Mousekeys...Are the Legit?

I bought my keyboard legally, with no warnings, or restrictions tide to it on how I may use it. I use my mouse to go to an x,y position, so there's no difference in the control keys, since control is basically universal. There is no real 'advantage' anyone has over anyone.

 

 

 

If the entire process is automated, as in:

 

 

 

'Withdraw'

 

'Withdraw Value X'

 

'Cook Value X'

 

'Deposit Food'

 

'Repeat'

 

 

 

Then it should be illegal as you're not doing any work, and you're just letting a program do it for you.

 

 

 

However if you're pressing a keybind for 'each' process or step that you take to do an entire action like chopping down a tree, then lighting the logs, then it shouldn't be illegal.

 

 

 

If you have to physically do something 'for each step you take' then no it's not illegal, or shouldn't be. As you're just optimizing your playing.

 

 

 

Thus you have to physically do something each time to do a keybind/mousekeys for each step. It becomes illegal when you include multiple steps/processes into one keybind.

You will get a little popup.

 

 

 

Click yes and the little number pad on the right side of the keybard can be used as a mouse.

 

Havent figured out of it can be used for anything other then high alching though. :-k

that makes very good sense, what if you change the key on the keyboard but only set it to 1 key rather then an operation? like if you changed the "1" key on the rightside of your keyboard to perform the "ctrl" function. Everyone can access that through control panel so is that legit or not?

If you actually read the first post you would know that the ctrl+2+5 combination, when right clicked on you're essence pile in the bank will emidiatly move and click on the "withdraw 1500" or whatever number its set to. it 100% garuntees that you wont misclick on a different function like "withdraw x" and makes banking faster and easier.

 

 

 

ctrl enables the mouse keys to jump a certain distance called "speed" in the settings I believe

 

2 makes it go down an inch or so when speed is all the way up

 

5 will do the left mouse click function.

Jagex has stated numerous times that MouseKeys IS allowed to be used in-game.

 

I use it all the time, and it's very handy.

Didnt see the check off box for the speed so thats why it wasnt working. :-#

I spent about 10 minutes trying to work out why it wasn't doing anything, then realised I forgot to press function when I press numlock :wall:

 

 

 

This is useful but rather annoying when I try to type and end up hitting numbers (laptop numpad ftl)

If you manually set where the hotkeys move the cursor then it's against the rules as you're not physically moving the mouse every time, it's simply "jumping" to an x-y position.

 

 

 

Some guy I remember posting on the RSOF suffered from serious arthritis and wasn't allowed to type as it would make it worse, thus had to use "speech typing software" that automatically typed for him and Jagex issued him with a warning, that's how harsh they are with the rules.

I got banned for "macroing" when I was getting 99 Magic weeks after I trained from 1-99 (I did it all at once took a few weeks), even though I was casting "Tele-Other" on my friends, player mods and some Jagex mods at the time (back when they could be interacted with), I can't appeal it either as they have "no evidence" (it actually says that).

 

i got a 7 week ban for macroing while hunting #-o a week after i had got the level i wanted :lol: and same there is no evidence against me

 

but it was only 0.1 blackmarks and a 7 day ban lol?

I'm sure their macro detetiction is just suspicious behavior I never said they could actually tell if you were macroing or not.

It's not against the rules, and you can use them freely. On the other hand, they you have no evidence that you weren't macroing. And it appears that you are, if you sit there and alch with your point clicking the same pixels over and over.

I've thought about using them, but couldn't find a convenient way to press ctrl-2-5. On my keyboard, I have to stretch my fingers so far apart to press crtl and 2-5 that it's annoying lol. I might start using them if there's a way to fix this, but for now I'll stick to my mouse.

They've always had their own forums for buying and selling stuff because Jagex doesn't like them doing it in the regular forums. Thats what one of my buds that is a Forum Mod said. I didn't know they had more than one though.

Why?

 

 

 

Mousekeys aren't illegal, as long as each individual command, be that 'walk here', 'withdraw x' or 'craft runes' is made by the player pressing a button. When you don't press anything and your character performs an action, that's illegal.

It comes with the software... If they don't allow it they might as well make it uncompatible with Windows.

 

Although I'm pretty sure they might disallowed something on Windows...
