for holiday events. I used to love holiday events, the feeling of surprise has always made me happy. But this time there's absolutely no surprise and the event becomes boring.

 

 

 

If the GC poll was an attempt to reduce the number of people ranting, it simply failed. People started ranting a few months before the update, how nice.

A poll would be nice, seeing as many didn't like last year's reindeer hats.

I cast my vote for no. I didn't vote in the Halloween one and never even looked at the thing until after I did the event yesterday. I have never/will never complain about a holiday event, whether I like it or not.

I think the polls are a nice idea and were intended well but I would rather the suprise.

No, I don't think so. Like it has been said, these polls just create more unhappy players. 32% got what they wanted, where as with a surprise, I bet that number would be much higher. I don't really like the GC polls. It's not so much about the lack of surprise as it is about voting, then seeing my choice lose by X amount of votes.

 

 

 

As far as the f2p aspect goes, I don't have a problem with them getting holiday events, as that is something that, once gone, they can never get. A large portion of f2pers eventually become members. Other then that, no updates. If they want updates, they should pay for them. Otherwise, whats the point of members? To only get a few extra updates? Not thanks.

There should be a guranteed content poll in my opinion, although only if it is proposed as a preferential voting system like what most democratic nations employ today (listing your preference for each option).

We had an event that we knew what the reward and event was going to be like so how about a surprise one. Christmas is all about surprises so let us be surprised :)
