Skull
Merry Christmas kids. I am going to sleep now, as I have to be up in 6 hours for Christmas Festivities. I hope everyone has/had a nice Christmas, or a good December 25 if Christmas isn't your thing. Tim
Had Xmas at bf's step parents. Was really nice, we had blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Then a traditional Aussie cold meat/seafood lunch, followed by pudding and cream/custard. Also wore a few hats, as you'll see in the photo topic. Estonian dude
Wool is a great option for anywhere in cold. Woollen underwear is awesome. Woollen tights and shirts are epicly warm. I don't mind wool layers too much, but I can't stand the feeling of it touching my skin. I always need something else between me and it. Estonian dude
You do know there are multiple types of wool, right? I can't really stand the old coarse wool either, makes me feel itchy and... Tingly? But for underwear it is usually not just pure wool but a mix with cotton or some synthetic materials or bamboo. Wool-bamboo mix is really awesome and soft... Kaida23
I can't even have wool against my skin, I'm allergic to it. Still, a nice thick pair of wool socks over a regular pair works like a dream for keeping the old tootsies warm. My kids (read: their mother :P) got me a few movies: Evil Dead and Army of Darkness, Captain America, Hulk (the Ang Lee one, not the Ed Norton one) and one I was really excited about...Four Rooms! :twss: I absolutely LOVE that movie. I haven't seen it in years and was never able to find it. Now I have a copy all for my very own! :D Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P. So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually... Blake
Honestly, dressing in layers if you're going somewhere very cold is the best option. A tight base layer (cotton is a no-no for this because it holds sweat) followed by a warm layer followed by a wind breaker usually does the trick. It's also a good idea to cover your car windows with a mat in the evening so that you don't have to go out and scrape it off. Warming a car up in the morning and preparing it is honestly the least pleasant thing about winter, for myself. Yeah, this. I usually wear some snowboarding thermal pants (skin-tight, insulating stuff), with just jeans and boots, and then a shirt, with my wool peacoat over that. It has a sweater built into it. Also, a scarf and a hat. It's not really the temperature that gets you really cold, it's the wind. My outfit keeps most of the heat in, the problem is covering up all your skin so you don't get hit by the -30 wind chills.
Randox
You do know there are multiple types of wool, right? I can't really stand the old coarse wool either, makes me feel itchy and... Tingly? But for underwear it is usually not just pure wool but a mix with cotton or some synthetic materials or bamboo. Wool-bamboo mix is really awesome and soft...Huh, so I'm not the only one. Like Kaida, I have a contact allergy to it. It doesn't even need to rub, I can tell if a fabric contains wool simply by touching it (which would be a useful skill in general if it didn't feel like fire ants after 15 seconds). I have a couple part wool sweaters that I can deal with if I wear a short sleeve shirt under them, though I wont wear them for extended periods because it does get really irritating as time goes on. Got my Logitech g600 mouse for Christmas. Once I become proficient with it, it should be like having 3 hands since it can delegate a lot of the keyboard selection stuff to the right thumb and ring fingers. I also got a giant Razor mouse pad as a surprise bonus, which I can't argue with. A bigger mouse pad would be nice. I also got clothes (I always though getting clothes would suck, then I got older and now I appreciate it), a lot of books, and some other odds and ends I wanted, including a sort of home course on how to argue and reason (I also have some on stats and probabilities). And of course, the obligatory Toblerone bar in the stocking, which I noticed today is 75% of a kilo, or more than a pound of chocolate. This is how all chocolate bars should come. Big enough to bludgeon a small child, or feed one for a few days. I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but it's been a very lovely day, and we had a great visit from my first cousin once removed and her husband. Think we had them here for about 8 hours. And I got a book called "How to tell if your cat is plotting to kill you" or something very close to that. Very funny.
Matt258
Last night we went over to my dad's youngest brother house to eat & open some gifts. We watched a video with our old Familyp pictres. We went outside & sent off some Sky Lanterns. I got a Toy Helecopter RC. I watched them play with theirs. I hope that everyone had a GREAT day today (even if you don't Celebrate X-Mas). I got up @ 7:30 AM went out to go look @ the gifts :) Had to wait for my brother to come over. I got: New Watch, Hoodie, an Indo Board, $50 Amazon gift card, USB port, Computer chair, 32 inch TV! My mom got a Log pole with Driftwood signs that they found on their trips. My dad cut Places where they have been on to them. Then we went to the barn & dad bought them 2 Kawasiki Trail 140 CC Bikes. Then we went to my mom's youngest sister's house to eat lunch & open some gifts. We all had to wear "Ugly christmas sweaters". I got Duck Hunt (toy that flys around & you try to shoot it down with a laser gun) We left & it started to rain before we got back home. Unloaded everything & went to clean off my bottom shelf to put the TV there. It started to rain pretty heavy the last hour. I watched Indiana Jones movie. Star.
Hope everyone had a good time yesterday. I've noticed that we've been lacking in the Christmas signatures and avatars though. MightyMuddy
I was at a party and I managed to call a girl her cousin's name twice in the same night. I'm not too sure why either, and it wasn't exactly taken well, haha. Blog
Albel
We just got done opening gifts since dad was working last night. I got an Ipod classic (160GB), professional level audio headset, some body wash, a CD with a bunch of video game music by the London Philharmonic. But the best gift by far was the electric blanket I got from mother.
