Haven't been to school since last Thursday, and probably wont' go until next Tuesday. Assuming the weather permits.

Friends in the northern part of VA are getting feet and feet of snow, and are out of school until next Tuesday. Here in the southern half, we get 1/8th an inch. We look out the window at school, all excited to see the ground all white, snow still falling, and heavy winds. Next thing we know, it's all sunny, snow melts.

 

It's just as well though, since if we miss another day of school this year (already had 2 flood days and 2 snow days) we'd have to make it up on a Saturday. Which would not be cool.

Being in the South sucks. The Summers are too hot, the Winters are warm enough not to freeze but cold enough to be an annoyance, and Spring and Autumn don't even exist! It's just warm, cold, warm, cold, warm, cold.

 

I wanna go back to Missouri or Oklahoma, at least there we got snow days...

6 day weekend here :) Friday and Monday were already scheduled to be off due to staff development/president's day. too bad I've got nothing to do really, aside from wasting today+tomorrow shoveling.

Had a snow day, and as I was finishing up making tomorrow's lunch, I found that it's another one tomorrow. That's 3 snowdays this year, and we'll only be making up 2.

I'm not sure about the public schools, but the private school I go to makes it up on Saturdays. I do feel bad for all the people who are gonna have lots of makeup days from the snow days, you guys might end up in school until July :ohnoes:

Sucks for them. The date my school gets out has been moved further a week but since i'm a senior and they won't move graduation I still get out of school on time.

I woke up to snoooooooooow. No snow day, though. It's still snowing like a mug, though, so tomorrow may very well be canceled. Which is hilarious, since it's a snow makeup day. GOD SAYS I DON'T NEED SCHOOL!

Last night I was kind of expecting a talking to by a supervisor, and really hoping for one. Apparently my second break (always either 25 or 30) was meant to be a 20 but my relief person didn't tell me until I got back. She then went on to tell me the other guy on my job (we had 3, but needed 1 to open boxes, 2 dumping them) was doing the job BY HIMSELF for 20 minutes. She was my RELIEF person. She is to do my job while I am ON BREAK. She was too busy doing the other 2 people's jobs she let go at the same time, I guess. So a combination of poor communication and stupid full-timer superiority complex made one guy's day that much harder for 20 minutes.

 

The box opener was being relieved by a pregnant woman, too, and she couldn't lift the boxes off the skids onto the table. Luckily we had some people nice enough to help her out or trade her jobs while she was there.

 

Today I don't work, which is good. But it is even better because we have a stupid "communication meeting" in which they tell us how the company is doing and how much money we'll never see. I'll probably just play video games and watch movies all day.

No school tommarow. And monday is family day in Ontario. 4 day weekend, [bleep] yes.

Where are you guys? Iowa only got ~6 inches monday night, didn't have school tuesday, and nothing else, nor anything planned for a while.

I don't get family day off... That's about the only downside to my job. And snow days only need to be made up for if you get more than a certain number. We almost hit that number about 5 years ago, but I've never seen it happen. (I, too, live in Ontario)

We're only getting a week off because it's our annual vacation. We haven't had a single snow day this year.

By me, I mean the Greater Boston area. Where it's supposedly cold and snowy and blizzardy and stuff.

I guess it's alright though. I'm going up to New Hampshire this weekend and I don't want there to be a ton of snow. Would prefer no snow at all, to be honest.

We had house sports today (at my new school, just ended my second week now).

Was very fun, truth be told unlike my last school the people are very in to it and it makes the day alot more enjoyable.

 

Wasn't overly hot either, cloudyish, so no sunburn! :P

I find it hilarious that the USA is getting bombarded with snow and everyone is tripping balls thinking its the rapture or something, while here in Canada we have about a total of a foot of snow with sunny skies for most of this and the past month :thumbsup:

50+ degrees F on average throughout this week. Nobody freezing their balls off in California right now. :thumbsup:

Bombarded? Which areas are you hearing about, we're lucky to get an inch.

We got about 3 inches which is [cabbage] because they said we were supposed to get over a foot of snow. There really hasn't been any snow this year, normally there's about 6 inches on the ground throughout January and February, but I can see the ground in parts of my yard.
