So Jagex never set how many trade in's per week you could do...so these people could keep getting points and trading them in. I didn't ever realize you could turn in multiple times. From now on, I've got to do a little math to see how many penguin points I should trade in before the level up, then go back out after trading those points in, find the rest and get more out of the points (since it multiplies based on levels) I could even use them to "top" off some skills close to levelling up. Toad Posted January 29, 2009 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Meh i bet jagex dont do anything about it, someone gained 4.2m or so in farming a few months back abusing a bug he got away with it so.. i guess somehow they can only rollback the penguin points but i doubt it, so most likely people should enjoy their free 99s i hope they do get banned they shouldn't encourage rule breaking especially abusing a bug should be some way to trace it :\ also they shouldnt keep it quiet, when they do ban they should make it front page news to keep people in-line. According to my friend 10% more people got 99 runecrafting today then there was to begin with due to the glitch 3. Countless other 99s were achieved because of this 4. Penguins have been taken out fixing for a while 5. So far the people have been able to keep their xp Jagex better either rollback all xp from penguins or doing something else about it. It's entirely unfair that these people took advantage of a glitch to cheat there way to a 99. Like people before be it also disgusts how unmoral people are. I would really prefer these people weren't banned because some may have gotten the glitch as a mistake and it wouldn't be their fault. I think the best option would just be able to somehow take the xp they got back. Maybe a rollback for all accounts that got more thank 100k xp from the glitch? Toad Posted January 29, 2009 Share Posted January 29, 2009 I personally believe zero tolerance for exploiting something like this, if jagex allows people to get away with this again, because i know bugs like this have happened before and people have gotten away with it then, they may aswell make macros legal, if this bug is fair and they want to promote cheating then they should compensate the people who didnt abuse the bug, i know a few people who jumped alot of xp yesterday that isnt possible so i'm keeping an eye on those people and if they don't get banned it shows how the rules are bent. Scenarios such as my 7.6 blackmarks for not doing anything close to this yet people who exploit a serious bug, enjoy your xp and no black marks, thanks for the "special" treatment. I seriously hope they track them and make it front page news saying this is what you get step in line we dont want to see it again. Basically there was a glitch whre some people could spy on the same penguin infinite times. 3 out of 4 of the major penguin hunting chats in w60 were full. Every penguin in the world was surrounded by a mass mob following and spying them. Many players had over 3k penguin points. Some p mods were there trying to calm everything down but it was to no avail. For over 2 hours people were hunting the penguins nonstop, accumulating massive amounts of points. I have a screenie of the whole thing on my other comp, i'll post it later. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Nobody told me about it -.- I'm fine with my 10 points though, got me 58 herblore : But, to be honest, you can take the side that says "JaGex's fault, if they've put it in the game, its their bug, and im going ot use it." Or the side which says: "This makes me sick, it is basicly unlimited free exp" Now while i agree with the fact that unlimited exp for nothing is unfair and should be stopped, I see the point where people would abuse it, because, there is no doubt in my mind that JaGex will not ban anyone for this, so if you got the advantage from the penguins, good for you, but you make me sick -.- Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
