I've decided I like this update.

Biggest disappointment is that none of the DG items give soak. Other than Corp Beast, Daemonheim is the one place where you consistently get hit for 200+, and adding soak to various equipment inside could have added diversity to peoples' gear.

Constancy getting hit 200+? you must be doing something wrong then, as most of the 200+ hits come from bosses(which they had no intention on making easier) and skill doors(same thing). Before you say you are disappointing about an update, you have to be smart enough to set your expectations at a realistic level. This update was introduced to reduce damage in pvp, thus it'd been stupid to assume dungeoneering would be affected.

Like I said, I didn't doubt you. It's still not good as picture proof though.

Actually seeing a red number with a range icon next to it would work more as picture proof.

They removed the zeros.

I like the zeros.

Now I get a stupid shield with an arrow bouncing off it.

And we all know that Jagex did this because they know that nubile minds are greatly offended by zeros and hitting a zero is obviously a sign of impotence. :roll:

I don't really notice the difference with the shield vs the 0, since the old 0 was still on a blue shield.

 

Only odd thing, is you can't see when other people miss or when a monster attacking someone else misses now.

I thought they were going to replace the 0s with "miss", what happened to that?

On a serious note, i agree that the picture you took shows nothing at all.

 

He shows that while using protect from missiles, he takes no damage. Also because he takes no damage, he shows that there are no more 0s, and instead it gets replaced by a shield. For a self-proclaimed genius, that was a weak shot at trolling him.

I'm not questioning his intent on what he wanted to explain, but the fact that he posted a picture to show taking no damage is just stupid. I could just aswell post a picture of me at corp, not taking damage, and claim the same things.

The update was you cant plant marker plants OVER the fremmink banker; which is exactly what you cannot do anymore.

 

you can plant under him, just not over him.

I see a botter in that picture.

If the botters still get trapped because of that, I support the update. :P

The botter won't get trapped seing as he can find the banker. Without having to right-click.

 

And on the Wyven subject.

It has always been known that the ball thingy when it flaps it's wings is a range attack.

The real mystery is the breath attack, if I remember right, someone here on tif noticed it has different sound effects, either 2 or 3 different kinds of attacks, (but I think they still are all magic but it has different abilities)

not really. the only soaking armor f2p gets (im 100% sure on this till i see a pic) is the robe top from fog

It's repeatedly stated that F2P is not treated like a demo in that it will be forever static. They're obviously making attempts to balance things but, like all things from Jagex, will take a long time to do it--f2p OR p2p.

I am fed up with people calling it a demo so they should not update it, the demo is suppose to be a taster of the game, so if the demo was rubbish then no one would pay for the real version, would they? Ok f2p shouldnt get many updates, but something as basic as the combat triangle needs to be fixed. Next time use your brain and logic before you sya something like that

Realistically, as jagex is a company looking for profit(and we can clearly see that from the recent botting scandal), f2p is a demo and though they still do get a few updates, f2p is very low priority for them in terms of updates, and fixing the combat triangle is even further down the list(and realistically, it's stupid to complain about a broken system instead of adapting to it). If p2p hasn't had a balanced combat triangle(realistically, it's never really existed), f2p can only dream about it. If you want updates, you've got to pay for them.

Yes.

 

He's not using melee, obviously, since it's a projectile. It splashes on you.

 

Also, try tanking him with melee armour on. Take an inventory of monkfish. Now try it with ranged gear. Same inventory of monkfish.

 

Now that you've figured that out, try tanking him with range gear (since you've discovered it's a magical attack) and tank with pro mage on. Tank without.

 

Tested those when Nomad came out. He uses mage, and pro mage DOES have an effect. (I think. Not like I can double check it now...) Jagex just likes to give newer boss monsters some prayer ignore capability.

 

On topic: I'm a little disappointed in the absorb rates. I also think it's misleading and dumb to put it on lower level armour; I mean, how many people in, say, black armour are ever going to get hit 200+? >.<

 

Seriously though, I think they should either raise the absorption rates, or remove the 200LP thing and *maybe* lower them.
