Sbrideau
Snowstorm isn't started yet here, but even with very bad temperatures they don't close the college here. At least we are finally getting a real storm this winter, extremely rare that we get mostly freezing rain. We're expecting 30cm, which is real compared to the 10cm snow + 10mm freezing rain we've been having so far. Usually these 30cm storms happen almost weekly here. Racheya
Today I spent ages debating whether I could be bothered to go to the gym. I decided to only to find I'd lost my iPod. Since the last time I used it was a few days ago at the gym I decided to go anyway and ask if it'd been handed in. Thank God it was :P It's ancient, but it'd piss me off having to get a new iPod - admittedly I'd probably still get the same old 3rd gen nano model, but still. It's kinda surprising that it was handed in and not stolen, but it is the University gym and I was there quite late so it's possible one of the staff found it at the end of the day. Glad I went, though. Even if I did get soaked on the way home. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator]. Randox
At the huge risk of sounding like a Female (in terms of sexism/jokes and all that shit) I hate a kitchen that's messy. I absolutely hate it.I have to say I agree with this. I have all my own cooking stuff here for a couple reasons, but I also need a clear sink to wash since I never make a large enough mess to run the dishwasher. The group this year is pretty good about it, but other people I have lived with would just pile shit up in the sink until you needed to do the dishes just to get a glass of water. In my parents house, dirty dishes go on the counter if their to be done by sink, or in the dishwasher. Dishes get done every night, and the dishwasher gets run and emptied every day or two. There are always clean dishes, and the mess never gets so bad that you want to go hide from it (unless we have company over). I love that system. It's currently snowing, slated for 2-4cm followed by 15mm of rain this evening, and 10 tonight. That should be interesting. And earwigs are disgusting. I can handle most bugs, provided they aren't too big (too big being I can feel the crunch when I step on them), but earwigs are seemingly designed to just be horrible. And you can't find just one, there's always like at least 20 of them.

jasignhagj
Got up at 5pm today, oh the joys of getting 2 weeks off for exams. Went bowling earlier, and now I'm enjoying some sloppy joes,The most amazing leftovers ever. All in all a good day so far. Today, Youtube got blocked at my school. It's an understatement to suggest that I'm frustrated at the news.I'd go to your school/division's administrator and make them aware of Youtube saftey mode. Youtube used to be blocked at our school, then they introduced saftey mode and they unblocked it. All it does is completely block 18+ videos and hide comments, but it might be enough to make them reconsider.

I assume you're talking about the newest. Library got its hands on the first two Wheel of Time books for me. Downside is that I have until Feb 16th to finish them which is when they're due. lizzywizzy
I have been feeling super blah today, I just realised I have not been taking my medication, I should probably start taking them again :-/ I am getting fed up with going to hospital now, I have been every week for the last 9 weeks, blood tests, more blood tests, ultra sounds, gastroscopy, some more blood tests, im getting bored of it now. We have established I have gall stones, I have a gaping Pylorus (sounds funny but painful, stupid stomach is letting acids into my intestines and is painful) and I am prone to pancreatitus at the moment, ive had it twice since beginning of december. BUT! today I am having a baby free day, going to have lunch, have a bath.... a BATH! not a quick 5 minute one but a full on proper bath!!! and off out on a date type thing tonight, so should help keep my mind of me being slightly broken lol. Nomrombom
I think there is a difference in philosophy here. In ten years, the likelihood of you remembering any of the details of what you were forced to learn is low, but you will remember how you critically analyzed a body of information. You will retain the ability to read a book, article--whatever the case may be--and internalize it, draw conclusions from it, and translate your argument into a well written essay. This is a skill that can be transposed on many aspects of your life, not just for reading about how Charles Beard (and his wife Mary) was one of the leading Progressive academics :shades: (By the way, there is a ton of information about America's democratic identity in all of those topics you listed) The evidence or answers provided to you may not always be 100% correct or even interesting. That is not the point. The point is to create a controlled environment where you can hone your skills as a critical thinker. Also, if you are pulling random facts out of the air (even if they are true) that are outside the course material, you have no way of citing those sources--unless, of course, you have memorized the citation. If you do not have a source or other cite-able evidence, you cannot make a claim or argument in the field of history. Yeah, I see what you mean. But first, we didn't have to cite any information at all, it was an in-school timed essay (we had 3 hrs max to do the whole exam, so you had max 2 hrs to write the essay). And second, I'm already a very critical thinker IMO. I've always found it easy to pull information out of text and to understand what's really happening (thank you, genetics). School and I don't go well together I think, because the school is set up to teach us to read between the lines and analyze well, whereas I already kind of do that and want to go further. Also not trying to sound conceited here, even though I probably am  PM me for fitocracy invite

Bows
Yes. Ended up losing in the first bracket; I'm "Team Control." The first loss was a great match, and the second was a total fluke. Their host is out on the East Coast (New York) and that gave them a serious advantage. Either way, we lost. Losers bracket soon. A little bummed out, but oh well. However, seeing as how this is a double elimination, we have a chance to come back and bag this whole thing.

H2PM
A host on the east coast? That seems rather unfair. I remember reading about neutral servers that gave everyone the same host or whatever. I know it was used in many tournaments. Figured you would have had the same opportunity, "Let your anger be as a monkey in a piñata... hiding amongst the candy... hoping the kids don't break through with the stick." - Master Tang

Either way, getting in some more practice before the next matches. Keep checking back to the bracket to see if we've moved! Skull
Woke up at 5. Pretty sweet, although I'm not going to be able to fall asleep tonight because of it. Anyways, I had a pretty fun birthday. Granted I'm 19 now which means... jack shit. But who cares. Now back to my regular weekend schedule, which is watching my ex-roommate sit in my room and play skyrim while watching youtube videos or playing minecraft/pokemon. Bows
Losers bracket round two beginning shortly. The guys we're supposed to play were a no-show for their last match, so if they don't show up it's a free advancement for us.
