I think i'm going to make a guide on how to dg with a hexhunter now.

SEVEN hexhunters out of about 100 members. wow.

 

I wasn't going to as there are only a few of us, but I suppose its only natural for the amount of hexes to increase as time goes on so it will be useful to have.

He stole that hexhunter, while he didn't have 99 slay or could even wear the bow nor did he even have 100 dung. Basically not trustworty at all.

 

Not sure if those were the only reasons though.

Hey everyone, so this is probably the weirdest thing we've done to prevent RSOFers/117ers, but we added a little message in the guidelines on the DGS page. Anyone who reads the guidelines will definitely notice it and remember it:

 

"But the bestest bind ever is a primal pick. <- This is a phraseology check so that when prompted you can prove that you've read the guidelines."

 

Is it sly and underhanded? Yes it is. But we want to prevent these people from infecting DGS teams as much as possible. I've already kicked the same person twice today for not reading the guidelines (first time he admitted it, second time I asked him the bind question HOURS after I threw it in there, and he didn't know it). We're not going to kick people right away, mind you. We'll establish first whether or not they're Tip.iters, and as always, if you've been wrongly kicked, message one of us on TIF and I'll hero key a floor for you. ;)

 

Hopefully this is okay with everyone - if you have any suggestions for more effective ways to deal with RSOFers, I'm all ears.

I was totally in the CC when this happened (at least the second kick.) Sheesh, why can't people read... I consider it a good idea though. Consider changing it up every now and then ;)

 

I also attempted to swear at a random by typing asterisks, somehow the F word got in there, and I decided I had done enough livid farming... I want those strong melee pots =O

 

More importantly, the lycopus for them.

 

Anyhow, I totally support that check for reading the guides. Although, I personally wonder if it'd be a good idea to have it be a DG CC instead of a official DG clan resgistered on the RS site. Especially since it's on the first page of the highscores and all, which is pretty impressive.

That's a good idea (to stop getting people who only pretend they read the terms) but what if it turns off potential players who are willing to learn?

I'm sure if they DG'ed at all - they would be confused, or they would just think DGS is just some troll clan.

 

Why not make it something weird and memorable but doesn't actually pertain to DGS?

We're getting a trivia list of useful information built up.

And we're plugging it with a randomizer spreadsheet.

So a random trivia bit will be placed on the guide once each week.

Just making the list atm.

 

The trick is making the trivia obscure enough that nobody will just know the answer.

but not making it tooooo out there.

 

IE somewhere between:

"What path does a fishing ferret take"

(a lot of people know this)

 

and

 

"What is the approximate accuracy of a primal 2h on a forgotten tier 11 ranger at 99 attack, aggressive attack style, with no prayers, no potions, and no other stat boosting gear"

(I liked this one, but the rest of DGS told me it was too out there </3)

Blitzer vs Blazer. Which one is better?

Blitzer is better damage output, because of less overkill loss

 

Blazer is better for kiting a boss (IE dreadnaut).

Blazer is also better for rune Conservation, IE if you have a limited number of fire runes to go along with your celestial catalytic staff.

 

As a keyer, Blazer is better for me since It let me pop off a single high damage shot while running around.

Also the keyer always bosses, and blazer is generally better for bosses.

 

Blazer's also better if you intend to learn how to fire surge with a catalytic staff.

Otherwise, blitzer.

I've been told the opposite of blazers splash being independent from accuracy.

I'll know for sure when i test it myself.

 

edit: Did a quick test, Blazer special effect IS affected by accuracy.

you won't blaze if you splash.
