perhaps i was angry that he called my major a waste of time on the phone...of course, he said it more politely than that, but its frustrating when all of my professors tell me to quit working to focus on my studies [to get a degree I personally see as meaningless, as even people with high education have a tough time getting "real" jobs] and then the government practically told me to stop going to school so I would be more available to work.

I think you may have misinterpreted an objective statement with a snide remark. It's pretty factual that there's very few jobs in the field of psychology, as it's such a specialist one that may be currently saturated.

also I reckon every single city should have capsule hotels that are so common in japan (or so I've heard). they'd get excellent business. feeling tired, in a foreign city (while travelling ?) or just completely shitfaced and dont want to go home ? shell out $20 for a good nights sleep in safety. keep your personal effects on you and avoid accidentally killing a hooker at the same time

Anything that can get you a job as a teacher. The pay may not be great, the kids might suck, but you're pretty much guaranteed a decent living and summers off.

Teaching in Australia is a big one. Barely anyone wants to do it (secondry/high school) because of how kids are nowdays. The only reason I'm doing it, is to follow my passion for teaching in general and art. Plus it's a guaranteed job, something I try to get through my parent's thick skulls.

True. I can say being a teacher is great....unless you are a music or art teacher. Seeing as schools are slowly getting rid of music and the arts, it's going to be balls hard for me to get a job. That is why I am getting my doctorate in muisc conducting. This should allow me to become a college level band director, or director of bands.

Opposite for me, not enough teachers who learned art or music. which is a shame as there's a lot of potential of people who could teach music, but instead decide to play in a garage band, getting 1 gig every 3 month, earning nothing in hopes someday they'll suddenly burst and shine.

At this point, I just want to go back to my job and make some money again. I miss going out to eat and smoking

Ordered an album and two (free) v-neck shirts. Pretty average day aside from that, tomorrow I'm going to watch Star Wars at a friend's place. Going back up to SF on Sunday when break ends, so excited to see my girlfriend again. A month apart has been rather difficult.

I've decided to take the moral high ground. I realize I'm going to be taking flak for this comment, but I have about everything I've posted in the past day or so, so idgaf. I'm dropping my unemployment benefits. Yes, it'd be sweet to get paid for nothing [grand total of potential net $2,000] but I'm just a student. Chillin. It would actually be more work to actively look for jobs I don't want, than to just sit around and work an odd job here and there. Plus my "Social Changes" class requires I do 10 hours of community service every week, so I'd kind of rather do that. I'll skip a meal every day, and quit smoking but...eh. Whatever. I'll survive. I can't wait to friggin' graduate.

Feels like double the temps that are shown there sometimes due to it being spring like sun and 0 clouds.

And the pressure is on. I have one attempt to get my work right otherwise I won't get the top marks in this particular class. One's about backing up data before an upgrade and the other is on backing out when an installation goes wrong.

 

I don't know what this shit is about, but I've been told to look at Acronis TrueImage by the teacher.... whatever that is. Installing software makes no sense to me.
